I remember buying this record when I was 16, I played it over and over. I wish I could go back and enjoy it for the first time all over again. The music and my youth. Those were the days!

Man oh man. Club life in 1977 played this record so much! Just listening to this song brings back my very young adult life watching the dance floor fill with dancers. Life was so, so much fun then. Donna Summer was the queen of disco. Got me wanting to get up and dance 🕺. A true disco MASTERPIECE!
I was 14 years old when I heard this song for the first time in a club in Caracas called El Bosque. hahaha 14? Yes, minors were allowed in until 7:00 pm and they gave us a non-alcoholic fruit punch, but we listened and danced the latest and greatest disco music. Now I am 62 years old.🕺

Fabulous song and memories. And the tangible artifacts of that year: a Datsun B-210 hatchback ($3700) - those transparent ribbed plastic belts that came in various colors or clear (men’s “dress pants” came with them) - plaid gauze cotton shirts you didn’t dare put in the dryer - Frye boots instead of platform shoes - digital watches - the new Betamax (that hardly anyone bought) - answering machines for phones (I think) - woman’s wedge haircuts and cowl neck sweaters - ok enough (!!!).
By the way the orchestration in this song is beyond excellent.

Pattie Brooks was a backup singer for Donna Summer back in 1976. Before she did a single “After Dark” from “Thank God It’s Friday” 2 years later back in 1978.
