So far I've watched 3 of your videos. They are all fantastic. And every single one you say "Honestly - I just got lucky..." and I totally feel that! haha
I used this concept and cut the squares in half to make triangles (even cheaper!) and then staggered the heights on every other strand (30" and 36" from the floor). Each triangle was a foot up and each string was a foot apart. Turned out amazing for $100! Oh and I used foam board and the squares were 10x10 before cut in half. His tip of the holes not in the center is exactly right! My stage is 28x15. I did not burn my para-cord.... honestly I forgot that tip lol
Ethan Watts Music please I need your help, I want you to mentor me bless my church with this beautiful decoration, it’s my first and I may need you r help, you inspire me a lot, my email account is mahunuvi@gmail.com
hey this is awesome, Im trying to get ideas for my church youth group space, we take over the main sanctuary on a Monday night so I need to be able to break it down and store it. This might not work BUT its great to get some inspiration! thanks for sharing!
hello, it is more than great the scenery they did. I am part of doing the scenography in my church and I was looking for channels like yours to help us improve in the scenarios so that the word is a blessing for everyone and thank you very much for sharing your ideas publicly is a huge blessing for us really want to grow In that area. We want to learn from you, I hope you keep uploading videos: D And please, we need your training. Greetings from Peru, Lima.
Hi, thanks for sharing this idea and also the encouragement on doing this. I was entrusted by our Sr. Pastor to do a research for designing our stage in church. And I'd like to ask for your help on how can I start doing this, can you send some ways on how should I start? Thank you and God bless! :)
It defiantly will not look the same as having a solid black wall behind it. However, I could see it working if you use white cord and being sure you have good lighting placement. I don't believe the white behind the backdrop would totally wash it out seeing how much detail this design creates. It may be worth making a strand or two to test it out first. Thanks for watching.
Wilbert Rodriguez Go smaller with the size of each square and keep them close together. As long as you have something to hang them from, low ceilings shouldn’t be a problem.
hey I wanted to do this for a college event. when the par cans are on it looks fabulous. but I'm a bit skeptical that when the main stage lights shoot up during performances or anchoring ( they will be on for 90% of the time) this shall lose its effect. Tbh I'm bit confused about the look when the stage lights go on.
A decent front wash at a good angle shouldn't hit the backdrop. Although, if your space/lighting can't be adjusted to not hit the backdrop, more powerful lighting or lighting from top and bottom should counter balance the front wash. I'd start by getting some material and just holding it where it would go, just to see what the end result may look like.
Abhishek Banerjee Liam from the reply below said it well. Watch the angle if your wash. We use much less wash during worship as well. But the design was still really well lit even when our wash was at 100% during the message. Great question.
thanks for sharing! my church rents a school auditorium so we have lights that look like stage lights for plays and stuff. very orange and old fashioned. what would you do to change that? please tell me what to buy. thank you! !!
Hi Frincess, The most simple thing you can do is replace your current lighting for almost any LED RGB or RGBW wash fixture. This will allow you to wash your stage and back drop with any color. Depending on your current setup, you may also need to replace the front was as well with a LED equivalent or better. If a venue or church is not using some type of LED fixture for the front wash, its very likely they are using a PAR 64 can or an ellipsoidal like the Source Four Jr. I would start with calling a local stage lighting specialist and have them check out your stage and make suggestions on what they recommend. Thanks for watching.
Worship Leader Hangout thank you for taking the time to respond and also for the advice. I will be sure to mention this to the group! God bless you and your ministry.
Joab Villescas We are using the Martin M2PC board running with the M-PC software. If you like the M-PC software spend a little more and get the M2GO. The software is built in to the board and you just need a touch screen to connect to.
It took 5 days. Sunday to Thursday. We had about 10 helping break down the stage and only two of us building and installing the tiles throughout the week. This also includes installing new fixtures and programming scenes.
@@WorshipLeaderHangout oh ok cool thx. That awl hole may help better keep it snug on the chord, I was thinking of a hole punch but I wasn't finding anything that would go that deep into the center of the coroplast.thanks for that answer. Another question would be have u ever used aluminum mesh it looks very cool when colored stage lights hit it also if u wrinkle it up it gives it a rocky look too, let me know if u come across any good uses for it. Thx. Keep up the Good work.
I'm not sure. The church had already purchased this platform before I came on staff. However, you can price them online at stores like thestagedepot.com.
Unique Israel Try painting your back and side walls dark grey or black and use little to no house lighting near the stage. I hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching.
I'm watching from Zanzibar- Tanzania God bless you !
Shouting thank you all the way from Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹
Loved EACH Video you have made on church stage parents… I look forward to looking at other videos as well
So far I've watched 3 of your videos. They are all fantastic. And every single one you say "Honestly - I just got lucky..." and I totally feel that! haha
looks great. fishing line and foam board (from dollar tree) would make the cost significantly lower.
I've made this same thing. Shall be uploading shortly. It came out to be really beautiful. Specially when the main focus lights go dark
I used this set up at my traditional church and it came out awesome

