Catherine, although you deliver expert photography and cinematography, there is NOTHING like seeing Redwoods in person. If you follow Cat, do yourself a lifetime favor and visit these majestic trees. No film can convey the size and majesty of these trees! I was blessed to visit a dear friend in Sacramento in 2006 and she brought me to South Lake Tahoe and I'll never forget it! Just epic! Ugh! I should have waited to comment, Cat said exactly what I just said. Great minds think a like!
Touching one of those centuries old trees is just a nano-moment in that tree's life, but to us it is an enriching experience of something greater than ourselves.
What happened that y'all got such a late start? That's tuff setting up camp in the dark. The wise o'l 🦉 says Hoo....Hoo's tripping in here after dark?🤣😁
❤❤❤❤yay Joey, Catherine & Tony! Three peas in a pod !!! ❤😊😊😊😊PS I was born in Redwood City California… There is something very spiritual about the coastal Redwoods! The history is phenomenal! Check out a few years back when California fires were out of control and the fireman had to choose saving life and a lot of the Coastal Redwoods burned, interestingly enough the roots were connected to an incredible water source and the re-growth and healing came to the trees. ❤❤❤❤
I love it when you hang out with Joey and the guys. It just feels less lonesome to me. ❤️
Really happy that you have partnered up with Joey...hiking and filming. Love both of your works. Thanks!
Sunday is now Monday! lol great to see ya !
I have seen the redwoods and the sequoias three times in my lifetime and I feel so blessed to be able to see them and they just take my breath away it’s hard to describe how you feel when you see God’s creation. Thank you for sharing, love it.❤

Hiking among those majestic beauties must have been phenomenal! Great video.
Cool! Anyone else see that 4-leaf clover at 9:42?
On my bucket list. 👍🇨🇦😎🌲🙏
Kathryn Beautiful video 📸. Gorgeous. Scenery!!!! Safe travels!!!!
Thank You for taking me along with you and your buddies to yet another gorgeous place. It's nice to take these hiking breaks without getting my feet wet. Another Beautifully done video 👍 Stay Safe!! You keep posting and I'll keep watching 🙏😎 🐕🦺
Very nice hike. Joey has a sense of humor saying your crossing of the river was treacherous and you could be swept away if you fell, when in reality, it was only ankle deep. Made me chuckle. The redwoods were amazing.
Yes…I laughed when I heard that editing. I didn’t know what he was saying at the time. 😂😂
...Beautiful jungle forest ...."But Honey ,, Who Shrunk the Hikers ??" ..... Would sure hate to be bushwackin' thru that and come up on a Bear or Mountain Lion ..... good call to stay on the visible trail .... Some sights don't have to be multi days to get the energies of their existence ....... Thank You SO much for sharing this hike ....
Trees were magnificent and their size was humbling! Thanks for sharing Cat.
My bucket must!!
That is more vegetation than this western Texan has never seen. 😁
Amazing trees, thank you for sharing. Stay well and be safe.
We have walked among some of the majestic trees and you are correct when you say you have to actually see them in person. Love them❤
Camped and explored the Redwoods from Los Gatos Canyon to Southern Oregon. Enchanted wilderness inland, jaw dropping coastal overlooks, spectacular fern covered canyons and waterfalls. I don't think I'll ever get enough of that part of the world.
Great video, Catherine.
I took my wife on our trip 2 yrs ago through there!!!We drove the 101 from Crescent City through the Newton b Drury scenic parkway and the Avenue of Giants!!its Incredible!!Going back this June!! The giant Sequoias are Next!! Great Video!!!
Instant like. Beautiful country!
Cat Wow that was very nice thanks for taking us along .
I visited the Redwoods back in late September and it was truly an experience. Its hard to appreciate how tall they are until you stand next to one and look up. Glad you had a great trip.
Amaizing redwoods! Love the reminder about this park.
Great shot of the trees, love the elk, you all got lucky with that traffic jam, thanks for taking me along, I would love to see them for myself. 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👍🏻
Beautiful beautiful place! I have been in those Redwoods and they are very tall and majestic! I loved being there too! Great to see you and your hiking friends! Thank you Cat for your awesome videos! Love you too! ❤😊 Take care!
Redwoods must be seen as you describe. Thanks for sharing.
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!! Thank you for taking us in to the most amazing natural spaces in America
It's like a scene from, "Return of the Jedi". I think Lucas filmed in that area...also prime Squatch area..lucky you. Travel safe.
