Work on public infrastructure like proper metro and buses
It would be better to invest in better public transport and metro infrastructure. A lot of the congestion can be removed if private vehicles are reduced.
On ORR the public transport is terrible and the only option is to use private cars and bikes.
If you can't stop water from clogging a normal underpass when it rains for just 30 mins, imagine the flood situation inside tunnels!

what a joke, existing roads are more than sufficient. solution is removing pedestrians who are walking on the roads, we need to provide footpaths for them and 90% footpaths across bangalore are encroached by private shops or buildings taht should be adressed first.

Tunnels are such a bad idea for a growing city. They can’t be easily extended. Building on and off ramps will again congest traffic.
Why can’t they strategically solve the traffic?!! Analyze what contributes to traffic and put strategies in place to remove that traffic off road.
STRR and peripheral RR seem like good ideas to reduce traffic within city. Daily commuters should use public transport. One should pay extra to use certain roads in peak hours. Have a common pass for all public transport including last mile transport (autos, e scooters, ola cab)

Good plan but won't give respite in the near future for Bangalore. At least a minimum of 10 years is required as the distance is also too much which is 190 kms
Problem is illegal constructions and encroachment of roads. Not single road in Bangalore has consistent width. Also dead ends. The city has most dead ends than any other city in country. Literally people encroach land at end of road and create obstacle.

The pressure that mounts on the road infrastructure such as cars and other motor vehicles should not be encouraged much. If everyone who goes out of home gets a metro within 500m to 1 km of walking distance, they would never bother or need to drive again while improving road infrastructure will only increase vehicular traffic. The road infra can be sorted out by building 30x more flyovers and making many roads signal free where the flow is atleast guareteed - slow or fast rather than endlessly waiting at the red signal.

Tunnles construction will take time and expensive. Bangalore does no have a proper drainage system now. I dred what will happen in ORR and electronic city road when it starts to rain, tunnels will be flooded and people may even loose life. I hope tunnels are constructed wherever needed but flyover+Metro in single pier and sky-bus are all needed. We need better and reliable public transport too.
Seems like a headline seeking move coz tunnelling is very expensive and never 1st choice, especially roads as they have to be wide and provide larger air pumps. Tunnels are made for short distance in urban areas. They also take forever to plan and build compared to at grade roads and flyovers. If they released a project report or study, then people should take it seriously. Sounds just like Hyperloop coming to India

from 20 years i am waiting for a flyover from Kengeri to majestic through Mysore road. In airport road they will construct fly over but no under pass.
