I previously used a samsung s8 and the camera quality on that phone was enough for me so coming from that phone to this one is an upgrade but I bought this phone for the flagship gaming performance. If you love taking pictures and videos, I'd skip this phone because it's not really made for those two in mind. Don't get me wrong they are both descent on this phone but again, this is a top tier gaming phone first. It depends what you're looking for really. The Red Magic 7 Pro is out now so you could get that phone, it's pretty much top of the line, even compared to the new samsung and iphone flagships BUT If you want amazing camera quality, you'll want an iphone or samsung phone for sure (You could also game on those). So yeah, personally I don't really care about camera quality, just having a flagship phone with top tier gaming performance is what I'm super happy with. Hope this helped!
When it comes to gaming, even the smallest improvements make a big difference. Even a slightly higher frame rate or the such can help you to see the enemy faster than they can, unless they happen to have the same specs as you😂
Nope... When you play at the top and most competitive eschelon of gamers, only then can small differences make a big difference... Doubt that 50-60 fps vs 60-61 fps would make any difference amongst us normies.
The Red Magic phones would be great if they weren't literally obsolete by the time the next phone comes out. Every time I see a post on the red magic Instagram page, it's always about the lack of OS upgrades and customer support. I also know people often complain about some of the text not translating right now in some of the menus. But if that all was squashed they'd be pretty compelling I'd say.
This is what I worry about if I were to switch to this. There's no way I'm going to change phones yearly just to have the latest Android version...and that's important to me. And the development community on xda is tiny (or non existent).

I selected high refresh rate, with headphone jack and no punchhole in GSMArena's phone finder and this thing popped up. Wow, I'm impressed. And only for 630€. I'm not much of a gamer so the battery drain won't be an issue for me. I'll consider buying this beauty ✌🏻
I have been trying to decide whether to get this or the Legion y90 and finally ordered the 18gig ram Red Magic 7. The price point was better for the same if not better specs.
One year later and looking at buying this one. Coming from a Realme X2 Pro currently, which us struggling to play the newest game I like smoothly. Been playing Genshin on this phone for over two years daily, but recently quit and switched to Lost Light, but after the latest wipe/update my Realme is stuttering too much to play it competitively.
Even last year's phone is impressive for running that FPS. Very cool phones for the price if you are a mobile gamer. Willing to bet the competitor phone in the comparison was a Samsung because they are struggling with heat dissipation with the new chip.

My gaming is limited to SPACE ENGINE that requires Windows 7 and struggles no my 8 year old ZOTAC ZOTAC ZBOX. If you can point out competitive Android Games to SPACE ENGINE I would be very interested.
I'm currently on the RedMagic 5g got it when it was released. It's pretty good but after having it for nearly 2y I am probably going to go to either iPhone or Samsung. All phones should have that. People use old Android phones as always plugged in displays, cameras, wifi hotspots etc. Only problem is the batteries wearing over time.
I don't think it's the reason. My Red Magic 6S Pro has this feature since Day 1 and it has 5000mAh battery. However, China variant has only 4500mAh. Perhaps they based the design from the chinese model. It's a very useful feature btw.

no, redmagic 7 has its own tempered glass to buy but there is a pre installed one already when you buy it. 66W charging , all redmagic use the same 66W charger bases. so no worries about it
I bought an owned the 6. I highly advise against purchasing RedMagic devices. You are paying only for hardware specs, their software is absolutely riddled with bugs, and a lack of updates. Just search online for their OS and dive in yourself.
For me the battery capacity and crap camera software is disappointing, because it is important I have these things, I rely on these features. There's a lot of bang for your buck with this handset and the boxes it ticks over what else is out there outshines the competition. Right now the ASUS 5 pro is the only alternative and I still wouldn't choose that over the Red Magic 7 Pro. But i'm hoping ASUS has something special in mind in the run up to August.

Price to performance not only for gaming I went with black shark 4 pro. Had the red magic 6 and love my 4 pro by far.
Plan on holding out to see if they do a redmagic ultra/Pro model then will pick this up in a few months for emulation only

Nice! Thinking about switching to this from Oneplus...finally. You didn't mention the quick charging which could negate the need for a bigger battery.
I don't think quick charging is a good excuse for a weak battery performance since you won't have access to a power source all the time.

ROG Phone always gets announced every middle of the year. It's been a tradition of ZTE Nubia to release new gaming phones every quarter or so.
Even redmagic 6 models gave better performance than Rog 5 models.
