Most black people that travel have been to Jamaica and it’s exactly how Tariq described it. The locals beg with such aggression you feel attacked and overwhelmed. Many of them live in tinfoil huts. Unless you work on the resort the locals are not allowed there even if you invite them they will go to jail and you will be asked to leave. You are CONSTANTLY warned not to go out at night. We live nothing like them here in the US. Nice people but very poor.

I’ve been to Jamaica and other Caribbean islands. The resorts are nice. Visiting outside of the resorts, it’s visually apparent that the native don’t own anything. A little boy tried to sell me 1 stick of chewing gum for more than what it was worth. And Yes, they do sell fruit on the side of the roads. Tariq is right. I went to Jamaica for spring break one year and couldn’t believe how underdeveloped the towns were where the locals lived as we were going to our resort. We stayed close to the resort and I kept my passport on me at all times. I was never so glad to leave a place.

I'm Jamaican and and the Jamaican caller he's lying. Jamaica is still under the British monarch as of 2024 never had any presidents, only prime ministers who are appointed by the governor general. Jamaica is the second poorest country in the Caribbean after Haiti so its very much 3rd world and riddled with crime. There are more Jamaicans living outside of Jamaica than in Jamaica and that's telling.
