Brianna .G. It wasn't because they dilated, if that's what you're thinking. Simply put, their eyeballs rotate around (their pupils turn to the back of their heads) to protect them in case their prey decides to attack back. This evolution helps prevent damage to their sight.

I think one of the reasons why people see dolphins as happy and friendly is that they seem to smile all the time, they don't. TheUrbanPsycho its because of a special thing they have in their body, that starts in the nose and goes to the back of the Shark. With it they feel where animals are in the Water or other thnings. (Fun fact, Sharks can smell a wound in your feet over 3 to 5 miles!)
