I have noticed that when my garden pots or beds are dry, creatures like to dig and rummage through them. With your garden beds, they need to always be moist, it may help keep the chickens from bathing in it.

Lauren water ur soil first..then plant ...that way ur not burning the plant....never water in the sun...been planting for 45 plus yrs
Watering early morning or late at night allows the roots to absorb the water....

There's a fencing called chicken wire. It has smaller holes. Put that up around your raised beds to keeps the girls out.
That would be the best thing anyone can do. But those. Chickens know it’s a free wheeling getaway
We are going to make one of those chicken runs out of the garden and out to the grass to keep them out. I want them to be able to play, but not eat my garden!

I always water from the bottom or use the soaker hose and on hot days i cover with garden netting over the plants if its going to be 90 degrees AND water real early or late. If you don’t fence your garden its a losing battle with the chickens

Looks like you have a drip system in your garden, why not use it plants love slow deep watering like that. Put it on timers and will water for you.

"I squeezed ya too hard, huh?" Too funny! So enjoy your mostly relaxing channel. Those chickens and your kale! You need some veggie cages to keep them out of them. I use a Greenstalk for some of my lettuces and kale so the bunnies, squirrels and some birds won't get them. Amazon and Gardener's supply have those chicken wire veggie cloches that should help until the kale gets too big. Your tomatoes will be okay. Mine here in the DFW area of Texas are already going crazy with fruit. We just need less rain now to make them ripen to yellow and red.
You could attach a very thin burlap to your garden fencing that sun can shine thru but keeps chickens out 😊

Chickens are naughty tho many folks don't realize that. You're definitely on the right track with the impromptu fencing. If you want to keep allowing the chickies to roam, you'll need to either get a tighter metal fencing or attach some chicken wire to the wire fencing you just installed. We have been getting lot's of rain here, haven't been able to cut the grass because of the rain but at least the gardens are getting a good drink, I'm worried about my raspberry bushes hope they are OK they took a beating in the winter with all the snow and cold and high winds so I'm hoping they are OK, same goes for my strawberries, I planted potatoes a few weeks ago I can't wait till they are all ready awhile from now lol fresh potatoes from the garden are so good. Suggestion, leave the fence up, but put chicken wire around that, they won't be able to get into the Kale garden. It can be a pain in the butt, but it will save your from replanting all the time.
You could buy a shade sail house structure to go over your whole bed you should be able to get ones that will fit over the tomatoes and every thing. It will keep the bugs that eat your tomatos away and will protect your beda from your chickens. But is will let the aun through. Or you'll just have to make a new door out of their enclosure that goes out to the grass and fence of the entry way into your garden. You can also grab an old tire and fill that with soil in their enclosure for them to dirt bath in.
You can also add chicken wire mesh to surround the beds.
The last part with chickens on both arms killed me🤣😂🤣she evicted them from the kale sooo fast..use the same size of fence as the chicken coup 1 or smaller..that could work

Lauren, you need to place flexible fencing around your plant beds. It is rubber and all you need are a pole in each corner and attach it. All your hard work is being munched away....OR clip the wings of your feathered friends🤔 it's your garden...but it's alot of time and $$$

We have an automatic watering system but its broken, hope to get it fixed over the long weekend.

Yes, castor oil is a natural wonder. It will help your eyebrows grow back (have patience). Also it is the best make up remover, and moisturizer. You can stop buying 90% of beauty products and just use castor oil. I have been using it for years.

lol! I have just been using this stuff amzn.to/4bNE9nO and its been pretty amazing. I use an eyelash brush before bed on my eyebrows and lashes and I am seeing new growth!! Wish I had listened to my mama!
