  • Kate Van Winkle Keller, an authority on 18th century English country dance and related forms of dance and music, discusses developments in the history of social dance in England, France, and the American colonies. The 90-minute interview was conducted in 2011 for the Square Dance History Project so the focus is on the various dance forms that are antecedents of American squares: the cotillon / cotillon, contredanse français, and quadrille.
