Yours is a gem of a CZcams channel. Thanks for a video with no nerve-rattling music or other distractions, just a calm, soothing voice-over and a really beautiful box build. Keep up the good work, sir.
Great video! Not a lot of people have the guts to show a project online from start to finish like you have. The box is beautiful. You edited the video well, so it goes at a nice pace. Happy to see somebody else who is relentless about masking the wood and and wiping the glue to avoid having to scrape it off later. Bravo!
Like it a lot. Good presentation so many people add some hideous music. Idk if it’s instructions video or crappy music video. Please do more. I’m really new to cnc and trying to learn. This helps. Thank you
Thanks for posting. Very attractive box. You may not know that the indigenous people of the north west coasts of Canada and Alaska were making ‘bent boxes’ with this method from cedar for hundreds if not thousands of years. They were also clever enough to retain a thin outside layer of wood at the corners so that three of the 4 corners were seamless on the outside. Modern woodworkers don’t seem to do this.
My wife hadn’t felt good, at all, about my CNC purchase about a month ago. Then I purchased Aspire, which made it worse. I am huge into graphic arts and woodworking. Then, I came across this video. I showed it to her. She is finally warming up to the idea. Thanks. Be blessed.
Nelson Lackings, I’m happy that I was able to assist you. We have a few things in common, outside of your wife having some concerns, i could have written your comment word for word.
WoodDoormann we actually have even more in common than you may imagine, considering the makeup of those who more commonly populate this field sir. Thanks for responding.
Just finished building my CNC machine and found this gem. Very well done video with great explanation with what you are doing. Great video and thanks for taking the time to share your technique.
I did something similar a couple years ago, except more sides. I tried 6, and 12 sided boxes. I tried to leave a thin skin on the outside of the miter cuts so it could be wrapped up with no visible seams. But to get that to work I should have taken the time to set up a steam chamber or something else to get the wood fibers soft enough to attempt to bend so sharply. I tired hot water that wasn't hot enough and it tore. I believe it can be done with proper setup.
Elegant design, great hold-down technique and ingenious miter cut method. I appreciate the voice-over method you use for your presentation. Nice job on everything, looking forward to learning more.
I have to say your video showing the construction process is great, The box looks terrific. I just found your site and I joined and will be watching more. Thanks
Very nice box and great tips on how to hold a piece under the CNC. I just started with a CNC, actually two of them and things like this video actual TEACH, not brag. I think there was about 4 things that I will try tomorrow when I'm back in my workshop to fix an issue I was having in my learning process. I look forward to see other videos by you. Also you are the first person I subscribed to for CNC videos.
I sure would like to know how you created your continuous lines. This is probably the best designed and creative boxes I have seen yet. The lines, the use of aluminum dowels and VCarved miter joints are genius. Please post more videos, we can learn alot with your innovative techniques.
This is a beautifully designed box. Your careful attention to detail during the building process and finish makes this piece stand out above the rest. Thank you for sharing your work and processes brother.
This is similar to a project I have done with my high school students without the CNC. This video was great in seeing how I can adapt this project for the CNC.
Really liked the line cuts across the surface. Using the 90 degree v-bit to cut the ends is genius! I've been using my chop saw. Your method is much more accurate. Thanks.
Very nice mix of technology and hand work. I like how you have developed processes to let you focus on the aesthetic results rather than wallowing in the routine aspects of making wooden objects. So many spend huge amounts of time on sanding away half of the last steps damage or cobbling up fixtures and work-arounds for things like the splines. Your use of masking to protect the surface while flush cutting is great. As others have said, it's also really nice to just hear you describing what and why, rather than the youtube copyright safe trite "music".
This is a great build! The finished box turned out beautiful. Some great tips with the indexing pin, or the one about sanding the pins with the grain. I’ve noticed that metal keeps the random pattern more than I’d prefer. Glad my friend pointed me to your video! Subscribed!
Very nice! Inspiring me to make small boxes on my CNC. Have not done that yet. The largest box I made was for Bee Hives! Your voice over was very well done as well. Subscribed and liked!
Cool box Mann, I like it. Small critique, maybe engrave your name on the bottom or side instead of the top. It takes away from the ascetics of the box. Great video.
I really like how you use cnc as much as you can. Also like your hold down system. I would apply masking tape before cutting slots for splines, just to cut some time.
My honest opinion is that this is a gorgeous box! I love the process
@@davidhamrich thank you very much
I really like that you showed everything clearly and didn't waste a lot of time showing details that weren't important. I like the box design too!
One of the best instructional video's. There is not one aspect of this video that doesn't pass on knowledge and skills!!! Thanks
You are blessed with not only design and woodworking skills but a very refreshing manner of explaining your work. I have a sense I know the source.
Very nice CNC project!
Excellent tutorial. No distracting music, just straight forward instruction! Great box.
Mandell, I am very late to the party but just wanted to say thanks for sharing and excellent job. Very well done sir...
Thank you very much!

I agree fully.
Subscribed! Very nice work. Well described. Beautiful project. Inspiring.
I also like you didn't have annoying and distracting music.
Great video! Beautiful box. I hope you make more videos.
Keith Pruitt thank you very much
What is the cutting depth of the 90 degree V-bit you used?
Very nice work. Like the fact you included Aluminum in the project.

Love your video and your gentle spirit. Subscribed
Nice work both CNC and finished product. Agree about the music. I've bailed on videos because of the music. You just gained another subscriber.
Really slick idea for making a box with the v bit. A single piece of wood guaranteed to have grain flow.
You inspire Me. I've been wanting to get into box making and You just push started Me . THANK YOU
Wonderful box, thank you for sharing your awesome project with us, stay safe happy, warm and healthy, from Henrico County Virginia

Thank you
Great Project Mandell, love the design.
Mandell... Very nice work. Thank you for sharing.
Love the work on the CNC. Way cool method of making 45 deg joints on CNC. This saves hours cutting and fitting joints. Great job.
thanks
Beautiful piece.
Nice box with unique details. You gave me a lot of different techniques for things I'm doing differently. Thanks!
All I can saw is "WOW", you made it look so easy. New to this, so this was well worth it and very much appreciated.
You Sir are a true wood worker that box is absolutely beautiful!!!!!
Hanging with Tony Thank you very much.

MrBobbin01 Thank you! I hope it helped you on some capacity.
Very nice. Great video.
Love it. I just learned so much just from this video in itself TY!
I've only made a big top for a blanket/toy chest on my cnc, you've inspired me to try and make a box like this also
Such a concise video, with a lot of techniques used for various points in the project. Will definitely give this a try.
