    Sorry about how bad some of the clips are in this, we filmed this is -7 celsius, the glass was frozen 🤣

    Great video, really helpful, thank you!! Padel is massive in Spain, and I'm going to play my first match today. I play a lot of tennis, so now I know I have to get out of that "back of the court" mindset.

    Immense advice as always. Definitely appreciate your commitment to still film considering the subzero temperature.

    Thanks for sharing those tips !! Now the thing is to apply them on the court.
    The most important tip for me was the last one, not to play tennis 😅. I’ll try to remember this today on my tournament !

    Excellent advice from someone having some lessons. I'm a beginner playing in Spain and lots of Brits play - but many play like its a tennis match - including me for the past 6 months. I'm now having a few lessons and I can't believe how I've picked up so many bad habits and don't really understand the tactics of the game. That said its great great fun and my coaching sessions are brutal! My coach says you have to start every game / point in the "prepared position". Ready to receive, no standing around looking gormless!!! My words not his!

    Nice, really enjoyed this video! So if I understand it right, at a higher level, really the "only" way to hit a killer is fromthe net position? You don't happen to have a video on what the usual ways to kill a ball (at a higher level) from the net position are? :)

    • @EverythingPadel
      @EverythingPadel  Před rokem +1

      Yeh you are right, only try and win at the net, or sometimes when you get an easy high ball off the back wall, you can attack it and try and get a winner. And check any videos on forehand volleys, or víboras, they will help

      @@EverythingPadel Thanks a lot! I will! Padel is quite counterintuitive in many ways compared to tennis, pickleball etc, it's fun! :)

    Why always rush the net on serves? I find guys that do that quite easy to lob, even on good serves.

    • @EverythingPadel
      @EverythingPadel  Před rokem +3

      Even if they do lob you, that isn't a winning shot, it just means you lose the net and they are able to win it. But if you don't go to the net after the serve, the opponent will hit it straight to you, and they will be able to instantly win the net position, where 90% of points are won.

  • @ZoiusGM

    0:16 Isn't number one tip only valuable if your teammate is behind you to cover for potential shots at either side of you that are fast? And if this is true then number five tip becomes less valuable? Moreover, if you are both in front of the net what is the benefit of that; you become vulnerable to fast shots that may not be caught by your reflexes or by shots in the middle, no?

  • @essa8212

    What the hell Net position mean!?

  • @timbarenbrug4958
    @timbarenbrug4958 Před rokem +1

    Why not put ridiculous spin on a serve? If it wins the point that's fine. A serve that is too easy to return is not preferable. A tricky ball will often result in a failed lob return which often allows you to not only take the net but also attack.

    • @EverythingPadel
      @EverythingPadel  Před rokem +2

      add spin but not too much as in most cases you will lose accuracy

    • @EverythingPadel
      @EverythingPadel  Před rokem +5

      it is a mentality problem as well lots of beginners think they need an insane serve to be good but really they just need a good serve and to take the net position

    • @rainman-
      @rainman- Před rokem +1

      A serve with ridiculous spin is rare because you lose accuracy and power. Plus it's risky since it's fairly easy to read so you'd have to serve it almost perfectly. Remember the whole point of the serve is to pin them back and keep them there while the server and partner are attacking at the net. So you want to be serving deep and with mostly back spin and a bit of side spin depending where you are targeting your serve. As for the return, the Lob is always a good option, however, I'd focus more on low flat returns and even chiquitas can work great if the server is too slow getting to the net. Lob returns are generally good to do when the serve goes down the middle since you'll have time to reposition to cover your side.
