Good morning from the Mohawk Valley!!! (New York State) Loved the video! Must be such an awesome feeling to not only see the wood go but to also sell a chunck of the cookies. I've been watching since video #1 and I have to say, congrats on #500!!!! The wood yard is growing, your skills with the tractor are improving and sales keep coming in. Hard work DOES pay off, you Sir are living proof of that. Keep up the awesome videos!!
Congrats on 500 videos! That is a lot of work to produce 500 quality videos. It's a lot of work to produce the amount of firewood you do to build inventory and watch it all disappear so quickly. However, it sure feels good to rescue all those Benjamins from a tragic fate at the shopping mall. They feel so much better in the woodyard! 😎 CYN & GNI
I missed this one when you posted it. I love watching you work your ass off chucking wood. How much wood could a woodchris chuck when a woodchris has to deliver wood? One of my brothers kids is a firewood guy in Dutchess County New York. I see how much work he does in his so called part time job. Jesus you work hard, brother.
Congrats on video #500! Wind storm then rain here in Oregon. Lost telework connectivity company wide. Watching cookie sales beats waiting around for work connectivity to come back. I bet after this wind and rain storm, some Craigslist ads pop up due to trees down.
Hey Steve I am already seeing some ads in my area just south of Seattle.. Unfortunately my wood yard us small and I am out of room for more at this time..
I sold firewood in the 1980's as a hobby with no woodyard. On one of my days off, I would cut/split a full cord of firewood and stack on my truck with racks. And then the next day, sit on a street corner in town with a for sale sign for $90 with the back of the truck toward the street. I worked swing shift back then. Longest I waited to sell was about 4 hours. Many times, just minutes. I sold 32 full cords this way. I got a day job, so firewood sales ceased. I have always heated with a woodstove, and cut a couple cords a year, give or take, all free. The Aumsville tornado in 2011 provided lots of firewood, a friend logged a few acres from his property in 2012, and got what he could not sell to the mill, so I had about 12 cords stacked. 3 cords at my house, and about 9 cords at my sisters property. I didn't need to cut again until 2018. This year, the ice storm in February provided lots. I can still get a bunch of that from 2 different friends properties. But, I am out of room at home, until I burn more. I just made room for 2 pallets of wood, so will get some when it stops raining in Oregon ha ha. I have 3 years personal use firewood right now. I also made room on the other side of my house for 4 pallets. But that I would need to wheelbarrow over, so not sure I will do that. But I am interested in doing firewood bundles. I hope to retire in a few years, so would like to get back into selling firewood. I do love running my 30 year old Husqvarna 61. I have my eye on a wood splitter, the Harbor Freight one, as I am not a young chicken anymore. Splitting 4 full cords by hand this past spring from the ice storm, my back is not able to handle too much at a time anymore. I want to do firewood mainly for exercise and also for a few of the Benjamin family for fishing tackle.
I just love watching you load that maple out having watched you cut split and stack it. Well all my deer 🦌 hunters are out sitting this morning, opening day of gun season in Michigan today. Made my grandson and his dad there fried bologna and egg sandwiches and hot chocolate and my daughter and her husband are out trying to wack there deer 🦌. As always great video and take care my friend 😀
G’morning Chris. Nice to see the cookie bin getting emptied ! Did you say his was a a Ford ?? Looks pretty Chevy-esk to me. HAHA. Nice work. GoodNightIrene
He is a wise man getting all of those cookies. This is indeed beautiful weather to be out in the woodpile. We even had our 1st freeze here in the NC mountains a few nights ago.
Good morning Chris!!😀😀 That was a heck of a load on that Ford. If he comes for another load there won't be any left for me. I was definitely looking forward to getting a couple loads. Keep up the good work my friend!!😀 Logger Al
@@InTheWoodyard I'm not going deer hunting this year. For the first time since I was 12 years old. My health isn't going to let me this year. The long haul covid has really messed me up. Hopefully I will get better soon.
If you’re looking at a new trailer, look at getting a galvanized one- especially being in the rust belt where they use salt on the roads and you’re doing winter deliveries.
Greetings from Scotland. Those cookies would be great for my Woodburner! For a load that size I would typically be charged around £810. Really enjoy the content you produce. Top man!
I always start my burning season burning cookies, I have approx a face cord of them every year, all I do is take a pallet, about a 10ft length of 72" metal fencing, use bailing wire to make a cylinder then heave all my cookies into the cylinder, they dry staggered and pretty quick, def like doing it this way and the cookies burn real nice, I can stack them tight in my stove (sometimes I think I get more wood volume in the stove in cookie pieces rather then my traditional 18" splits lol) but it work, works good and is easy, plus I'm not wasting my hard work either which is a win.
I do the same thing here. I also stack the odd pieces that don't stack well up on the top, so they are the first wood I take off to burn. Like you, I hate not using every piece of wood.
Looks like from Halloween on starts your happy holiday time ? Lots of deliveries and seeing lots of green , the only color that really does help make for a good quality of Life for you and your Family ! All that hard work and a little good luck does pay off indeed , very happy for you ! Success can be an unmanageable thing at times , but you are working very hard to be even more efficient . Wishing you good luck and good health this holiday season !
Hello from Chicago! I was really surprised you didn’t load up that last load of Maple for tomorrow. Sun was shining, looked like perfect chucking weather!
Glad you are selling Cookies!!! I like the Thin Mints best!!!😂😂😂😂 My hydraulic cylinder took a dump Saturday, trying to find a place to repair it today!! Have a Safe Day
Excellent clear-out sale Chris, good on ya! Great way to move low-value inventory in bulk like that, to one buyer prepared to take a large amount at one shot. Quite a few of your "cookies" don't look that bad! My similar pile is more like "mutants" than "cookies", but that's how it goes with elm :P
Wire brush attachment in a drill and remove the worst of the rust and then stabilise it with rust preventative and paint it black, good for a couple of years until new trailer prices aren’t stupid.
