- Venice, Los Angeles - May 117, 2024: On Friday, a significant cleanup operation was conducted at Venice Beach, targeting a local homeless encampment with the involvement of a multi-agency task force. This team comprised members from the Los Angeles Police, Los Angeles Park Rangers, the Los Angeles Police Department, the City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works, Recreation and Parks, Clean Harbors Environmental Inc., the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA), and the office of Councilwoman Traci Park.
The operation was safely and efficiently managed with the presence of Los Angeles Police Officers and Park Rangers. It marked a concerted effort among the Department of Public Works, Recreation and Parks, and Clean Harbors Environmental Inc. Team members donned protective gear to sort and appropriately dispose of both hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
This cleanup is part of the City of Los Angeles' broader strategy to address homelessness while improving public health and sanitation. It underscores the city’s commitment to addressing these pressing urban challenges.
Additionally, the initiative at Venice Beach includes weekly maintenance of beach restrooms, which are often used as shelters by homeless individuals. This effort aims to enhance public facilities and directly tackle homelessness issues. LAHSA plays a crucial role during these operations by providing support services including food, water, and hygiene kits, reflecting a compassionate approach to the crisis.
Notably, no citations for public camping violations were issued during this cleanup, indicating the city's preference for supportive over punitive measures.
This cleanup is part of a series of ongoing actions, including regular Friday cleanups along the Venice Beach Boardwalk, all under the supervision of Los Angeles Park Rangers. These initiatives are essential components of the city’s comprehensive strategy to maintain cleanliness and safety while addressing the root causes of homelessness. Effective coordination by Councilwoman Traci Park continues to be crucial, highlighting a balanced and humane approach to these challenges.

The Venice Beach Crier never disappoints. Always puts on his act.
Venice Beach Crier in Act #2 of "The Life of an American Drug Lover."
😪💔 it’s really sad what Venice turned out to be.. it was a yearly destination taking my family there. It was fun place now it’s dangerous and disgusting.
2:25 She needs to realize that anyone in a public place can be recorded. She can’t sue. Get real.
just when I was thinking "those handball stadium steps would be a nice place to sit and watch the ocean"... BAM! they turn the corner, and each handball court is a living unit.
They seriously need night time security around the washrooms.....
Looks like a lovely place to vacation. 🤮
It never ends yikes
Low physical fitness standards for park rangers.
Welcome to the 21st century
That female parks ranger can barely walk.
@@lisjones6874 oh come on. She was walking just fine.
@@Cassie00111you must be quadriplegic 🙉🙊🙉🤪😄
New laws need to take effect and unforced, our beaches are turning into a garbage dump.
That's impossible. They banned plastic straws.😀
Remove bathroom doors!
@@user-jc7jb3bu5s that or look them up during the night.
It's California...
@@alimcally279 it’s the politicians that run California, but maybe that’s what you’re implying.
5:12 How would like it when you go buy more charcoal and come back and find the grill is gone lol
Don't leave things out if you don't want them stolen. They should've brought it with them to the store if it mattered so much, lol
This guy with the black beard moves right into a cleaned John and moves right back in. Plays the LA homeless suffle very well. No one is intimidated by the NO POWER PARK RANGERS. The streets belong t0 the lawless as we now have to lock up products in stores!
He plays crazy. When he got into it with a black guy and the black guy rode off with his bike, he all of a sudden became VERY lucid, looking for help from the people standing around. Hilarious.
Thanks for sharing your videos Fabian.
The fire dept needs to power wash the restrooms.
Remove doors...there...fixed it!
Shopping carts are around $250-$400.
Aluminum dolly and shopping carts are a nice waste of landfill space...
I can’t believe the amount of good scrap metal that goes to the landfill. Yet the CA government forces tax paying citizens to recycle or be fined.
Tip to the homeless: Less is more. Travel light.
That nasty sock could have walked to the truck itself.
The cleanup is every Friday. Everyone knows this. If Ken and the crew want the carts, why don’t they collect them BEFORE the Park Rangers show up and just take them rather than complain! Easy solution!
