People in the area probably take it for granted, but riding the ferry is such a neat experience. Driving your car onto a boat, and then getting out and walking around and looking at the ocean and scenery, and then driving off into a new adventure. At least that's how it feels for me.
It’s ridiculously priced to ferry to alaska
@@zakksrage Yes, it is. The Port Angeles ferry is peanuts by comparison. But, the Inland Passage is pretty amazing.
That’s so interesting. I live in the country of the fjords so we got so many ferries everywhere. Never thought about it this way, I always took it for granted. Love your viewpoint.
I agree! I've been on that ferry so many times (I've lived on whidbey for 20 something years). Nothing like heading to Port Townsend early in the morning, knowing what lays ahead. There is nothing like heading out towards the coast from there. I'm glad I have taken advantage of my time here. One time during mid pandemic when things first started opening up again, I drove out to Cape Alava and didn't get behind a single car and didn't see a single person the whole hike it was the most amazing hike I've ever been on, so peaceful.

Brother deserves many more viewers for the level of content he is creating. Thanks for taking us along Timmy!
He's going to start getting less viewers if he doesn't cool it with his clickbait titles
@@PersononYT56 They all use it because YOU tUBE advices them it helps in the Alogorithm...lMAO ...and I still disagree with you on that....(HIS numbers will exponentially grow!!!
Sentiments are spot on!!!
Canada is not just a highway for youtubers to Alaska. We have rules and laws.
You ending with very wise words. I was born in Vancouver BC and moved about 5 hours north. Life surrounded by nature is a beautiful way to live
After this video, I think Alaska has made a few more moves up on our bucket list!
Mine too....(just have to retire first)!!!
Do it!
@@TruckHouseLife It definitely has moved up to my top 3 places to visit!
This channel is pure art. Love following your journey brother.
Appreciate the kind words Travis.
Safe travels and may 2023 bring you great health and happiness
Happy New Year!
Nothing like home. What a mess out there!
Loved your commentary while in Vancouver about society. Great vid, thank you.
Regards from South Africa
Great vid! Your spot on about not controlling population… crazy how it has exploded worldwide over the past 30, 40, 50 years!!
Heyyyyy Timmy!! Picked up water tips from your livestream with Brian at Backcountry and it's helped so much, thank you!! Love your vids!!
right on!
I've had the pleasure of visiting Alaska twice and I totally get you.. I would live there every summer if I could .. not sure about the winter though
Did you drive through Canada? Cause we have laws.
@@omaha_warrior605 we flew
That is so awesome to watching your video's thank you for having us tag along. Happy New Year and stay safe.
Happy New Year!
Lived in Eagle River and Chugiak (wife in the USAF) and I fully understand your relief at passing out of the last of the cities and into the natural world. I even experience the same feeling of descent from frenzy to calm and serenity just crossing the Mississippi heading west! To go back up to Alaska is that relief times ten!
wish you a lovely safe journey Timmy!💓
Thanks for the video, very insightful. The problem I’m seeing in my town 800+ people is everyone is moving here because it’s small and away from progress . But now it’s growing and progress is overtaking us and it’s becoming a dilemma. Be careful what you wish for it can change someone else’s life and you don’t even know it .
Happy Trails
Don't worry your uncle Ted will solve that for you
Mile zero of the Alaska highway is in Dawson Creek Canada about an 8 hour drive away from where you are right now
Kindred spirits. I understand and live in a small community on the eastern side of the Sierra. I have friends who don't understand and have to live where the population density is in the hundreds of thousands. That last monologue has been one of your best POV that explains much.
Carry on.
Right on:)
Next time your in BC come over to Vancouver Island 👍🏻
I’ve driven to Alaska, it’s an amazing drive. Anchorage blew me away, we didn’t stay long there to busy and modern. Alaska and the Yukon are full of amazing things to see.
I agree with your sentiments regarding big cities. One pro is that high rises help mitigate urban sprawl...even though I couldn't live in one. And regarding Vancouver and Seattle...they are among the greener cities I've seen across Canada and US. Toronto and Chicago were far worse imo. But I can understand your sentiments after leaving the city. I sometimes visit Vancouver and my stress level decreases when leaving...so I can empathize with your feelings. Thanks for sharing.