What a game changer your new tractor has been , I know it was quite an investment for such a frugal businessman that you are , but it certainly has played a big part in making your wood yard so much more organized and efficient ! I’m sure you can only say now that you should have invested in one earlier?
Good morning Chris,,” In the woodyard 500” sounds like a car race, congrats, just the beginning. That Is a great bargain for your cookies, I’m sure he will clean you out! Have a good day
Did I hear you say the truck you loaded with cookies was a Ford? I hate to say it but it was Chevy it GMC. About a 1995 right there some where. I'm a Ford Guy myself and realized your little hiccup. Shhh I won't tell your editor. Lmao your really do amazing work in your show you're the first I watch daily. Great job Chris your deserve 250,000 followers by now. You do great work.
It took me a while to figure out why my daily Woodyard entertainment and tutelage was an hour later......daylight saving is something we don't have. As always worth waiting the extra time
Shop your local concrete delivery places and see if they make those big retainer wall blocks (ones here are 3'x3'x4' and have a keyway in the top/bottom for stacking). Make a 3 sided bin to dump your cookies in, and then you can simply scoop them up with bucket instead of hand loading. Now you have a tractor, use it !
Hey Chris! I have been doing some research on putting in a road to my woodlot and came across a product that you spray on your dirt roads and it turns it into a concrete like road. Might be a cheaper option for you instead of putting in a gravel road. Its called soil stabilizer and there's many brands that make it. Something to look into when you're bored
I know you think because of the rust on your trailer that you can't do nothing about it. It's just the way it is. Well how old is your trailer? A gallon of Rust-Oleum black paint a cheap 6-in roller. You could paint that trailer up. Make it last a few more years
Hi Chris I know that I’ve also learned from your chainsaw sharpening skills but I went and bought a Harbor freight Chicago electric chain saw chain sharpener tool man I love it nothing bad yet learning and watching over others channels to learn it but I know a sharp chain is a good chain
Yep it’s been a quicker way to get chains sharpened and so far I’ve done 4 of our craftsman 46CC 20” organ bar and chain plus my dads chain that he’s stuck in the ground to many times on a 028 stihl wood boss 50CC 16” bar and chain on it so far razor sharp on both saws
I missed the video showing the finishing up of the New large cookie bin. Can you steer me to it; even just how long ago the video was posted in weeks ? Thnx…
Chris I have been looking as well.. They are high here on the west Coast as well.. My last quote was 8k delivered from Los Angeles to me just south of Seattle..
Good morning Chris. Nice cookie sale! When the word get out you probably won't have to store so many in the woodyard. Ok back to looking for deer 🦌. GNI
Chris, I asked a month ago about your inventory of stacked wood and it was about 180 full cords. I am guessing that you are down to about 100 full cords. Those Benjamin’s are having babies!
Other guys that do firewood on CZcams are showing yard setup. I watched a lot of your vids. But... 1. How are you keeping the grass manged in between piles. 2. The free skids I get have big spaces. They suck to walk on. You buy skids? 3. When I screws my upright skids on... As a marker between cords... How do you get them back apart so easy? 4. I seem to have to rake every year and have a mound of bark and bits. You burn it? 5. You sharpen chains. But I've had to fix my old bar. Made it even with a belt sander. Parallel. So my bar goes down instead of sideways. You must spend a fortune on bars. Redress? 6. I bought the kynco gloves. Both pig and goat. No further review? 7. I wear a smart watch. I get 10 to 20k steps a day. People who watch have no idea how active and how many calories you must eat. No calorie counter? 8. I wear crappy boots. Wore out gloves a pair a week last year. Damn boots won't wear out. But when they do I need a boot suggestions. 9. I have more but this shouldn't be email length. Your work ethic seems awesome.
I do not have the time to answer all of your questions so I will say this, watch more of my videos, most of your questions will be answered. 9. I like to work 8 .KEEN boots 7. No counter needed, I walk all the steps and eat what I want. 6.Kinkos are my favorites, all gloves wear out eventually. 5.No, I get a couple new bars a year. 4. I rake a lot and I am filling in some low spots in my woods for now. 3. I do not screw, I nail. 2. No, I get mine free 1. I mow it or spray it with round up.
That is a lot of chucking for one day, but I'm sure you are happy to see the cookies turned to cash. Did that old Ford have a dump box? Cool old truck. GNI
Here's a challenge for ya. Count how many sticks you get in a cord! lol. Ok maybe a face cord x3. That would be interesting. Then, you could have an accurate estimate on what you make per cord vs what you'd make if you did go to bundles. Or, possibly hire a "bundle kid."
Im suprised you didnt make height extensions for the doors on the back of your trailer. I have your trailers twin and im making new doors for it that match the 3 foot walls. Stresses me out worrying about if the wood is gonna stay or not
Ah.....see, had you bought FORKS instead of (or in addition too) that grapple, moving pallets would simply be a matter of stacking them on top each other and move with the tractor. Need to move them again ? Already stacked.....simply pick up with the forks and move. I've been moving logs, lumber, slabwood, and all manner of things on pallets for 30 years and have yet to see the need for a grapple.
I saw you moving dirt in your last video… and it looked like the berm is stiff …if you would go in there first with the grapple of your tractor and break it up it would be a lot easier to scoop up.
Hey Chris, do I have a trailer for you. It can hold 3 ton. 81' wide x 12' long x 2' high inside. It can hold about 163 cu. ft. or about 1.25 cords of wood if you stack it. Has two pull out ramps and door at the back that open out and can also be used a a dump trailer tail gate. The weight of the trailer is 3,760 pounds and comes in Red, Gray, or Black. The name of the trailer is bennet's of Ohio. I must watch how I tell you because Big brother is watching what I say. If you had an e mail I could send you more info. This trailer would be great for you Chris.
The cut off odd sized pieces of wood chunks from logs that are under sized and are not pretty enough for selling to customers that want wood that will look nice and stack nice.
Good morning from the Mohawk Valley!!! (New York State) Loved the video! Must be such an awesome feeling to not only see the wood go but to also sell a chunck of the cookies. Nice spaghetti western music. In fast motion when you throw them in the trailer, it looks like they are coming back AT you.
Thanks Glen, I like the tunes too!

