    A few amendments and a note from Machi directly (this will be updated as needed)
    36:38 - "overcharge charge time is almost double the charge time", this is incorrect and should be " overcharge charge time is more then double the base pa's charge time but you only need to commit to casting 1 pa instead of 2 back to back, frame perfect"
    Also a note from Machi - "A little late but I want to thank Krono and everyone again for this huge opportunity to talk about and showcase hunter before the upcoming renewal, without everyone that recognizes me as a good enough hunter, I wouldn't have gotten this opportunity. I hope I didn't come off as being too negative, I love playing hunter a lot so when I criticize the negatives of the class that makes me demotivated from pushing the class, I can become unnecessarily negative. Some of the stuff I said also might have lost their meaning so if anything isn't clear, please make sure to ask. I didn't have any socials linked besides my channel since I don't have a lot of NGS related social but if anyone wants to me reach me directly, they can reach me machikadomado on discord, I lurk a lot of Phantasy Star Fleet, PSO2 Central, and sometimes the official PSO2NGS server. Make sure to also checkout all the community resources I briefly mentioned like the NGS verification data storage spreadsheet for global translated and worked on by TheUberClips , a newly created NGS Wiki by MilleMarteaux and Joof. I also made some extra gameplay public on my channel that didn't make the cut for the interview so check it out if you are interested in more gameplay"

    Madomach hits the nail on the head when pointing problems revolving around sword's heavy dependency on Overcharge as well as it outperforming the other Hunter's weapons with so little effort.
    Although now a Fighter Main, I still could not see myself no longer being married to my Hunter Secondary Class. Hunter's Physique; due to it allowing player to reckless without worries of losing immense damages from unnecessary knockbacks, launchers, and other forms of crowd control. (I am sure everyone's been there before, the moment before performing that final hit of their photon art which was hopefully going to crit for 29K; only for the final hit to abruptly be interrupted and sent 50ft away from the target.)
    Still holding out hope for an Overcharge redesign, however remaining sceptical.
    Usually listen to these interviews to learn more about abilities I did not know about the class I play, I was not expecting one of the Best Hunters on the Server to run into relatable issues.
    And was not expecting VolkRaptor to be excellent, for a very long time I thought the tuning of the ability to be completely bugged.
    Thanks for telling everyone how Volkraptor functions, Madomach! :D
    For changes to Hunter, I have to agree 100% with everything Madomach have to say.

    As always appreciate you and these interviews man, I've been dabbling with Hunter a bit since I came back and finished levelling my main classes - used to main partisan back in base before I just got fed up with it and went with fighter daggers- so this is really enlightening to me.

    Always love interviews like this. Great job!
    Even though I never play hunter, but these interviews still help me a lot, especially when people asking me suggestions for gear building.
    I did not know hunter has PB building issue, therefore if people ask me in the future whether they should go for Orgsys or Performa for hunter really depends on whether they could get an extra PB or not.
    I really love the topic of "using HP as your resource" idea. Ranger sometimes trade HP for keeping blight round purple (now less common because they relaxed cancel timing for blight) or trading HP for fear eraser. I thought i was the only one doing it but surely it is not. This mean EX augment wise, people can use risky stance for extra PP and self damage (not punishing like burn), endure pain pb boost (maybe less effective for hunter because of low hit count) but certainly patient defense because how hunter trade HP for damage and they can pretty much keep it at 25% damage resist for a single EX augment.
    Would be interesting if Hunter's perfect avenger actually regenerate a little bit HP.
    For multiweapons, they could've make multiweapon somehow work like an "unlockable" for this weapon. Say if you multi a sword with wirelance and partisan. Both Wirelance and Partisan is unlocked for that specific weapon, but you can only enable one of the subweapons, but this will allow you to switch subweapon without the need to remulti a weapon.
    Also, knowing Hunter moves a lot after watching this podcast, it seems like HU might not want to warcry, or warcry at wrong time, so people expecting a counter would miss it.
    As for overcharge, I would love to have a semi or partial overcharge that boost extra damage and cost extra pp linearly based on overcharged time. It would work very well on weapons like rod or bow.

