That's about right - leave & go to the heat when it's incredible wintertime at home! 🫤 Your little boy was too cute on the ice. I would have broken every bone in my body doing those tricks!! God bless y'all 👍 🙏 ♥️
Adam, it tickled my heart to see your son having so much. Sorry it doesn't look like you're not going to be able to use your pond much this winter. Stay safe, healthy and warm. Bill H from Cranberry Township
In case you were unaware, one can get tire chains for snowblowers. They are designed to provide more traction on compacted snow and ice conditions. I don't know if they would damage the surface of the ice. The other thing you can do is install a snowblower impeller kit. This will throw the snow much further and prevent the chute clogging with wet heavy snow.
You have a good water source, so I think the pond is still leaking (speaking from experience). But, small leaks often fill in with silt, so don't worry too much, it will most likely "tighten up" over time. It may even take a couple years, but it will get better.
Hi Adam. It is much easier for Anderson to slide, at his height, than for you at 6' 5". Too bad you had so little time to use the ice. In central Alberta, the weather was above freezing until Jan. 10th or so. Then, we had a week of very cold, down to -40 a couple of times. This week, highs will be +3 to +8 C. We have less than 8 inches of snow on the ground. This will not be good for farmers or wildfire risk. Weird weather.
I like how you take common or even mundane situations and break them down to simple equations. Before and after. Observation and conclusions. Numbers and facts. I find it interesting and entertaining and I hope your pond holds water.
Good Sunday morning everyone….thanks for the pond update. You had one heck of a workout clearing that ice. We used to do that where I grew up in Mass. Shovels & skates to make ourselves a hockey rink to play on. Nice seeing your son enjoying it too. Have a day
That looks like blackland or clay soil. The kind that sticks to your shoes and its like gum to get off. Should hold water extremely well. You need to get some grass to grow up to the water level of the pond so it isn’t as muddy when it rains.
Hey Adam, I think you should do an update on your Appalachian trailer and maybe how much you spent for it or the pros and cons of it and is it dual pin or what you like about it?
We always cleared our pond by hand. One time, we got about two feet of snow. We had not worked through the storm to keep our ice clear. One of our neighbors had one of those new fangled snow blowers. He got about a third of our pond cleared before he got too close to the dam, and the blower went through the ice.
Adam, I mean no disrespect, but I had to laugh my butt off watching you running the snowblower over the ice. Great video, as always thank's let's hope for more cold weather your way
Growing up in the 70's, we would clear the snow, cut wholes where the hockey markings would go, and then pump just a skim of water on the rink to make it glassy smooth. If you pump water on top, you can even recover from a small bit of snow being left on top.
Totally agree with enjoying winter but in Minneapolis this year we have not had any snowfall over 2” and currently have no snow on the ground. Warner ocean temps mean warner weather and I hate it.
The CPA ceases with building workpapers, tying out GL accounts, producing financial statements, and now…. creates joy for his family. Nothing wrong with the former, but I suspect the latter can be a lot more rewarding at times! Good job dad.
You may want to start thinking about installing a refrigerated skating rink…not As crazy as you might think and you will be able to skate with your kids from December to March!
I feel the same way here in NE Ohio. We have the exact same weather but even less snow. The mud season is just nothing but yuck. I do feel extremely fortunate to have all of the water. Guess all we can do now is wait for things to dry out... in June, lol 🤠👍
Looking good... Maybe put a few black zip ties at the foot marks for when you can no longer read your marks...I think notching the pipe a little to keep them in place better might help.
Lucky dog to get a little…I have a natural pond in the woods behind my house down in a hole about the same size as yours…but it never got thick enough…I’m jealous as all get out!
glad to see you were able to enjoy it at least for a little bit. i live outside the minneapolis metro area and we were a month behind. started skating on our pond in early January but last week has been so warm i had to take all of my hockey goals, lights, etc off the ice. forecast shows upper 40s coming so i dont think we’ll have another chance this winter.
such a warm winter this year. usually here in upstate NY we have very similar weather to you over there in PA. we've only gotten maybe a total of 1.5 ft of snow altogether and its already all melted too.
Nice work. Try adding a snow thrower kit to your snowblower it really makes a difference and will throw the snow pretty far. Garage Guy has numerous videos on how to install them. I have and it makes a huge difference.
I envied you out there with the snowblower I love running them. I told my daughter who got one this year that I find it almost therapeutic using one, she thought I was nuts But she lives in the Buffalo NY area and they got quite a lot of snow in the last storm and she kind of agreed. Sounds crazy but that's how it work for me. I think Anderson is on to something with his excavator it just needs to be a little bigger. Matter in fact I believe you're friend at Spicer Designs did something to that effect on his pond with his excavator.
Top video! Just a tip when it comes to the snowblower. Most snowblowers will throw the snow further straight forward or to the right due to the design og impeller housing and shute. All my blowers have always thrown the shortest to the left.
Saw a 3pt zamboni for sale the other day on FB marketplace. Feel like you need that for when we get a really cold winter. Maybe a smaller tractor too ha
Glad to see the pond is holding up and you got to enjoy the ice with your son? Who plowed your driveway while you were gone? Neighbor Doug? Gonna be another steak dinner!
Hey Adam! I saw that huge flock of birds. My family went up to eat at Red Lobster. On the way home instead of taking Wilson Shute Road we came back to Franklin on 322 through Meadville. We spotted those birds just as we passed Channel Lock. I've never seen that many birds in one flock,it was kind of ominous. Y'all have a good one, take care and God Bless!!!❤😊
I just loved seeing Andersen out on the ice with his backhoe. He is such a cute young man! Just a thought, can you get a rotary brush for one of your machines to buzz through the snow on the pond?
Maybe a dumb question...What happens to ice when it melts when the temperature increases. I hope the pond fills up and the excess water is drained through the drain pipe..
Adam, thanks for the pond update. We have 82 acres in central Missouri on the south fork of the Osage river and I’m considering building a pond for our cattle and us to play on. You have helped formulate my ideas. What state are you in?
Looks like you have that snow blower set for concrete. Do you change the blade height for gravel or only use it for sidewalks & ice? Glad you got out to have fun on the ice. Anderson is right, snow & ice is more fun.
*JUST SO YOU KNOW...* Your pond is leaking around your standpipe...just like I told you it would back when you spent all that money buying piping for it. Now that the cracks have formed from the freeze....the leaking water is erroding the cracks into larger cracks under increased hydraulic pressures. Great times 🎉 For all of those people who questioned your pond…you can’t use a pool all year in your area! The pond seems to be a great asset for family fun.
Adam, thank you for sharing. Not just your great content, but your family. We are literally watching your children grow up as we enjoy your videos. 👍🏻
I appreciate that! Thank you
Yes Feb is gonna Start warm, all Betz off two weekz in!
Pond is looking great. Now all you need is a little mini Zamboni. :)
he was so happy being out there with you , kids are fearless! Love it
Love your family cruse video but this one every bit as good. Your a great father.

