Taking a tour around this limited edition Superlight, build No. 190 of what we understand is a production run of just 196 examples, what immediately strikes is that whilst this Seven may be deminutive in stature, it certainly makes up for in its presence! Finished in Lamborghini Orange with stunning exposed Carbon fibre nose cone and wings this isn't a car for the shy and retiring......not that we'd really think that of any Seven, these lightweight sports cars mean business, whether its blasting down 'B' roads or more sensibly letting loose on the track! The body remains in exceptional condition, evidenced further by our additional 'wheels' off images and underbody shown in our 'walk around' video. There's the odd stone chip low down, but panels remain damage free and we struggle to think that this car has ever been caught out on a wet road....though we've even included the odd image of the car wearing her 'wet weather' gear. The 5.5J Minilight style alloys are in first class order and come shod with the many a owners preferred choice, Avon ZZS tyres.
The interior too remains equally impressive, though maybe lacking 'mod-cons'....the Seven Superlight harks back to the Colin Chapmans, Lotus founders original mantra 'Add lightness'. The Grp / leather clad seats with diamond pattern quilting are in super condition and once seated and adjusted for 'comfort' .... or more importantly the perfect driving the position there's simply no moving, the quick release Momo steering wheel perfectly positioned. As for storage, lift the 'boot' vinyl access panel behind the the ARCH - RAC / FIA homologation roll hoop and there's enough space for a pair of rucks sacks and a sandwich!
Mechanically the Caterham Seven Superlight is a delight. Ignition on, immobiliser deactivate and push the 'START' button and Rover K series engine bursts into life with a bark / braap through the four branch manifold and single side exit exhaust. The six speed gearbox is rifle sharp, steering super direct and brakes rasor sharp. At just 468kg the K series propels this Seven Superlight at mind-focusing rate of knots, if you're familiar with a performance bike, add four wheels and there you have it! History for this 2002 example is impeccable too, 12 services (Caterham, Specialist) with a further cambelt service in 2023, now showing just 27,300 miles. There's invoicing for circa £4k, she comes with her original owners handbook, pervious Caterham Cars bill of sale, her wet weather gear, 17 previous MOT's back to 2006 and naturally ahead of sale she'll be inspected, serviced and come with a new 12month MOT.
In limited production guise this Caterham Seven represents exceptionally well, unique with her exposed carbon fibre panels and offers those looking for instant thrills a rare opportunity to own one of circa 200 examples built, this Caterham Superlight is a belter!

Reminds me of the Lotus Super Seven. Even today, it's a car that will surprise almost everyone!