    • @madomachikado
      @madomachikado Před měsícem +2

      You definitely got the core ideas that I wanted to convey and I agree with all your takeaways but i have suggestions for some of them.
      1. For the fixa one, it really depends on what weapon they are using and how is there pp consumption. For example: sword/wire and sword/partisan focusing more on sword will prefer more Increza because orgysys buffs the pb generation on your hits and sword has the lowest hit count, especially when pushing and using overcharge a lot, so they might prefer 2 increza and 1 orgysys. They could also prefer a mix of performa and increza to help with pp consumption because in certain scenarios, hunter can have pp consumption and pp recovery issues.
      2. For ex skill, if you are using partisan/sword, it is possible to make use of the conditional damage one like lively HP starling because you are not constantly taking damage in certain scenarios that allow for evasiveness over tanking, letting you keep your hp above 95%. For sword/wire and partisan/wire, you are locked out of the conditional ones because of hellish fall requiring you to use your hp and pp as a resource for damage, so the ex skill selection will be focused on improving tankiness and pp consumption/recovery. Endure Pain PB is excellent for hunter if you don't use ex tri-shield because whenever you get hit with it, you get a set amount of PB, and when considering that hunter has situations where you have to tank, it helps a lot with one of hunter's core weakness. But, tri-shield is by no means a bad option for hunter either because when an attack is blockable, you aren't forced to consume hp in scenarios where you would have. The goal of ex skill on hunter is to cover weaknesses and make its strength, stronger.
      3. Your over overcharge idea is very interesting in the context of hunter. This would be a great change that further incentivizes using your tankiness as a resource on hunter IF overcharge isn't the main source of damage for hunter. At the state that overcharge is right now, further overcharge will incentivize avoiding danger, even when the boss is attackable, to keep charging. But if hunter main damage moves away from overcharging and back to countering as much as possible, this idea would be great but I think it needs a cap for the extra dmg gained and pp consumed to incentivize decision making between stocking a wired lance avenger/partisan assault charge and keep charging to gain more pre-fire damage. I would also like to see super armor that activates along with the pp consumption to allow an on demand, weaker, hunter physique to help with keeping the overcharge and not get knocked out of it. Without a cap, there would be no nuance in deciding whether to keep charging on not in optimal play and that could create an unhealthy loop for hunter because if one thing does so much for what it is, why use anything else and be even more risky.
      There are lots of nuances in hunter so I wanted to add them to your takeaways. Please feel free to ask questions if you have any.

      @@madomachikado Wow very helpful knowledge and thank you so much for sharing!
      I agree with your Fixa idea. Yes Orgsys or Increza is only good if the content you are focusing on can actually either give you an extra PB, or at very least allowing you to align at least one PB at the time you want (otherwise you would not be able to achieve). For classes or weapons with pp issue, Performa or other form of pp regen should be prioritized so that they can have more PA up time for more damage.
      For EX skills, yes I am surprised that I actually forget about the Lively HP, maybe it is because I am so bad and I take chip damage a lot and lively would give me emotional damage. But yes Lively + Trishield would be a good combo for many players. Endure pain is an op EX augment for sure, it mixes especially well with either burn build or risky stance (the one I really like). With a class with slow PB build up, having something to makeup for its shortcoming is really really nice.
      I think my partial overcharge idea would benefit many classes including hunter. Force with charged technique could also benefit from it with well timed over charged technique followed by a grant/gifoie parry. Bow might be benefit from it as well but bow's main issue are lack of damage and backloaded PA like ceaseless draw that has no superarmor. I made a post in official discord suggesting this idea and let's see how it goes.
      Thank you very much for your detained reply.

    I'd like Overcharge gameplay if the bosses were remotely predictable, but TA quickly becomes an AI slot machine because you can't predict these weird enemies 3 seconds ahead of time. Pray for no bad attacks, pray for all crits... It's amazing how many ARKS Records attempts people pump out so they can get 40 badges.
    Optimal hunter dps requires futuresight while traditional classes can unga bunga spam their highest dps rotation, cancel with weapon action. Frustrating.

    • @madomachikado
      @madomachikado Před měsícem

      For hunter, it is true that you need a lot of foresight and good predicting of the boss' next move to perform well on any of the 3 weapons to make sure you didn't waste time doing something meaningless like charging without getting to overcharge, not doing fillers, etc. But I also believe that other classes also require that same foresight for their optimal damage too, its just on hunter, you don't get rewarded enough for your damage. This lack of damage for how much effort that can be put in is also true in braver, force, and techter.

