@@emeye6452 Yeah we actually do lol, our lasers are leagues above any russian laser. NGAL, RAID-X, MAWL, AN/PEQ-15, DBAL. ALL full power units are so so much better than the Perst.

Loved my Perst4 so much, I ended up buying another for a 2nd rifle I have. The pricepoint and capability of these allows for multiple solid set ups without (totally) breaking the bank.
Zenitco is also getting into the AR world. They have rails, gas blocks/tubes and a pistol grip.
The only problem is that their stuff weighs a ton. Other than that, they're great.

Fun Fact: cost of living in russia is same if not higher than the US(varies on where you are I presume, of course), so their generally-cheaper prices are absolutely not due to cheaper labour like many seem to think, but rather the companies are just not as greedy. Really, the only slavic country now that still has way lower cost of living is Ukraine, but even that may change at some point. The amount of money those few ukrainian firearm gear companies make is nothing short of crazy, I don't think people realize how fucking badly they are getting ripped off for those svetagor mags, I've never seen something so low-quality being sold for so much, and translated to grivnas that's high af! Whoever came up with the idea of selling them to the states is a genius.
Love my perst 4, has some intuitive features unlike the western units like pulsing when you change the power level and having 2 buttons on the unit itself if you choose not to run the switch.
If you can find a full power stand alone VCEL IR illuminator like a Kiji or pair it with a GCP-2A illuminator/laser it really increases the capability of the perst as you can push past the photonic barrier in situations like you described in the shoot house.
Also, if you pick your desired power level and hold down the button for 5 seconds the unit will “save” whatever power level you chose for the next time you turn it on. Found this very useful if transitioning into a close quarters environment. Anyways awesome video, no one else goes this deep on the perst 4.

Refraction is why there is a halo. Even high energy chemical lasers will have a bit of measurable refraction.

The cause of the flare is because the lens. Any piece of glass refracts light, especially lasers. Concave/ convey lens do it more so around the edges because the edges catch most of the refracting light.

There’s a guy on eBay $10.00 selling flush press fit perst lens covers with holes in it to allow the laser to pass through. But it blocks that bloom you see in the IR reflecting closer to you out to the side an ground.

I love my Perst-4. The one and only issue I have is that my battery dies when not in use, despite being in the central lockout position. It's supposed to be a true off, but that doesn't appear to be the case with mine. Regardless, that's a small issue on an otherwise spectacular laser.
Just FYI in case it hasn’t been mentioned. You don’t use full power during CQB because of the unknown surfaces within the structure. Just my experience and knowledge as prior military and SWAT officer.
This is true. These are easy to adjust in the field.
They need to make an adapter plug so you can match it with American Pressure switches that would allow one push to power both the laser and an Luna ELIR long range illuminator.
Some threads out there with some splicing guides on how to adapt them to other pressure switches.

Just run this bad boy on a lower power and a IR torch, most higher end lights are modular and can be changed between visible or IR heads. This would be the best option IMO

Wow I want this real bad...if I had to LARP, I'd save up and go for the perst w/light. Too many wires running around and too much weight when you have both the IR device and a separate light

finally a real review of this thing. thank you so much. 1 thing id like to add, your draw back to the splash of it being too powerful, any high power 25mW laser suffers from this, but to understand why exactly we use 25mW lasers isnt always for target acquisition when shooting under nods. Its to point out targets to fellow teammates. Not just to show them where the target is, but to show the target in orientation to you. Where they can see the target, then trace the beam back to you. You would typically only run this in an outdoor setting, where the range it would a longer range. You also use it to signal aircraft from afar. Lasso the beam into the sky for the aircraft to search for the beam, then they trace the beam down to the ground and bingo they find you. You can also use it to point out for an aircraft where an enemy position is at night where their FLIR cant see it. If you were gonna run where theres "some" light and shorter range where the ambient light would wash out your laser, thats where the high power settings come into play. Theres just so many applications for IR lasers in a military setting most people dont think about. The only time you SHOULD throw down the power would be indoors, room to room, etc. Like you said, you will get alot of light spill of that beams IR light bouncing off walls. Anyways, thanks for the review. Ive been looking at getting one of these for months 1 - for the price and 2 - for the high power capability. I was stuck between one of these or a a DBAL but not having a high power setting really bugs me until I learned about these. I have heard some rumors (but from people who dont own these) that these have issues maintaining zero - can you confirm that? I feel like if that were true you would have mentioned it but im curious

I like the fact that you didn't need a full length rail for the AK. The full length rail adds too much weight.
How powerful is the green visible laser? Can you clearly see it in bright daylight?
Possibly. Depends on if we’re talking Oregon sunlight or Arizona sunlight. Oregon sunlight I could see the green laser just fine
Unlike American products that are five times the price, this product is not only cheaper but tough like their tanks.

I've been ivan tactical for sometime, couldn't tell if it was safe to use.
I know several people who’ve ordered from them and we’ve never had issues.
I legit buy from there all the time. If you're like me and worried about those crazy russian hackers/government surveillance from both us and Russia going on, I'd highly recommend creating a privacy.com card and using just that. Look it up on how to use it, couldn't recommend it enough, not just for international ordering but also regular online shopping

I have been using a parallel zero so I try to favor right when aiming with the laser.
Is the whole unit waterproof ?
Didn't found that info on their site, maybe somewhere in social media. But most probably something similar with ipx-7, their Клещ flashlights are waterproof.
Apparently they're only water resistant so it can handle rain and that but I wouldn't do any maritime shit with it

Yea. The fda only regulates the sell of full power laser from made in the USA products. Even those are legal to own, you just can’t purchase or get support for them as a civilian. The Perst by Zentico isn’t regulated as it’s manufactured in Russia.
Be better if they replaced the green laser with an ir illuminator.
Unfortunately it’s not that simple. You’d have to look at a Perst 3 instead.

Zentico (the Russian manufacturer) has an eBay store. The cheaper ones are clones. Purchase from the Zentico store on eBay or Ivan Tactical online to receive a proper unit.

TBH - I bought a knock-off SOTAC PERST-4. Highlights of the knock-off include (My favorite lol) 5 levels of brightness [highest setting is only 5mW], no pulse mode, no button for steady on, no quick detach, no TURBO mode, caps cannot be used to make alignment adjustments, visible range is under 300yds, (2nd favorite) device-labeled website takes you to a website selling knockoff Zentico parts, and if you hold the momentary button down for 3 seconds it will lock the the beam on.
Oh, and on mine out of the box, the beams were not slaved and you could only adjust the visible beam - IR beam would not move at all and was pointed downward off by several feet at 30 yds.