Yes, I said the wrong name, first mistake ever! HA!
Haha. I though I was wrong once,,,,
He is a wise man getting all of those cookies. This is indeed beautiful weather to be out in the woodpile. We even had our 1st freeze here in the NC mountains a few nights ago.
Yes cookies and chunks burn great in a wood boiler.
I just love the sound of dry wood landing on concrete. -Dave
Me too, bowling pins!
About time you sold those cookies. Good job.
Yes it is, they are like fine wine, the have aged properly!
Good morning Chris!!😀😀

I'll have to make some cookies for you instead! Once I get back to cutting and splitting, will have another load for your trailer.
I am going to do a trade with you as soon a deer hunting is done! Aim small miss small!

I am looking at them, hard to find!
Oh yeah! congrats on video number 500!
Thanks Chewy!
👍every bit of wood has a purpose. Nothing wasted. Wood chips and mulch also.
Yup, I would like to sell the saw dust and debris too!
Saw dust is great for compost toilets. And the debris add to the mulch pile. Everything has a use.
Greetings from Scotland.

An Oreo cookie commercial preceded this video. How fitting was that. 😁

A great day for sales, one of your best. Keep safe my friend.
You got that right! Thanks Gerry!
Shop your local concrete delivery places and see if they make those big retainer wall blocks (ones here are 3'x3'x4' and have a keyway in the top/bottom for stacking). Love the Music!!

Good morning Chris another comical cookie🍪sale video. I'm glad to know the benjamins are having a family reunion in your pocket 🤣😂🤣
Good morning Ron! Yup, home where they belong!
Gotta love it when the Franklin family shows up for a cookie sale
Yup, going to a good home!

