In this video, I try to answer my most asked questions which really are about luggage and what is allowed. I hope y'all not only enjoy this one but, come away better prepared for the tour portion of your Alaska CruiseTour with Princess. Much love and hugs all around!

    The way they take care of travelers, sounds like…. how easy a ‘smart phone’ makes it for me to use. Maybe we shouldn’t over think it people!! Follow the rules, and smile!!! Someday I hope to cruise to Alaska.

    Hi Arlynn, you covered a lot of important information and you did it so well. You should be a travel agent in your “spare time” just kidding. 😊 My husband and I went to Alaska several years ago and we hope to go back. You are right, once you have experienced Alaska, there is a longing to do it all over again. It is a fabulous cruise. Thanks for the video and I loved hearing the excitement in your voice as you spoke. ❤️❤️❤️

      Hahahaha Patricia, do you know what girl, I think I would enjoy being a travel agent if all that I had to do was sell Alaska Cruises. I have learned so many new things in the last 6 years that I'm not sure I want to start a whole new career...hahaha. I know about Alaska though, so that would be easy. ;) ❤

    Thank you so much, you've sure put me at ease about the luggage. I was stressing so much. We're going next month June'23 on Holland. It sounds like you're saying I keep my bag that goes under the plane seat with me on the land portion? Then I will have 1 that that will meet me at the next lodging facility? And 1 bag will meet me at the ship ? Each bag will be packed appropriately.

    Glacier Bay is my happiest of happy places too!! I could cruise Glacier Bay every day - watch/hear Margerie glacier calving - and have the ship do the 360° slow spin in l Glacier Bay !!
    I’ve never done the land portion - I think it would be too much for me to do - physically- even with the scooter - so much to see & so many hotel/lodge changes (on & off the buses - lighter packing for the train - and for me - fear of losing my carryon with my meds).
    Good thing I’ve gotten to see the land portion watching CZcams videos (lol 😂)!
    BTW - you are so fortunate to have your very sweet & helpful husband with you!! Chris is a great guy - you are very blessed!

      Hi Sweet Bonnie, yeah, the land tour is not for the faint of heart girl, that is for sure. It will be arduous on my the next time I do it I think...it is because of Chris that I think that I could handle it though as you mention he is a great guy and I agree girl, I am so very blessed to have him. LOVE you lady friend!!! ♥

    Omg thank you so much for the info and the link . I need to read the info now but I am planning to take backpack/carryon / big luggage and I am doing the land post cruise. Will that mean that one of my luggage will be waiting for me at the last lodge or will be keep in port for when I come back from my land cruise to then go home???

    Great tips! We have 4 in our stateroom so I've been suggesting we only bring rollaboards due to space limitations. I assume those can be both onboard the ship and the "join me tonight" luggage? Reading the FAQs and it does not say it can't be...

    • @ArlynnsCountryCraftCorner
      @ArlynnsCountryCraftCorner Před rokem +1

      Hi Sara, as I mentioned in the video, each person is allowed one suitcase of any size on the land portion, the size is only limited by the largest checked bag that you can take for your airline and Princess will transport that suitcase from Lodge to Lodge along the way as you move through your land tour. Beyond that, if you have more luggage it will need to be tagged as join me on the ship or join me in Anchorage/Fairbanks, depending on when your cruise tour is before or after your cruise. So again, each person is allowed, one suitcase of any size, size determined by your airline only, and one carry-on bag that is like a backpack or tote. Rolling carry-ons with wheels will not work for the bag that you keep with you throughout the tour… Meaning that you keep with you on the train and bus transport.

    Thank you for your video on Alaskan Cruise tours. My husband and I will be taking our first Alaskan Cruisetour in a few weeks. Our land tour follows our cruise. Will we be allowed to add some items from the cruise portion of our trip to our luggage for the land tour? We know we won’t need formal wear on land, but expect to need coats, rain shoes, clothing layers, etc. on both the cruise and land portion since we will be participating in many excursions both from the cruise and from the land. Thank you.

    • @arlynnstravels
      @arlynnstravels  Před rokem

      Hi Linda, you both will be allowed to take one suitcase of any size (size only determined by the largest checked bag that you fly with) to take on the land tour. You will be given tags when you are still on the ship, so you can configure your luggage content in any way that you'd like to do so while you are packing to leave. You will be provided with luggage tags to go on your suitcases, 2 "Join me Tonight" tags for the suitcases that you want to follow you throughout the land tour--princess will move them for you, and the rest will have "Meet me in Anchorage/Fairbanks" (wherever your tour ends). Here is a link to Princess CruiseTour FAQs, all information about luggage is located here along with many other pertinent faqs. :)

    QUESTION and Thank you for you advice to read through the F&Q. It was very informative & interesting. My question, I can’t seem to find an answer to is. What is the difference between “On your own” & “Denali Explorer”? The descriptions seem so similar. And are on the same ship? Please let me know.

Safe and happy travels to you and your's and thank you so very much for your kind words!! 💗

    Crazy question…How will Princess know where to deliver the luggage to? We are doing a land tour at the end of the cruise from Whittier to Anchorage. The tour states 2 drop points…the airport and the hospitality center. We are staying 3 extra days in Anchorage and need to be sure we receive our luggage.

    • @ArlynnsCountryCraftCorner
      @ArlynnsCountryCraftCorner Před rokem

      Hi Pamela, I am answering from my other CZcams channel’s name, but this is me. Princess will drop your luggage at your last location on your cruisetour on the last day of your tour. Beyond that you will be in charge of your luggage again. You will be given luggage tags while still on the ship that you will put on your luggage and that’s how they will know where to deliver it.

    My land is first for my land cruise. When do I send my bag to the ship? (Meet me at the ship) when I get to Fairbanks from the airport when we get to lodge that night or before we go to next lodge location?

    • @ArlynnsCountryCraftCorner
      @ArlynnsCountryCraftCorner Před 2 měsíci

      You will receive a packet of information on arrival in Fairbanks at the hotel. It will tell you everything you need to know, and it will contain the correct luggage tags and you can choose, which tags go on which pieces of luggage. :)

    Am I correct in saying we need 1 land suitcase, 1 cruise suitcase and 1 backpack or tote bag?

    • @arlynnstravels
      @arlynnstravels  Před rokem

      Hi Paula, no not quite right girl. You are allowed to take one suitcase *per passenger* of any size, size only limited by your air carrier for checked baggage on the land portion of your cruise tour and Princess will transport that luggage from lodge to lodge during your land tour. Also, each passenger is allowed one backpack or tote bag the size of which I mentioned in the video. If you have luggage over and above that amount of luggage, it will be sent on to the ship if you are doing your tour before your cruise or on to your last land destination if you are doing land after the cruise.

    • @arlynnstravels
      @arlynnstravels  Před rokem +1

      Hi Tammie, if you are traveling with Princess and have booked your land tour through them, then yes, they will do all of the transferring of that large suitcase from Lodge to Lodge. It should be there on your arrival or at some point during that day. It is transported separately via truck usually.

      Hi Tammy, I’m answering you from my other CZcams channels name. Each passenger, as I mentioned in the video, is allowed, one suitcase of any size, size only limited by your airline for checked baggage, that princess will transport from Lodge to Lodge. Anything over one bag per passenger and one little carry backpack/tote bag princess will want you to send on to the ship. You will be given a packet of information at your first destination on your itinerary on your land tour and the luggage tags will be in that package.
