I love catching bluegill and shellcracker, and they are one of the best eating fish, better than crappie. They are the best panfish to catch for the fight!
I ventured to a pond, and wow did it have a ton of big bluegill and shellcrackers! These gills are hard to beat! In this video I give you some good tips to help you catch more and bigger bluegill! This is such a simple way to catch them! This pond was very good and produces big bluegill.

I through a tiny crankbait one morning in a good and old stockpond it hit the water perfect . An ok bass crushed it .I tried to set the hook and missed that big bass . Well turns out the bass would swim with but not completely take the bait . He didn't bite again eather . Nothing else hit that plug so I switched to a plastics worms . Same thing happened again different bass . He just swam with the worm so I let him run a good while . Hooksett and Nothing but I did feel him let go one time . Like on your channel great action .

when you set the hook down it makes it harder to get the fish because its kinda pulling the hook out of the fishes mouth. But if you set the hook up then you'll hook there top lip and catch em
Possibly. But also can take longer to set it that way and they spit it out

Good Word at the end of the video! I was thinking while you were talking, Jesus wasn’t in sin but yet the enemy took Him to different locations to tempt Him. I was thinking when we find ourselves in different locations that we are not use to, we need to be careful to keep our minds in the Word. It is the only defense that works. Hello. I am a rank beginner (at 50 years old!) and I am wondering why you use a jig hook? I've been using a small weighted bobber and a (#8) hook with earthworms to catch bluegills in a nearby reservoir. I do have some jig hooks that my oldest son got many years ago when he did a dnr youth fishing program, and they are only a little bigger than the ones I've been using, so I might try them but I'm curious about why they'd be any better/different?

@@FishingwithNordbye Thanks awfully! I really like the weighted bobbers so I'm not putting (lead) split shot in the water but I see now how a jig head would be similar. It's fun being a beginner! And, not being a believer but having been brought up in a church, I do like that you share the Gospel. I miss it sometimes!
I like using jig heads so they don’t swollow the hook. I find it better because most of the time just using a plain hook they swollow it. Now to the most important thing I did pray for u that god will go fishing with u and let u see how important it is 2 believe in god