    The only thing I believe that is holding Hunter back, (Fighter to), they chose to give it three weapons, and only let you multi Weapon 2, that is a whole other weapon the class is missing and they cannot utilise, As I can see them being pushed even further beyond if they could use all

  • @ShaleTheRed

    I use Wired Lance a tad more often than sword these days due to the many follow-up options I can do. EX augments like Tri-shield and Risky Stance can do a lot of wonders. I highly agree about damage when it comes to Hunter. Even if you overcharge, the damage may not even be sufficient enough given the time required. It's very crit dependent which can make certain Arks Record or other challenges (solo) more frustrating than it should be.

  • @mramisuzuki6962

    I’m gonna speak it real.
    Weapon and armor should just have potency on them plus the ex arguments.
    We should be giving a ring or necklace that takes the arguments instead.
    Give the necklace a mini potential that can be randomly generated on drop from some of the old weapons.
    This would still keep ATP a thing as you can try to find the best necklace and best exs on your weapon especially a weapon with a full potency roll.

      If this is the case, lower enemy mobs will be even easier to get one-shoted and leveling up character will be completely useless. New players will be even more reluctance to upgrade their gear.
      Current system makes sure lower rarity weapons tend to work better against mobs at their level (due to potency scaling factor and attack cap), removing attack stats completely will result in players farming low level contents for even more meseta (it will result in worse dext space scenario).

    • @mramisuzuki6962
      @mramisuzuki6962 Před měsícem

      @@delightXD 1st part who cares? Now how cool it was to find an epic low level weapon in wow or perfect low level weapon in POE is? This is actually quite the opposite for bad new player experience.
      2 part. Weapons still have a damage range and different potential.
      Players still need to need to get better gear to do more damage and need upper end augments for their necklace.
      The power scaling is a non-sequitur nothing in this change makes higher levels weapons more powerful as the damage modifier is a global effect that caps the damage at the mob level not the player level.

    I do you think they should shorten the time for restsigns so it can heal quickly than having to cast and wait to get healed.

    • @madomachikado
      @madomachikado Před měsícem

      I don't think they can make the healing effect any faster since healing is server side from what i can tell. The issue i find when using resta on hunter is that it interrupts your chain of action. For ex: you hellish fall, spam heal until it goes through, back to charging. The extra action that takes only 1 or 2 frames between hellish falling and back to charging can lead to your current charge not reaching overcharge or normal charge, breaking your chain of action. So the only solution for this issue, that I can think of, would be to somehow eliminate the need to activate healing one way or another.

    I disagree with bringing back Blaze Parry as-is. A better solution would be to give Hunter an Attack Speed boost whenever you successful hit an Avenger (say, +5% Attack Speed - stacking up to 2-4 times, whatever SEGA thinks is balanced).
    He said he doesn't want it to come back "as-is" like it is in PSO2, says he wanted the damage nerfed, then says it should be the strongest when in a situation where you want to counter. Like, ??? This is the same idea as bringing it back as-is. It's so contradictory that the meaning has been lost.

    • @madomachikado
      @madomachikado Před měsícem +5

      Maybe I wasn't being clear enough in the interview but bringing it back as-is would mean that the counter would be the only thing worth going for in every single situation even when alternative options that fits the scenario better still performs worst. The rebalanced, same functioning Blaze Parry that I want is something that sits as the meta in between every other option, as in step counter to front load and get more counters in stead sitting i-frames would be better; Overcharge Avenger prefire when the boss leaves the arena to be better when it happens; perfect charge avenger to make sure your entire counter hits instead of some parts of Blaze Parry would be better; ETC.
      I'm not against the attack-speed buff to avenger, but if it applies to avenger and nothing else changes, the cycle repeats because you still want to prioritize finding Overcharge Avenger windows over everything since its still 2 pas in 1 but now even faster cast time so more DPS for doing nothing different. For the other 2 weapons, avenger attack speed buff would help their QOL and damage that they needed so it would be a great change that I would also want.

      @cartoonvideos5 Před 10 dny

      @KronoKatastrophy It was a clunky and badly designed move that didn't work properly ever, and it was unbalanced because it was way too strong. If they bring it back to NGS, the visual effects on the sword need to be REMOVED completely, so big light waves don't just block my view of what the enemy is doing, and the parry windows needs to be SIGNIFICANTLY increased, and there needs to be some visual tell that you are blocking, even if you miss, like a momentary shield, and it needs it's power nerfed. That's the only way I can accept that move coming back.