Darth Vatress (Caseworker in Jeans) Stikes again.... 🤣
Nike shorts dude needs some serious help.
Mental hospital
I’ve often wondered why he’s not been forced into a conservatorship. I mean he is on the extreme end and he’s really gonna wind up killing someone or himself if he remains in his current state.
No he doesn't. it's an act for him, he's just a lazy drug addicted thief.
@sunsensational I agree. For some strange reason, the state of California thinks letting mentally ill and drug addicted people sleep in public bathrooms, under bridges and on sidewalks is compassion. It isn't good for the homeless or the residents who are afraid to bring their kids to the beach.
Every week they kick out that same guy. Nothing ever done.
Hate to see a good bar-b-que go to waste.
Sad😢
Easy way to fix the Venice beach restrooms
There is a very easy and cheap way to protect and clean the restrooms at Venice Beach. First, change the DOORS so they are open by one foot at the bottom, so that way it can be seen if someone is inside, and parents can monitor their children for safety. Then install a power wash hose, so the restrooms can be opened, sprayed with disinfectant, and simply power washed each morning. They are already outside entry to be multigender, but take ridiculous time to clean them, and being enclosed they invite drugs and sex trafficking. JUST CHANGE THE DOORS DOORS.
imagine being a police officer and your capt tells you your job is public restroom cleanup, not what you went to the academy for, what a waste of time and effort
Was it Daisy’s day off?
People are coming thousands of miles just to have daisy healing them.....some quotes....dear hard up..
Daisy was there you could hear 23.51 her doing her yelling in the back ground and at one part you could see her flipping her skate board in the air 😂
How sad, the mental deterioration of using drugs. One of millions who have falling to addiction, across the United States.
Mental illness untreated is a big factor.
I wonder who is making all the money caahing in scrap metals. . bicycle frames hand trucks all aluminum very high rate in scrap yard
"Housekeeping!"
The homeless people treat the city workers like their bitch. They have to clean up all their trash
NOT WORTHY. OF TAX DOLLARS TODAY! 🤡🤡🤡
25:19. I've seen this guy a few times and he always seems to be 'bawling'. Then he punches himself. Really messed up.
Seems like they do this once every 6 months…. Great solution
If I littered i would be fined jubject to jail?
Homeless go nuts if you throw away anything that rolls. 😂😂😂😂
Of course, when the caveman discovered the wheel, it was all over from there lol
The man in black, moaning,,,,He just hit himself..Self injurous ppl like that are usually confined as not to injure themselves , or othr ppl...I am not saying he isn't t capable of normalcy, of some kind, but he needs help, and a bath....He possibly has scabies, which are contagious, but really needs to be elsewhere, where there is help..
That is the same guy that spit on one of the workers a couple of weeks ago.

And week after week they just let him go. It’s not if he hurts someone it’s when.
I think i'm watching a slowmotion movie.
39:14 Fletch
It probably would cost money to enclose that beach, but that’s the way I would do it and just have a way for them to come in and out the people that wants to enjoy the beach because that’s that’s just too much trouble and it’s costing you money just to clean it
I would like to know why LA clean up the beach and the people come back the homeless people that’s what I’m talking about. I mean that’s an ongoing process people that really wants to go to that beach really don’t want to go because it’s that healthy enough to go
2:27 Oof!
But it comes with the territory of this documenting/video journalism, I'd think so :P
Stay safe everyone
It's about time.
So they’re just throwing ppls stuff away?
Kinda sad they are taking away some of the grit that makes Venice Venice. Wish I moved there when jt was cool. Sad how not a single worker actually wants to help. Tbeu just don’t want them sitting there
next day, same thing
its not a laughing matter
This work can be done by two people. So many people go and clean 😂 the city budget is spent.
the workers will save a drill but not a perfectly good large dolly
NOT HELPING JOB .
Wheres lazy Daisy
Where’s the queen of Venice beach, she hasn’t been in any videos lately, 😢
Which one?
Really, never mind
