About Marvin’s Room:
Years ago, the fiercely independent Lee (Meryl Streep) took off for Ohio, while her older sister, Bessie (Diane Keaton), stayed home to look after their bedridden father, Marvin (Hume Cronyn). Lee has troubles of her own, including her mischievous son, Hank (Leonardo DiCaprio), who has a knack for burning down the neighborhood when she's not looking. Seventeen years since her last visit, and after an unexpected call from Bessie, Lee packs up Hank and his younger brother Charlie (Hal Scardino) for the trip home.

Amazing AcTING. All of them. Streep is simply terrific and Keaton as well is amazing. The scene is totally real...They TRULY seem to be sister. I love this movie. The story is ok, but is a MUST SEE for all wannabe.actors. ( I hope I explained myself right hehe)

Meryl Streep's greatness is unique and the cast is also very good.

I love this scene its my favorite. The way Bessie keeps herself from saying " selfish " and you KNOW what she was going to say as lee eggs her on to say it. Anyone would know that THINGS CROP UP AND PLANS ARE PUT ON HOLD that does not mean you can no longer do them

I agree, but its kind of like me and my family. I hadnt seen some of them in 20 years!! But that doesnt mean that I dont love them..I was going through a lot of stuff, so that was something that was hard for me to talk about. The biggest step is trying to reach out to someone you havent seen or heard from in a long time because its something that some people may not understand why they are reaching out. At least though, you can be thankful that they thought of you, however, some people may not have that same outlook.
