1. Tune 2. Downpipes 3. Thermostat/oil cooler valve 4. Hitch 5. Exhaust Then again, the previous owner was nice enough to lower it 3 inches, install an AVIN screen, and upgrade to the facelifted LED headlights. We got super lucky finding our X5M.
@@EliteBimmers I modified the stock muffle to make the M button a straight pipe and added an x pipe in the middle where it gets close together. It definitely sounds better, but I don't love it. I likely won't do down pipes any time soon, but I will definitely ceramic coat them the stock ones.
@@EliteBimmers Downpipes improved the turbo sounds but since the stock trans flash ALWAYS wants to go into 6th which inceases drone...nothing M mode and/or Sport mode will fix.
Love your videos! I have an E61 M-Sport and I'm thinking I might replace it with an E70 X5M. How has the X5M been as far as reliability goes? Also, I believe all X5Ms after a certain time (I think sometime in 2011) have the combox and should have BT audio streaming, but I could be wrong.
Thank you for your feedback! I owned our 2011 X5M for more than 4 years and had zero mechanical issues. As of October 2021, ours crossed the 93k miles mark. Our E70 X5M is a 2011 model but has a build date of late 2010, with no BT streaming. I know it can be added, not a very expensive or complicated add-on. If I would shop for e70 x5m now, I would go for a late model year, like 2013.
Hello, from Seattle! Love your Channel. I have 2008 E70 4.4L Sport. Can’t wait to upgrade to newer 2011-15 X5 M !
Thank you for your comment! Hopefully you will get one of those! They are wonderful cars!
The X5M is extremely quick and agile out the box. Ive tested them at the BMW M Academy (vid available). It is a very impressive SAV.
I agree. Most of the time I forget that I'm driving an SUV (SAV).

Nice! I love your X5M!
Downpipes are my number one priority. What exhaust system you are thinking to get?

I read that coating may improve heat management dramatically. I will wait to see your results.
@@EliteBimmers hopefully I'll have some time this fall to really do a bunch of small upgrades like magnetic drain plugs and exhaust wrap.

Also front side?..
any OEM style android head unit with apple carplay option for the e70 ???
I don't like how it looks here 2:30 I prefer the OEM look
Yes, there’s an option for CarPlay that leaves OEM head unit. m.unichip-tec.com/pd.jsp?pid=26&pid=26
Not cheap, but keeps OEM style.
@@EliteBimmers
thanks is there an android head unit but keep the OEM looks like not sticking out
Probably, I will look.
Do you still have the x5?
No, had to sell it.
@@EliteBimmers reliability issue? or?
No issues. Had to sell X5M and E46 M3 to get money for the construction of our house.
