Also a lot of people don't watch college ball and have no idea who any of these players are (myself inclueded), so they base who they want to draft on things like mock drafts and see a guy like Whitmore, who some people think could've gone in the top 10, fall to us. Can't wait to see how he turns out. I got a good feeling about him.

Heat culture is nothing but front office promoting a team than many stars to want avoid playing for. We were told years ago that all the major talent would love to come to Miami and play for Pat. The few that came left Dodge within a couple of years .
@wjm9054 the front office needs to change. Micky Arison is a cheap owner who does not want to pay luxury taxes. Damian Lillard talks about it, Mitchell, Kyrie, KD, and it goes on. We just did not show the aggression to go after those guys. I do wish the culture changed so we can be able to take risks.

Miami needs a 7 footer or a 6'11 to play center and move Bam to the 4 . taller centers gave Bam problems.
6"9 or 6"11 or positioning is no difference. The question is the mobility of the player. He must be quick to play along with bam. I think another big black is good.
Honestly, energy alone isn't gonna make a difference in the paint vs Guys like Jokic and Embiid. WE ARE TOO SMALL in the paint, ever since we traded Whiteside. I'm not angry at this pick, but if Bam couldn't affect Jokic shot, literally everytime Joker caught the ball in the paint you knew it was going in. No challengers down low. This guy is listed at 6'7 I'm not sure he's what we're looking for. Once AGAIN, Bam needs help and Jovic ain't ready!!
Miami needs to bring in either a Brook Lopez or a Thomas Bryant in their front court to compliment Bam

One if the best athletes at the draft combine. He's already played against several NBA players in the L.A. area the last couple if summers and held his own. I saw him play many times down in So Cal and he's a stud!

Not after that Pat Riley intro with his entire family at the press conference. Also it's someone Portland doesn't need and his salary is too low to send out. It will probably be Herro and Lowry plus 2-3 1st round picks to make the numbers work.
Also don't forget that Portland has made all the right comments that they want Dame to only play for Portland and they kept him and his entourage in the loop during the entire draft process and he gave his approval on the #3 pick.
The new CBA is downright brutal on the punitive luxury tax in 2024-25. Don't be surprised if this is the Miami Heat team you'll see in 2023-24 and not resigning Vincent and Strus.

Lol a guy who’s been injured for 90% of the season and barely played in the reg season being thrusted into the finals sounds absolutely idiotic. You don’t know more than spo. Yurt wasn’t and isn’t ready for big minutes. He’s a role player at best but when he came back the heat were trying to make the playoffs and so trying to to fit him into the rotation that late in the szn was counter productive.