Dudes a paid actor. Absolutely fantastic
lol
Awesome Timmy. Keep on Trucking!
always!
Love the ending! Glad you made it across i dont know how people live in cities i tried last year and only made it 3 months before going crazy!
Dude, I have been loving the outros lately, with your real talks over some footage. Great audio 👌
Thanks:)
Have a great new year Timmy🎉
Happy New Year!
Amen!
So we'll said Timmy!
Safe travels homeward and Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!
Nice Thule upgrade! My ol Yakima box also rattled itself apart and cracked.
Yup didn't realized the Thule is definitely built better until I bought one.
Good mooooorning Truck House Timmy, greetings from Oregon......Keep on rolling dude 😎🌎❤
I don't know how long you spent in Port Townsend, but it is my favorite town in Washington.
As a kid I always thought Alaska was a part of Canada. It still seems weird to think it's part of the US. I've been in Ontario Canada my whole life. And Alaska is on my list of places to visit.
Thanks for sharing. It's crazy how fast a year has gone by. It doesn't feel that long ago we were watching you do this trip last time.
even crazier to think that it was previously owned by russia
Welcome to Port Townsend. Sorry to miss you. ;-)
Made several ferry trips with loads of lumber on simi. Love the ride.
Good one Timmy..I really liked the voice over at the end.
Profound ending . Keep in mind everything we have is provided by the earth . Mankind has used its intelligence to harvest for a better quality of life . Ask someone who lived in the 17th century if he’d rather live with the comfort we have today . Driving your vintage truck isn’t destroying anything. It’s bringing joy to all your followers! Happy New Year 🎉
Thanks man:) Happy New Year!
I just saw you a couple hrs ago passing through Wasilla.. i was hey there’s that guy!!!! my wife was like what are you talking about
Yup back in AK! lol
Man i live in Winston-Salem north Carolina and i hate it i really like your outlook on things it's truly real and i totally feel the same 🤟🏻🤟🏻
hahaha I've lived that moment at the port townsend ferry so many times in my life I can't even count.... being like YES YES YES we made it! haha. You almost always need a reservation getting on that one, you got lucky! I missed the last ferry out of their once and had an amazing night walking around town and drinking at the bars.
C'mon home bro. Ive had my sled stuck 20 times already!!
I've only been stuck a couple lol;)
To be able to leave the city and go to a refuge in the wilderness is a true blessing from the Lord!
Thanks for taking us with you(again), have traveled so many of the same places. You should consider Baja sometime!
one day!
@@TruckHouseLife consider yourself invited!
What rejection? You made it through…..or am I missing something? Always love your videos. Thanks man.😊
Your fuel source is recycled dinosaurs….😂😂😂😂😂
I was rejected a couple years ago and had to turn around and drive all the way back.
great video, loved the monologue at the end too. looking forward to the AK HWY vids
More to come!
Ive been watching your videos for a while now. I dont often comment. I like how you have put yourself out there and you are doing what you love. You have inspired me to plan a camper build of my own. Anyway you must read through thousands of comments hope you see this one. Keep it up. Charlie.
That’s awesome Charlie good luck with the build man!
I feel the same way when i’m coming back to Maine
Alaska is definitely on my bucket list...
Do it!
Yep…🙏
Merry Christmas and Safe Travels
Happy New Year!
This should be interesting….US citizen transiting back home to Alaska denied?? …really?? Whole different story when Canuck guy wants to head south for an explore and doesn’t get on with customs bloke for any one of a multitude of reasons…..be any kind of a smarty pants & that’ll easily get you a 5 year to lifetime ban from the USA with no recourse whatsoever. Be an a-hole to CBP guy, and things go downhill very, very quickly.
It's the same heading north. I'm redflagged for life because of one salty agent lol. Too bad Timmy isn't coming up through the southern border. No questions there lol. Shit they'll give you a cell phone
Nope, just my fear of crossing it after getting rejected in this one: czcams.com/video/kFWkYi00_JE/video.html
Spent 10 years in the PNW just off the Olympic Peninsula and spent lots of time in Pt Townsend. Moved back to Southern Cal and live out near Joshua Tree for the same reasons...to live away from the crowds. We've traveled ( we pull a trailer) up to the Yukon via the Alaskan Hwy and then back from the Yukon to the Pt. Townsend area via the Cassiar Hwy with a stop in Hyder AK and what an amazing drive. We really enjoy your channel. Safe Travels and Happy 2023!
