- I've kept losing to Orc recently in my Night Elf rank 1 quest, so let's shake things up and go for an old school build! No Ancient of War, Keeper first, and straight Peon harass! Let's go!

What I have realized from watching you play the past few years is that the factor that separates top players from the rest is the ability to compose themselves and stay calm. It applies in every sport and competitive game.
Applies all across life. If you're panicking you're less able to make truly decisive, effective choices. It's why training and practice, and mindfulness and meditation in general, is so important. If you're going to be in positions where instinct and snap decisions are important (like, say, playing wc3 on wc3champions :D), then preparing the mind and body to navigate those moments gracefully is one of the best things we can do for ourselves.
It's like a muscle. It takes years of getting rekt to eventually realize that it's just a game. His composure has had a couple decades and a bit to become what it is.

@Grubby I remember you reviewing orc vs nelf games and playing them yourselves where you were analyzing how blademaster struggles into demonhunter due to manaburn and the outpace of immolation creeping. Maybe that could end your feud vs orcs?
As for Keeper + Alchemist, i recall the replay of Moon vs Lyn where he was utilizing way more Ancient Defenders - maybe revisiting those vods could help?

BM orc still very tricky matchup , good bm can windwalk away when sees dm if the fight isn't good, and bm really good for picking off weak elf units

Wow. What an instant concede in the first match
Makes sense to me. He barely got anything done during his harass because of wisp micro (I think he cancelled a moonwell and disrupted some harvesting), while he lost something like 4 peons and counting (because 1 burrow, he had limited base defense). Hunts started coming out, which meant his attack was petering out and he was set up to lose the long game with eco disadvantage.
This NE vs NE was such a clutch I loved it.
Being open to learning and listening (humble) is how you improve as a person.

You also clarified the role of huntress, and i definitely wasnt using them correctly.

I told Grubby i got rekt by a blood mage flamestrike harass on my first ever Pvp game. I had played keeper/huntress, and he showed us the propoer keeper harass and keeper/huntress gameplay :)

Grubby, why at 9:35 you clicked on the replenishment potion but it didn't work? Can explain?
It did work, but the item works over time, not instantly
Edit: Oh, I see what you mean. He had to click it twice before it worked
Great question. I looked at it a few times and I think what happened is that I clicked on the tome, then shift-clicked on the replenishment (queueing it as an action AFTER picking up the tome), but then issued a new (non-shifted) cmd that overwrote the queue. Then, as I realized it hadn't been used yet, I did a free click on it some seconds later, which ended up starting the item's over-time use
@@FollowGrubby By "tome" I think you meant the ring of superiority (ROS) but after inspecting it on the slowest speed I think you're right. You made a shift queue right click ROS ➜ right click ground ➜ then left click the replenishment. But before KOTL had a chance to walk there, you issued a new right click command. If you had swapped around the second and third command then the potion would've been activated for sure. I do shift queue items in Dota 2, but never realized you could do it in WC3 as well! The zooming animation on the replenishment really fooled me into thinking it worked!
I think the key is to not use kotg, that's always what you go against orc. Try solo DH and a few archers to power creep, then go straight bears & a couple dryads for slow & abolish. Keep all orc heros mana burned. ez win.

i think grubby is secretly bronze or bronze league just improve grubby's skill but he picked up all the books in this video
Why does Grubby always diagonal scout first, is there some strategy behind it?
there is some game theory behind diagonal scouting, and I can't speak to why or how he chooses to do it because I'm sure there's race/map niches, but common reasons include:
you only care if they're diagonal or adjacent and don't care where they actually are (applicable to almost every build order except pure rushes)
faking a scout timing if the meta is to scout adjacent first
scouting rushes through the middle of the map
In this case, it's because the map has forced cross-spawn

why entangle to kill peons instead of trees?
Peons go burrow. Entangle no escape.
Treants are too unreliable at harassing workers. Peons go burrow, Acolytes really just don't care, or enemy could get Wand of Negation(it's a summon, right?), Wisps detonate and kill, Peasants go toe to toe in Militia mode.
Grubby, I know you don't like responding to political questions, but I have one that I really need an answer from you for. Yeah, yeah, politics, but it's important.
Was Gandalf acting as a dignitary from Valinor in his actions with the nations of Middle-Earth, and if so were his actions (which upset the political states of multiple nations) technically illegal even though they were justified?
Gandalf's action were in accordance to the laws of proportionate meddling, a level of meddling which was matched to Sauron and Melkor's meddling. A classic case of self-defence through proxy of Middle Earth's mortals

Can’t help but find the irony in you having all your losts againsr orc. While my opinion is somewhat questionable, I believe you struggle more against very aggressive DH openers than against keeper. Especially the NE players who loses their hero 3 times and rebuy from tavern while expanding is the style that had success against you. Perhaps embrace the madness and be over aggressive against orc? Food for thoughts.

I know most of grubby’s fan base doesn’t know this but he was INSUFFERABLE for the vast majority of his career. Exceptionally whiny and rude. It wasn’t until his CZcams channel blew up did he change which was years after competitive wc3.
That's not really true, even the least charitable interpretation. Though I did do some maturing, which is good. I counsel likewise moderation to yourself, got some work to do there
