I owned one for over 20 years. If it hadn't been for the wasser boxer, I'd still have it. (I had to replace the head gaskets every 25000 miles. Became too much of a chore.) But the best thing about it was its handling. I loved driving it!
Two words I would've never associated with each other
My wife already thinks I am insane (on my 12th Vanagon) but NOW I know that I have a tribe out there somewhere! This is awesome - I am still trying to get mine to go up hills in a way that logging trucks aren't cursing at me.

My favorte ones were the Green and white one at 7:20, the silver one and the white one that got sideways at 9:28 and 12:16. He was really pushing it.

your bus wont be going 130Mph on the freeway but it makes a HUGE difference in power

It looks like alot of them have extra louvers cut into the rear under the stock vents, what are those for? just more air for the air cooled engines? I have a bay bus that I was thinking about adding more vents.

Porsche AG put rear vents on the sides to provide more engine bay cooling, as they had added the Carrera 3.2 liter engines to several Vanagons for executive factory travel within Germany.
