My only problem with Nightwish is that I start out listening to 1 song, and all of a sudden its 3 hours later. Once you start listening, you don't know when to stop. Amazing band.
After 61 years I'm taking everything I thought I loved about music and throwing it in the trash because this is the most amazing thing I have ever experienced.

If you like her growl in this song, wait till you hear her in Yours is an Empty hope, there she growls the whole chorus while Marko is doing the clean singing :) live from Wembley or The Nightwish cruise, and yes not one song is the same with Nightwish, they are really like a box of chocolates, you'll never know what ya gonna get

I love this song specially because it shows Floor's rough (growls) and gentle (angelic) aspects of her voice plus the power she has belting those darn high notes! Marko is a beast too, in the best way possible
The "same direction" like this one: "The Devil and The Deep Dark Ocean" from Buenos Aires. And of course "Yours an Empty Hope" from Wembley. The latter one will give you growling Floorgasms ;-)

Yeah, that riff is a clear nod to van Halen. They do a similar homage to Metallica on The Greatest Show On Earth (Tampere Live)
Yeeeeees! Ghost River is one of my all time favs, such gutteral dynamic song.
A lot of people find Marco's vocals weird or don't like the sound, but I think he fits with Floor and the overall feel of the band perfectly. A little more gravel and still a very talented singer with great range.

On many songs, Marco plays the masculine demon or evil entity part to Floor's beautiful voice. Marco was the lead singer of one of his former bands "Tarot".
Great reaction again. I love voice harmony when Marco and Floor sing together. If You want to listen to more groul from Floor try Your is empty hope from Nightwish Cruise. Tuomas is a great composer. Devil and the deep dark ocean (live from Buenos Aires) or Siren (End of the Era show) is very good example of his genius.
Additional comment - the 'End of an Era' performance of Pink Floyd's High Hopes is quite a nice showcase of Emppu Vuorinen's playing.
Everytime they go back and forth with vocals I get chills 😍

Powerful Reactions PLEASE check out Floor’s old band ReVamp! She growled a lot with them. Look up Wild Card live at Bloodstock, the sound quality isn’t quite as good as a Nightwish live video but it’s DEFINITELY worth a listen. Floor goes from rock to opera to growling in a second

My recommendation is that if you continue your Nightwish journey, why not doing two songs at a time? (except of course The Poet and The Pendulum and The greatest show on Earth which are long enough by themselves)...
It's funny to see that many Nightwish fans say they don't like Epica because of the growls (it's the only reason to don't like Epica if you like Nightwish), but when Floor starts growling, growls are not only ok, but awesome... Be consistent people... It's like back in the early 2000's, when I always said Floor (she was in After Forever at the time) was better than Tarja and all the rest of Nightwish fans wanted to crucify me... (by the way, when Tarja left the band, my first comment to all my friends was: Floor Jansen would be the perfect replacement, since After Forever has splitted some months before, but Tuomas chose Annete).I'm so happy that all this people now recognize that I was right from the beginning...

Its dangerous to nightwish without a seatbelt 😂 I only gotten into nightwish within the last 8 months or so and I agree by far they are my favorite just on pure talent and story telling ability and floor... she never disappoints! I love "elan (official music video)" too it has a Celtic kinda vibe (atleast I think Celtic) lol
