    Lovely to watch Ian doing what he does best. I was fortunate to have met Ian and did a study project of his work. This was many years ago (about 25 years ago) when Ian was doing a series on Shakespear characters and masks. He was very generous with his time and I have admired his work ever since. Would I be right in saying that you're his son James ?

    I very much enjoy these instructional videos, which I stopped watching after I sent the hand sanding to you. I just realised I'll never even hope to be that good without a teacher.

    whats best for carving green or seasoned wood and do leave the eyes for last after you carved the face thank you

      Seasoned wood is always better for carving. Green wood will warp over time. Fine detail is often best left till last so you don't damage it.
