    It’s so sad that the rest of the world haven’t been aware about this disaster. 🙁 All we ever hear about is fires in Australia, main Europe and USA. You poor souls have had your very own struggle to fight this huge fire.
    Thank God for the firefighters and civil helpers, both out in the hot zone and especially in the kitchens.
    You are all heroes.
    You are all brave.

      Just shows when the US is against the East, the western media will only cover what they want the world to know. It’s so sad . Individual countries should not depend on others. Well, done Russia.

    • @linzzzanity
      @linzzzanity Před 3 lety +5

      @@Jezza-rb1hi I heard about it through western media. We always hear news about Siberia and north east Russia burning during summer and I swear people around here can’t wrap their heads around the concept of Siberia being the slightest bit flammable. Siberia is ice 🧊 all year round in the minds of most of my fellow Americans. I swear. They have no idea. Its not that we don’t see the news. I swear people don’t understand how big an area and how, yes its NOT always below freezing. But when that news comes out the west has its fire season. So typically Americans are shocked that it can burn at all. But we also don’t think anyone lives there. 🤡 Honestly, middle/ eastern Russia is not a geographical location we know much about, myself included. But that’s why I’m on this channel. 🙂
      What we heard was that the fires were larger than all of the other fires in the world combined. But biggest news was the amount of emissions which were being released by the trees which had been trapping so much carbon. That made news all over. And the satellite images were breathtaking. Heartbreaking. California had a record year too. And fire season is just getting started. But maybe we’ll be ok now. Love to you all. We heard!. Don’t quiz us! we’re learning slowwwwly.

    I live in the US. I did hear a few news stories about the fires in Siberia. It was frightening to me to hear this. The US west has a lot of hot, desert climates. So there is some expectation of fires each year. Siberia is different. A land that has perma-frost and extremely cold winters is not a place I'd expect to be punished by extreme heat in the summers, drought or large fires. I saw a satellite video of the smoke from those fires. It was very disturbing to me. Thank you for sharing this and for doing your part to help.

    Very Interesting to hear that there were wildfires in that part of the world also. There were many wildfires in western USA and Canada. I live in ND and it was very smoky here from the all the fires west and north of us. We've been in a drought for five years with last year being the worst. Many grass fires in my area but our fire dept was able to put them out quickly. It was terrible to see crops and what little grass there was burned as everyone with cattle was short of grazing and hay.

    Thank you for the video and for your hard work volunteering. It's nice to see everyone working together for a common cause. Do you know if your Yakut ancestors ever did controlled burns to prevent fires like this? Is a traditional practice that has stopped recently?

    • @LifeinYakutia
      @LifeinYakutia  Před 3 lety +8

      Yes, controlled fires of meadows in late autumn and spring were traditional way of preventing wildfires. If grass is not burned, it becomes dry grass next year, which burns easily. And also good grass for cattle doesn’t grow well on unburned fields. Because nowadays way less people harvest, a lot of fields are left just wild, unburned and not harvested for many years. It causes a lot of fields with dry grass that burn easily.
      But the government stopped this tradition because they think that it makes more fire.
