- Sita goes on a trip with her friends. One night during the trip she sleepwalks and her life is saved by Ram as she was sleepwalking on the tracks. Sita's father gets both of them married as he is impressed by Ram. After marriage Sita realises her sleepwalking is not mere sleepwalking, but it takes her to her past life. A past life in which she was princess Neel Kamal in love with an artisan Chitrasen. Her father doesn't approve of the artisan and buries him alive. Will Sita be able to lead a normal life? Will her past life haunt her? Will she ever be able to set free from this sleepwalking problem?

The calm, and logical acting of Sir Manoj Kumar cannot be compensated by this mare descriptive praise.The Heroic enthu of Sir Raj Kumar, and above all the melodious voice of Srimati Lata Mangeshkar is difficult to get erased.

Neel Kamal (1968) blongs to Waheeda Rehman- she won the Filmfare Award 🏆for her performance as Raajkumari (princess) Neel Kamal/ Sita to Manoj Kumar's Ram. Comedian Mehmood (1932-2004) is priceless as always "Khali Daba Khali Botal Lele Mere Yaar"- Manna Dey- "Don't spite emptiness, the entire world 🌎is empty". In essence, this film is about the afterlife/reincarnation. The hauntingly beautiful "Aaja Tujhko Pukare Mera Pyar" by Rafi saab. Not forgetting the talents of the scheming mother in law- Lalita Pawar & the wicked daughter portrayed by Shashikala!! Also not forgetting the talents of character actor Balraj Sahni (1913-1973).

Dear Ones, I watched this movie, a Masterpiece when I was teen. Recently, I've read someone commented that Raj Kumar Saab, in this movie he was the King's Sculptor.
The King was not happy with his Sculptor and the Kingbordered that the Sculptor be cemented.
As far as I know, Raj Kumar Saab was the Crown Prince and he was in a forbidden love with a dancer in the palace
The Maharaj (the King) reprimanded his Crown Prince and due to his obedience, the Crown Prince was cemented when he was still alive - Ana from Malaysia

First time i saw this movie in 1984 in vivek cinema at matinee show. Wow!!! What a movie melodious music, specially rafi sahib kya baat hai. Now after 35 year later i watch this blockbuster movie. All the artists done a good job. Old is gold always.

I watched it 1/2/2020...once again. Beautiful print. So good to see great actors like Lalita Pawar-ji, Manoj Kumar-ji, Shashi Kala-ji, Mehmood-ji, Waheeda Rehman-ji...such melodious songs. No comparison to today's garbage Bollywood films... nonsense songs and stories alike. Useless films. This was a treat.