Nothing more fun than playing on the ice.❤
I used to ice skate on the Potomac River and Plat hockey on the C&O canal. Now I am in NC I hear frogs in my pond if it is above freezing.
Your content is great and apreciated. Keep being modest and family oriented - that's the key.
I appreciate that!
I’m a winter person too. We should start a club, there are so few of us.
Glad to see you getting some fun time with your son
I had skates on my feet when i was his age.
Happy to see the drains are working well and you and your son had a little bit of fun time on the ice.

Back in the old days, chains came with snowblowers standard.
I can't believe just how satisfying that was to watch. Around and up, around and down.....

The video we’ve all been waiting for!
So great to see activity on the pond and Anderson enjoying himself. Obviously he's your son since he likes it better than the tropics! Thanks Adam!
Time for an impeller kit on the snowblower?😂🎉❄️
Glad you and Anderson got to enjoy the ice. 👍👍
Hi Adam, have a nice day. Good luck
The pond looks great. Anderson seems to love it as much as you.
Anderson is growing so fast XX
Yes he is
It's definitely an off winter. I love your little guys answer to your question. Amazing how that French drain works.
Welcome to the new normal winter - I hate writing that, but I fear it's what is coming (already here actually)
Glad you got ice for the pound! Hope it fills soon! Thanks for the update!!
Wow, he is growing up so fast! Looks like great flow! I know you love winter but I’m ready for Spring! Enjoy!
Love the videos on just "Living your best life"
Thanks sir!

