I play a Magic the Gathering Online Vintage league with Atraxa Oath, a deck from Patreon subscriber Jon. In preparation for the NYSE Open I am once again playing Atraxa Oath Show and Tell Combo. This was my deck for eternal weekend Prague and Pittsburgh in 2023 and one of the most represented and winningest decks I've played on the channel for the last 6 months. I'm back at it again, trying to put Atraxa into play and overcome the Lurrus meta. Show me the angel!

As someone that could never get into vintage before, this deck made me "get" vintage, so I don't mind the repeated showings on the channel!

Oath is easily my favorite vintage deck
This deck is the perfect mix of doing degenerate thing in a competitive way while at the same time being an extremely cool and fun deck.

You've mentioned in videos like this how the metagame flows between white and black themed Lurris decks, and Oath's position shifts with that. I'm curious what gives the black Lurris decks so much of an edge over the white ones? Is it just Bowmen making a deck featuring Lavina beats look silly?
Black decks get tutors which makes vault key much better. As well as that they can play time twister to combo with bowmasters. Deck is much better at killing people than the UW builds
Could call this deck BOSH = Bolas’ Citadel, Oath of Druids, SHow and Tell.
oko is so busted in every other format but it's probably one of the coolest and most fun play patterns in vintage
I know Timetwister is the worst of the Power 9, but it would be dope if you could include it in this deck somehow (even in the sideboard), just to say that you have all of the power 9 in the deck

Wow! Modern Horizons III brought so many cool new card to Standard! I!!!!! can not wait to play this new format!! Why does MTG Arena look so bad though?????????
Would a side board Echo of Eons be a decent consideration? If you expect Atraxa to die, you can mill over Echo and shuffle back. It'd be useful in more situations than Gaea's I think. At the very least it's a blue card so never as dead. Might be goo cute though
The other reason to not play Lurrus is Jewel.
But that's, to be fair, not a fair deck.
1:26:21 you could have played Oko with your lands on this turn, and hard cast Atraxa the following turn. Was that a viable option or is Oko with Flusterstorm backup just a million times better always?

The last 10 or so videos I have noticed a beeping underpinning your voice whenever you speak. Kind of hard to hear but impossible to not once you notice it. Not sure if it is something with your microphone or post-processing, but I would appreciate if you could try to fix it. Otherwise, great video as always.

Yeah it’s great vs creature decks, Oko decks, and gives you a Tinker target that doesn’t need a high life total to function.
I love vintage in all aspects except getting 'vintaged'.
I would love the format and its play patterns, with the exception of lotus and ancestral. I think lurrus is a bit too prevalent for my taste, but I'm opposed to getting rid of it completely.

Is there a world where instead of 3 Atraxa you run either 2 Atraxa 1 Griselbrand or 2 Atraxa 1 Jin-Gitaxis Core-Augur? That way you don't end up clogged with Legends?
Probably not, atraxa’s etb is basically a griselbrand activation, and if you draw her she pitches to both forces, which is really good, and how often do you need two 7 power beaters when the other creatures in the formats are 1/1s and 2/2s
@@matteocecchetto7252 I was thinking Jin in particular pitches to Force and if it survives the turn, drawing 7 without life loss is great, and it is crippling to the opponent if it lives through theirs.

I don't know what it's called, but I remember it from the Hydraullic Press Channel intro.

Hey Brian, haven't watched this video through to see if this is fixed, but I have noticed that your mouse clicking noises have been pretty audible the last few videos. It's definitely not a big deal, but your production value has always been very good and in case you haven't been aware I thought I would let you know. They aren't particularly annoying, but I feel like I can even tell that your mouse is one of those ergonomic ones by the specific sounds from the mouse
