Such as in Western countries, we have Good Samaritan laws to protect people trying to help strangers in trouble if the rescue goes south. But, for example, in China there was this famous case of a man saving a woman he saw in trouble, for her to turn around and sue him even though he was the reason she was still alive. Afterward there were many cases of people dying slow deaths on the street because people we afraid to help. They were pretty heartbreaking videos to watch.
And that's not even mentioning how culturally frowned upon it is to talk about about anything unpleasant, cause a commotion (even if it's the death of a person), or the fact that companies will tell other businesses not to hire you to ruin not just your career, but your relatives' too.
