    I’m not young at 50 ! Got stunned by Speed 400’s price and made an instant decision to book it it even though I didn’t have any plans for a 3rd bike (after Hero Honda Karizma and Kawi Vulcan S)..
    Just did a 150 Km breakfast ride today and I can’t be happier with the overall ride quality (smooth engine, linear power delivery, tractability, agility and handling ), so no more regrets, no more guilt (for my impulse purchase) !

    You're right about the comparison of the Speed 400 with the first gen Pulsar. This is how the new Pulsar should have looked and that is how I view it. Since most of the engineering man-hours were invested by Bajaj, I think the spirit of the Pulsar is within this bike. I have yet to test ride it, though. My views may change then.

  • @pronoP2
    @pronoP2 Před 9 měsíci +3

    I can agree with you when comparing the classic with speed 400, but the Hunter I feel gets replaced by the speed 400 hands down. It is marketably better than the Hunter in every aspect of the bike, albeit it engine tuning which is a preference. Plus it is in the same market segment, modern classic. It's an urban commuter with the chops for your weekend countryside ride. And in that aspect the Speed 400 clearly outclasses the Hunter.

    • @abhishek9958222937
      @abhishek9958222937 Před 9 měsíci +1

    At 65 am itching to get on the Triumph 400 . Was waiting for a long long time for something along these lines . The Honda Highness did not have me enthused enough to buy it . After having done 150000 kms ++ over a 12 year period from 1984 to 1997 on the Yamaha RD350 was missing something sprightly , zippy and quick. There was no way I was going to look at the baba aadam ka stable of bikes from RE after making them eat dirt on the highways for thevtime that I had the RD350.

    I had an opportunity to test ride X440 a couple of days back mechanically the bike did not seem to have any issues at all was smooth no hiccups nothing....I confirmed with the Harley salesperson who happens to be a friend that there are rumors that this bike is being recalled(test drive units) for some fueling issue...he told me Hero had this plan even before the media rides were organized and pulling off actually allows them to rework on fit and finish issues and get the real customer feedback so that the first batch that comes out is perfect...the unit that I test rode had its throttle cables clipped this shows Hero is trying desperately to ensure quality

    I love my 2022 classic 350. If the Hunter was 400cc I would have bought it too. Due to some stupid rules in my country, all sub 400cc bikes arent allowed in the Expressways/Tollways. I can ride Classic 350 only because I slapped a “Classic 500” sticker on it. I can tell you which one I wouldn't have and that's the "Triumph" 400. This bike has very little to do with the Triumph brand and is merely there to fill a gap in their line up. Triumph are a spiteful company that are bitter about the Royal Enfield taking away a large proportion of their classic model line up. Trust me when this thing needs attention you will be looked down upon by the snobbish staff that they now employ at their dealerships. Triumph have lost touch with their customer base and the saddest thing of it all is that they don't even understand why

    While I quite enjoy riding the bike, it has been an absolute disaster till now owning one. Khivraj Triumph Chennai has been absolute rubbish as well. Valvetrain noise which Khivraj Triumph refused to acknowledge and I had to bring the roof down in the showroom, make a scene and write multiple emails to Bajaj/KTM/Triumph before they sent someone from the factory and replaced the entire head assembly - valves, guides, springs, camshafts, rocker arms and all. They were also quite clueless to the cause and have as of now not bothered to disclose the issue which seems to be prevalent on multiple engines to varying degrees though the rhetoric has been.. Do a 1000 kms and the 1st oil change will make it butter smooth. Yeah right. I was born yesterday. Some examples are smooth and refined (esp the ones put on test ride duty) and some are pure garbage and need some serious intervention like mine. Now the cone set has failed and is awaiting replacement (parts are shared with the pulsar NS, yes the part nos match). The bike was delivered with a dent on the tank (tank replaced on Day 1), the odd nuts and bolts loose (exhaust header, exhaust heat shields etc), no coolant in the reservoir, scratch on the instrument console (the buggers wipe it with the same soiled cloth they use to clean the wheels and other muck on delivery day and there were too many other problems to deal with to really fuss about this scratch on day 1), bubbling paint on the headlight rim (awaiting replacement next), bar end mirrors not torqued properly that they would keep spinning around the bar, tyre pressures set to 36PSI front and back (Reco is 26 and 33 respectively) and almost zero fuel in the tank (gauge was not showing a single bar). Talking about fuel and tank, the fuel gauge has a mind of its own. I've owned the 1st gen Caliber, Eliminator 175, Pulsar 200 2nd gen DTSi, Avenger 200 Oil Cooled, 1st gen KTM Duke 200, 2nd Gen KTM Duke 390 all from the Bajaj stable and never faced such issues either with upfront quality or the service center listening to your issues. Put a Triumph sticker on it and they believe the name overshadows crappy quality levels and even crappier service support from Khivraj Triumph Chennai. A huge no of parts are from the Bajaj stable ... yes... part nos match for a huge bunch of components. This bike is an amalgamation of the Duke, Dominar, Pulsars, Avengers and others. Nothing bad about that. Keeps cost down. But stop pretending that this has come all the way from Hinckley. They need to sort the bike out and their dealers out more before people start seeing it for what it really is. I still like the bike tho. Just wish the support was something to crow about.
