Shear pins are our best friend. Always carry spares. Need to balance risk with cost. Nice machine love to try it out.

Having grown up on a farm, any attachment that makes you look back to the rear a lot tires me really fast.

Boyd W If you mount the snowblower on the front and then you lose your loader, your plow and your ability to stack snow. The way this snowblower works I'll take it any day of the week and twice on Sunday. I sure wouldn't want to shovel that amount of snow! LOL

I'm surprised more companies don't offer a reversible control station. Pulling lots of attachments made my neck sore.

If you do a lot of snow blowing, you can get and inverted snowblower that hooks to the 3 point hitch. They are great for doing residential driveways. Allows you to blow snow while driving forward. When you have lots of snow to deal with, one can't be a snowblower (of any size) for snow clearing.

Hey Charles. How does that tractor handle that snow? Are you happy with it or wish you would have gone smaller blower. I have a 60 hp massey2860m and in thinking of going with the 80 inch trc

The L5740 handles this blower just fine. This is a very heavy duty snowblower. You could also step down one model and that would be perfectly fine also. This is a bottle as large of snowblower is I would care to put on a 60 hp tractor but it handles it perfectly fine. It is 84 inches wide.

@@Celeco4948 P-720TRC-80 is the one I am looking at it's an 80 inch with the rotating drum which really intrigues me. What benefits have you noticed with the rotating drum? Also I think your blower is a group 2 and this one is a group 1 that I am looking at.

@@bigtimegolfer3668 The snowblower you’re looking at is an outstanding choice. It will be a little bit lighter than mine, but your tractor will handle it perfectly. The rotating drum blows snow a lot farther with less horsepower. The chute will throw it in different directions the rotating drum will move a tremendous volume of snow to the left or right with incredible efficiency.

@@Celeco4948 thank you for all your input, how has your blower held up? Pronovost from what I hear is supposed to me a good machine, but never physically got my hands on one in north Dakota. I have to order one through JD dealer so I wonder how much of an upcharge there is.

@@bigtimegolfer3668 Pronovost snowblowers are about the best quality out there. Mine is built like a tank, incredibly durable, incredibly well-made. It would never wear it out. Like anything well made they can be pricey, but they are the best out there. They’re manufactured in Canada.

There isn't any snow coming out of the chute. Where is it coming out?

David Clark Thanks for the comment David, the snowblower has a hydraulic rotating drum which will rotate from the left to right side. I can blow the snow out of the shoot left or right or out of the hydraulic drum directly from left to right the advantage of the drum is that uses about half the horsepower and will blow the snow twice as far. The advantage of the chute is you can directly pin point to where you want it. The hydraulic drum is really cool if you have lots of room to blow the snow. I actually had a newspaper photographer stop and take pictures once because it was blowing the snow so far! LOL

David Clark When the drum is rotated into the center position then it blows out the chute.