Incredible. Love it. I think that might be my next design.
Good job…very impressive
Can you make a video showing your lighting system? Thanks!
Ethan Watts I'll get on that.

Thank you so much.
I made this but attached it to an adjustable frame set at 10 X 16. We were able to move it whever and stored it behind a curtain on stage.
Great job mate

Chrizzia Joce Veluz Yes, please send me an email at worshipleaderhangout@gmail and I'll help you as best as I can.
Question. How did you get it to hang from the stage? Did you tie it on something ?
Yes. We have a bar extended past the width of the stage about 16ft above the back edge
Will this still look good against a white wall?
How did you suspend the parachord strings from the ceiling?
Debo Ijiwola we have a bar(truss) suspended from the ceiling that spans the width of the stage. I just hung them from that.
Fire norma?
Very cool. But our backdrop is white. I don't think that would work too good with that? Do you?
It defiantly will not look the same as having a solid black wall behind it. However, I could see it working if you use white cord and being sure you have good lighting placement. What is it that you guys used for the white floors ??
Its like snow
What about with low ceiling churches
Wilbert Rodriguez Go smaller with the size of each square and keep them close together. As long as you have something to hang them from, low ceilings shouldn’t be a problem.
What lights are you using for your back lighting? Also, could you share what type of haze machine (or fog) you are using?
Thanks for the questions. We are using RGB LED par cans to light this design. They are unbranded. The haze/fog machine is the Martin Magnum 2500 Hz.

On the thumbnail for this video how did you get those white lights to have a “ray” effect? What kind of lights are they?
Clyons045 they are moving heads by American DJ called the Focus Spot 3z. For the price they are great especially for a room our size.

Frincess Julyette Thank you so much!
Nice, but is it fireproof?...
what lighting software do you use or mixer???

What cord did you use?
jeelene asiong we used 550 paracord Black. Thanks for the question.
How long did this transformation take, and how many people were working on it?
It took 5 days. Sunday to Thursday. We had about 10 helping break down the stage and only two of us building and installing the tiles throughout the week. This also includes installing new fixtures and programming scenes.
What are you using for the stage?
Its a popup temporary (movable) stage. 16 8'x4' sections.
Can u tell me what u used to punch holes with out bending coroplast. All the hole punchers I got cant do it
Jessica Banks lol I seriously just used a tire awl. Regular awl will work too.
@@WorshipLeaderHangout oh ok cool thx. There is a COMPANY called make do that sells cardboard making supplies...they have some tools that might work on this stuff
How expensive was it to build your platform
I'm not sure. The church had already purchased this platform before I came on staff. However, you can price them online at stores like thestagedepot.com.
how did you attach the to the ceiling
We have a bar mounted to the ceiling that is a little longer than the width of the stage. It is mounted about the same height as the screen.
If you don't use yours anymore can i have it?
We already donated this design to another church. Thanks for watching!
Whàt kind of material did you use?
jeelene asiong, Corrugated plastic sheets. Coroplast is one of the leading manufacturers of the stuff.
What other material can i use?
The only other materials I would use are wood and some other type of hard plastic.
How do I achieve this dark look
Unique Israel Try painting your back and side walls dark grey or black and use little to no house lighting near the stage. I hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching.
How big was your stage?
Jill Selfe Thanks for the question. 16' x 32' with an extra 4x8 section on the front center.