The redwoods are amazing! Over the years my family and I have enjoyed visiting the big trees of Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. I agree with Cat and that you must get up close and in person with these majestic giants to truly appreciate their magnificence!🌲
Bucket list. Stay safe out there Cat. 🕊
This reminds me so much of the Hoh Rainforest. Good to see Joey again too
So beautiful to see. I grew up in the coastal redwoods. Miss them. Favorite spot
I agree. I've been to the Muir Woods and you just can't describe how massive those trees are.
Thank you for the video! It is the atmosphere of a redwood grove one cant describe or take photos you have to feel it yourself. These banana snails are part of it. Again, thanks Cat it brought back a lot of memories.
Wow what amazing so peaceful those trees just aww... very nice 😺 an your hiking buddies just love it thanks
I remember the movement to save the trees by establishing the park. Been there only once, thanks for reminding us all what a beautiful place it is.
I am thankful for the good sense few people had to stand up and say NO. Their work to save was our blessing.
I loved hiking through the Redwoods years ago, and hope to again someday relatively soon. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for noting the distinction between redwoods and sequoia trees. I often wondered about that. The trees are magnificent; the trail seemed to be a lovely walk through a shady glen! Stay safe Catherine! 🎈🙋🏻♀️
Re So glad you have two hikers with you. Didn’t know you to have a permit to camp there in redwoods. I love the Redwoods. When I think of redwoods I think of the song by Woodie Guthrie This Land is Your Land. Those trees are so tall and gorgeous.
Regards for my Cat :-) Ralf
Looks like an awesome trip to see those beautiful trees. I agree photos just can’t do them justice. Thank you for taking us along.
Viewing this on iPhone because it keeps stopping on smart tv. Sound doesn’t stop though. Go figure! Be safe❤️
Thank you for coming along Todd! I wish I knew why you were having trouble with playback. I'm so sorry about that. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Pat!
Nice hike except for wet feet, lol. I have visited the Red Woods and they are majestic. Stay safe.
Catherine, This video was sure worth the wait, Everyone needs to see the Redwoods and the Sequoias, They're a sight for sore eyes, Thank you for this great video.
Glad you had good light too se where you needed to camp when it got dark out. Those redwoods are beautiful.
It's such an amazing place! When we were there, I imagined what it would of been like there when prehistoric dinosaurs roamed the earth! Wow! Thanks for sharing!
Spectacular!
Waaaaw these trees are massive - this place is on my list for sure ❤😊
I had gone to Redwoods National and State Parks and also I saw the Lady Bird Johnson Grove. I visited Sequoia National Park also and both the Redwoods and the Sequoias are just amazing! You have to see them in person to really experience them!
You should go visit Big trees national Park it's an Arnold, calaveras county
Thanks!
The one place I haven’t been to. My Aunt and Uncle told me decades ago, go see it ❤️ I’m planing to make my next trip to include the redwoods. Thank you for sharing!!
What another great video! Sorry you didn’t get to stay another night but I don’t blame you. Glad you ended up being ok from crossing the river. Wow! There was a lot of elk when you left that were in the road. Great video. Hope you have a great day and week and see you soon!
Epic, beautiful and intense! 🌲❤ Catherine, it is so awesome to see footage of you carrying your camera and tripod! You work so hard and the beauty you capture and share is a gift to all who watch! Thank you Cat! I appreciate you! The boys too! Have a safe and beautiful week! 🦅
I have visited there and standing next to the trees really makes you feel small and humble. Truely beautiful giants!!
I agree! Walking beneath the giant redwoods in awestruck silence, I felt its holiness; Nature's Cathedral.
i just went to sequoia and was amazed!! The colors and massive trucks seem unreal. I have a picture where I look like a spec next to the massiveness of the tree. They almost look like cartoon trees. I can imagine they are so tall. i cannot wait to go.
Good morning Catherine. What can I say? These videos just keep getting better and better - superlative content absolute perfection. But of course that's to be expected from a talented self sufficient woman such as yourself. TYFS and have a wonderful Tuesday.
Redwood trees so majestic & beautiful!! Loved the overnight trip and look forward to more of the journey. Thanks, Cat. 😊👍🏻🙋🏼♀️
One of the few California parks I haven't been to, but I'm planning to visit next year with my daughters, so, I'll be definitely re-viewing this from time to time! Thank you!!!
I went there around 15 years ago ,, it is truely majestic ,, Thanks for taking us along :)
Beautiful place! Tom and I have been through Richardson Grove and that whole area on the Harley. Great opportunity to get super pictures from the back of the bike. Glad you had fun! Another great video. I always look forward to seeing the next one! Take care, Cat! Hugs, Donna
Great Job Cat!!