I see the liftgate on the back, but does it have a dump bed, too? Might be perfect for someone who delivers a lot of firewood. Merry Christmas
No it does not dump.
Keeping busy seems not to be one of your problems . Have a great day !
I like to work! Thanks for watching Bruce!
Now that's the way to sell cookies won't take long to fill it again
Yup, it was a good sale of cookies!
Made my day again! Thanks! 😁
Thanks for watching Dan!

That was about 5 months ago, and it was titled giant cookie bin I think.
Couple of nice loads that went out.
Take care
Yup, thanks LARRY!
Id hold off on selling that trailer. I cant believe how much new ones are now due to covid.
I want/need a bigger one!

dumb and dumber part had me laughing haha
Thanks!!

Congrats on video 500.

Cookies make a massive load! LOL
Yes, they sure did!
Good morning from Piqua Ohio.
Hello Stanley!
And no more cookie sales. That's Bert wood now.
We will still sell some, he will not be able to burn it all.
@In The Woodyard true.
I have to take a guess - you must dream about stacking!
Ha! Maybe nightmares!!
That is a lot of chucking for one day, but I'm sure you are happy to see the cookies turned to cash. Did that old Ford have a dump box? Cool old truck. GNI
No, I said it was a Ford, but it was a Chevy! It does not dump! More chucking for John!
I sell to a bundle guy and he gets about 40 bundles per face cord...1/3 of a cord.
@@InTheWoodyard Oh, I see. You're just getting out of showing you can't count that high. I'm on to you!!! jk. lol
Hi Chris, love to see the jets fly by once in a while. Do you ever have fighter jets go by? It would be great to see and hear them.
No, the nearest bases are 100 miles south and 100 miles west.
And just like that at 10:37 cookies leaving never to be seen on CZcams again..🤣🤣😁👍
I DO HAVE MORE!
Nice to make a recovery on that underutilized product.
Thanks, and as you know Harry, it is great wood to burn for heat!
Indeed, often crotch wood.
Glad to see those cookies find a home! Burning ours now in the wood stove! -Brad
I still have another 4-5 full cords! They do burn nice and hot and long!
Happy 500th. Are those cookies infused?
Thanks! I am not sure what you mean by infused.
@@InTheWoodyard word play on green edibles in the form of cookies 🤣
Im suprised you didnt make height extensions for the doors on the back of your trailer. I have your trailers twin and im making new doors for it that match the 3 foot walls. Stresses me out worrying about if the wood is gonna stay or not
Good move, I was always going to, now I have a new bigger trailer on my mind!
Not a bad amount of money to make from a bunch of "junk" or "garbage" wood.
Yes it is good for both of us, it is great boiler wood!
I love cookies
HA! Me too!
I'm sure emptying that truck is gonna suck
I think he made his wife do it! HA!
O-No, The Pro Photographer! Forgot to film! There is your Sign! Like Elmer says Father Time is BERRY Sneaky😂🚜🪵🇺🇸
Yup, my mic was not working, I think I accidentally bumped it off!
Have you thought about trying to use the grapple to break up your dirt pile Chris
YES! and I just did that, you will see it soon!
Good job 👍
Thanks for watching!
Yup, some day I will.
Maybe John is going to resale that wood and make money on all your hard work Chris. Hey Chris the Morgan's have a trailer made by bennet's.
Nope he is using it to heat his shop and house in a wood boiler.
I thought you had a pallet fork for your tractor?
Nope, some day I will, when I need them bad enough.
You should do an inventory video to show what you have. Seems like you’ve been selling a lot
I am to busy selling and delivering firewood to count what is left! I just keep getting orders to fill. That is a good thing!
Whoohoo, video nr 500!!!
Yup, I am just getting started!
Sure looked like a chevy front end to me! But I wasn’t there!
Yes it was, I said it wrong!
@@InTheWoodyard that’s okay, a Ford would have pulled twice that amount! Haha
What number is on the side of the truck? 3500? Never heard of a 1.5 ton. Nice truck. What year.
I saw you moving dirt in your last video… and it looked like the berm is stiff …if you would go in there first with the grapple of your tractor and break it up it would be a lot easier to scoop up.
I did that just yesterday and it did work great! I will do
it again!
This trailer would be great for you Chris.
chrisinthewoodyard@gmail.com Send it!
That Ford looks an awful lot like a gm to me.
Maybe so!
That's a wood hauling machine...BUT hate to break it to ya Chris...It's a Chevy...lol. But anyway he's getting a good load of wood
Maybe so! Ha!
I’m trying not to sound silly, but what are “cookies “ ?
The cut off odd sized pieces of wood chunks from logs that are under sized and are not pretty enough for selling to customers that want wood that will look nice and stack nice.
