- Before watching 'Bob Marley: One Love' I did not know Marley's backstory and director Reinaldo Marcus Green does a great job balancing his journey through the music industry while navigating the political landscape in Jamaica.

I loved “The Doors.” And who can forget “Ray.”
Walk the line
With Hollywood you know it's going to be just from the surface, not too deep
I did like the way she looked at the movie
Marley will always be remembered through his Music probably not with this movie.
Yes he will. This movie can only give a brief snippet of his beautiful life. I been a fan of his since I was 16 years old, I'm 44. His music has touched my life in ways many can't imagine. Bob was a very blessed soul, and was truly anointed by God. So yes, he will always be remembered by his music. Bob said people will be hearing his music 500 years from now. God's singing Prophet.
There was purposely no backstory, Ziggy only wanted to focus on the events of his fathers attempted assassination and recording of the album Exodus.
It was the Marleys wishes that the movie focused on his already established status as a popular musician. This story is told from the Marley families point of view and NOT Hollywood's.
Glad to see they did justice to Bob Marley
I know! I’m happy I learned more about him
Just came home from watching this film tonight & I must say that I loved it, but the storytelling structure was a missed opportunity. If this film had a linear storyline, this would have rival Bohemian Rhapsody as one of the best biography films of all time. The flashbacks that we got during the film (without warning) massively hurt the film for sure but if the production have had the story structure that carried the film telling this rich story from beginning to middle to end, a rag to riches tale if you will, the ending would have landed its finale without pain. We didn't get that. All in all, I loved the film, I totally loved the soundtrack (duh) & I will still buy this on 4k when it comes out, but I wish this was perfected a bit more before release.
I’m happy you enjoyed it!!