I lived in that area when I was a kid........long before they created that Park. It's nice to know they have preserved these magnificent trees for all to see. My Dad worked in a lumber mill at the mouth of Redwood Creek for as short period.
Great to see you back with “MyOwnFrontier” 🙌
Aww animals are so awesome 👌beautiful 😍, enjoy the beautiful colors falls cat/friends
The herd of elk at the end sure was an unexpected wow. I love seeing wildlife. I so love both redwood and sequoia. Used to live in a small redwood grove.
You might want to attempt the Lost Coast since you are just north of there. There is a really cool place just east of Redwood National Park but it is snowed in by now. The Devil's Punchbowl in the Siskiyou Wilderness is one of my favorite hidden gems.
Thanks for sharing..... what an amazing area to explore....
Cat, the shots of the sunlight coming through the tree tops was totally breathtaking! Thank you.. ❤! Cannot not wait for your next journey.
This is north of my area. Wave when you go by Willits, CA. Thanks for the beautiful video.
I once volunteered with CDF in exchange for winter housing accommodations just south of Orick. There's a great wild game restaurant worth noting if you've ever back in that area along the service road off of hwy 101.
Thanks, Cat. I was glad to see that shot,of you in front of the trees to give us a perspective.
Loved this as always.❤
Great video! We will have to make it out there some day, love seeing those big trees! It must feel like being in another world.
Nice video, I have seen both the Coastal and Sierra redwoods. I didn't have enough vacation time to enjoy the Redwoods where you hiked and it was decades ago. These trees have to be a top 10 sight to see in person. No mention of the ferns ? LoL they are a wonder as well. I even tried to grow one in a large container years ago when I lived in Northern Cal. They are an ancient plant.
Great video! These trees are amazing. If you get back East consider Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest and the Slickrock Wilderness. A stand of old growth trees that leads to a wilderness with a great lookout trail to the Hangover.
I’ve been to most of the sprawling redwood national and state park. This is one section I have yet to visit. Thanks for sharing it with us. Redwoods does not disappoint. It’s breath taking snd breath making. I never breathe easier as an asthmatic as when I’m in a redwood forest.
My goodness Catherine your videos we love, and enjoy so much. So grateful we are, to have found you on You Tube. We’ve been following along for so time now, and every video we enjoy. Thanks for all you do, and share, we hope to see the 🌲 someday. Love seeing you hike with Joey again, sending a 👋 to Joey ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ you Catherine
Aww such beautiful places, thanks for taking us along 😀be safe out there Cat/friends, enjoy
Amazing!
Travel the Hwy 101 route from Crescent City back home to the bay area quite often as we have relatives in Crescent city so it makes for great RV trips...We go through Orick every time and every so often get to meet the herd of Elk your seeing in the road here....Am a big fan of that part of the state ...We add Oregon to the mix when traveling to and from also...Travel safe, be well...
Oh my. Cats and water; always an event of survival skills. 😉 Thanks for sharing the majestic giants with us. 🌲
NICE AND STOUT GROVE EAST OF CRESCENT CITY REAL EASY TO ACCESS AND BIG TREES FYI.
I agree with you Cat, no amount of capturing on camera can give one the perspective of these majestic trees! I visited Muir Woods in February 2020 and just was in awe of that grove of redwoods. It was a humbling experience. Your adventure brought back those wonderful memories and I thank you for that. Peace and Love to you Cat.
Beautiful video!
thanks for the videos. i am only just beginning to realise how many wonderful places there are in north america to explore ! :)
So awesome there are no words. All your vids are breathtaking, but this one hits home as it takes your "buds" with you in a day & night adventure,to a remote once in a lifetime deep woods find ! A you returned to find deer doing sentry duty over your camp. What a great blessing ! What memories this piece invokes !
Oh my, you guys looked like little ants as you hiked among those majestic redwoods! Thank you for sharing your trip!
Stunning, Cat. That's on my bucket list. Hope to do it soon. As always, thanks for sharing your adventures. Cheers.
Your night-time video shots are Awesome!! Love the tall trees. Thanks for sharing 👍 FYI - We like watching your videos on our big screen TV, so cool. Take Care. Cheers
❤️❤️❤️❤️
What a beautiful hike. The ferns! They're huge too! Yes, the redwoods and sequoias are impressive. Beautiful photography.
These ancient trees have a Living Presence , an ageless wisdom that is worth the time.