Adam you go on a trip and come back to rainy weather what a bummer 😮😊❤
Yeah it’s pretty terrible
I was all excited for a pond update but the "excavator" stole the show. I am with you Adam, I love winter and this year has been a bust.
Last winter was too
Cool drone footage. Love kids being kids. Stay safe.

Been waiting for this all winter!!
Me too
Fantastic.. using all of this years winter ! 50’s are coming 😂
Nice update. I love cold weather too
The CPA ceases with building workpapers, tying out GL accounts, producing financial statements, and now…. creates joy for his family.
Nothing wrong with the former, but I suspect the latter can be a lot more rewarding at times!
Good job dad.
Yep. Quite the transition
As a rule of thumb…it takes 10 acres of runoff to fill and maintain a 1 acre pond.
That was cool. I needed a bit of a pond update 😂
Idea for upcoming video. You and Doug could install a second stage impeller kit on the snowblower. It will improve your throwing distance 30-40%.
Thanks for sharing!
You may want to start thinking about installing a refrigerated skating rink…not As crazy as you might think and you will be able to skate with your kids from December to March!
Neighbor Doug needs to make a makeshift Zamboni lol

Good dad’s make ice rinks for the kids.

Google Pull Behind Zamboni they have tractor mounted zamboni attachments.

Check out the grumpy face on the snow blower at 3:33 mark. 😂
February is Maple Syrup season here Adam. Freeze at night and warmer days. Winter isn't over but ice skating might be.
👍

Top video! Just a tip when it comes to the snowblower. Most snowblowers will throw the snow further straight forward or to the right due to the design og impeller housing and shute. All my blowers have always thrown the shortest to the left.
Never even thought of that but that makes perfect sense. Thank you for the tip
We used to use an old indian tank and a broom to "smooth out" the ice for skating n the farm pond. Much smaller pond 😂
Saw a 3pt zamboni for sale the other day on FB marketplace. Feel like you need that for when we get a really cold winter. Maybe a smaller tractor too ha
You need the ManPlow to clear the pond.
hoping for the BEST, on the POND leak-fixing.....
Being an accountant Adam and obviously good with numbers and formulas you can work out expected fill time…?!
My experience with snow and ice is watching the Winter Olympics on TV
Yup, you missed winter. Now it’s mud season again at my place 🙄.
Almost fishing season!
Do you have life saving equipment close to your pond for rescue if need be
Glad to see the pond is holding up and you got to enjoy the ice with your son? Who plowed your driveway while you were gone? Neighbor Doug? Gonna be another steak dinner!
My in laws were here watching Josie so my father in law plowed the driveway
Round up the gang for some hockey!

You can but a rotary broom would only be good for dustings of snow. Any significant snow fall and you’d need a snow blower
That's what we've had in Massachusetts, guys ice fished for 3 day's. Not looking good in the near future
They always want to break the ice!
Pennsylvania
Thanks Adam. Mike Morgan revealed your channel to me and you’re doing a great job.
Looks like you have that snow blower set for concrete. Do you change the blade height for gravel or only use it for sidewalks & ice?
Glad you got out to have fun on the ice. Anderson is right, snow & ice is more fun.
I only use it for sidewalks and ice
Surprised you and Doug haven't built a Zamboni yet.
I have one. I’ve shown it in older videos
We can skate here in southern Alabama but the skates have to have wheels on them...
If we have another wet summer like we did last summer, it could be over flowing
Can you buy a track kit for your snow blower?
Is neighbor Doug making a better Zamboni for your pond?
FYI: selling my boat and buying an excavator! didn't take me long.lol
how much did the pond buiid cost.
Do you have a way to resurface the ice? If not I will look forward to the video with your solution.
I do. I made my own makeshift zamboni. It’s in an older pond video
@@HometownAcres Hope you do another video on that next time it freezes over.
*JUST SO YOU KNOW...*

We used to flod our pond.
You dont have the right weather to be flooding yours.
Just a FYI....CZcams channel Life Uncontained put a solar-powered aerator in their Pond and it made a tremendous difference in pond clarity
Not a waste of time with what you showed with Anderson.
Great times 🎉
For all of those people who questioned your pond…you can’t use a pool all year in your area!
The pond seems to be a great asset for family fun.
You guys shoulda cancelled that cruise.
Not worth the risk, especially if you have kids.