Right on! Happy New Year!
I feel ya, my friend.
As a Canadian who moved to the U.S. in 1988, I've had to cross the border many times and I've had to deal with Customs and Immigration on both sides many times.
They can make your life very difficult, even if everything is in order on your side.
Glad you made it through without difficulty this time.
Love your videos, Timmy!
Love the end 💘
Omg I've been seeing your CZcams live them I must have like 24 so far but I'm going to share them on my facebook sweetie I love your video wish I would have see them 35 years ago I'm too old to travel and your right enjoy life while u can tc n God bless
Thank you:)
I think we all yearn for just a little bit of what you have! I’m certain you’re grateful for what you do have and realize it was a choice you made early on! I look back at my life and wish at times I had done similar if only for a little while! Enjoy your journey, and we’ll live vicariously thru you and your adventures! Cheers!
See you out there Steve!! Don't wait!
I have to say after listening to your closing thoughts, our thoughts are very similar as I live in the bush where the population is only a few hundred. I am not someone that can handle living in a city filled with concrete & metal with very little vegetation. I cut, pile & burn firewood for heat, enjoy camp fire & the wildlife that surrounds me.
Waht a beautiful ending to a new journey! 🙏💪❤️💡
Saw your rig on the Glenn this afternoon, hope the alcan treated you well
Yup made it! barely lol just wait for it;)
Excellent
There no place like HOME !! Amen 🤙😎
❤️ channel very interesting be safe..keep posting
🎉🎉 thanks for sharing your exciting adventures ❤❤
In the video you said that the distance between Seatle and Alaska is the same distance of Pacific ocean to Atlantic ocean. Next year you should go visite the East Coast of Canada/US since it would the same distance of your last two summer in the South/West US.
Happy New Year Timmy! I really enjoy your videos.
Happy New Year!
"chaos of civilization" in sleepy north Vancouver!
Welcome back to Canada! Isn't it ironic, Vancouver (BC) is in such an awesome setting but it's a nightmarish display of crowded living, traffic, homelessness and strife? Anyways... keep your eye on the prize: the beauty and wild freedom of the north! 👍😎🇨🇦⭐📷🌲❄
Nice to see you again Timmy, great work with how your work on the channel has developed. We are about ready for another drive north so this is fun to see.
Right on man, hope you're well!
Of course you can always take the cross-Gulf Alaska ferry route, but those voyages are rare, and expensive. Bellingham to Haines if I remember correctly.
Sorry, Bellingham to Seward I think.
Safe travels 🙏...and have a happy new year..🤙
Happy new year!
yah we got plenty of snow waiting for your machines when you get back, i think this year may set records state wide by march
yeyah!
Thanks!!!
sure thing!
Great video. Nice ending Timmy!!!
Thanks!
Love your 7.3
A+ video sir.
Last year I went the opposite way, I crossed from Canada into the States from Windsor ON to Detroit MI via the Ambassador Bridge crossing in a US rental car. I'm British by the way and was treated like a member of the Taliban, my colleague who was with me and is from Portland OR said he felt genuinely scared for his life. I think the staff at the crossing had either a bad day or a slow day and were just looking to piss someone off, it was not a nice experience!
Coming back to the States is ALWAYS more difficult and usually less friendly. Ironic since all the illegals are given carte blanche, which is French for "red carpet treatment".
$219.9 for diesel! 🤯 I was just celebrating my town going down to $4.19 holy cow..there's gotta be something wrong about that.
There's no place like home Toto!
Good shit! Ya im not lookin forward to ever hittin that border crossing lol.
Cross at Abottsford in stead of Vancouver!
great content..please make longer vlogs...sank you sank you veddy mush
your reflections at the end, surprised me. Wisdom is not always fun. Travel sure helps to acquire it!
✌️Happy new year

Totally agree with you, cities are for visiting. We live on the north shore of the Olympic Peninsula and usually can't wait to come home. Safe travels.
Best vid 👌
Thanks for sharing your journey
Like the thoughts at the end. Nice to feel at peace and have a place to call home. Have fun sledding this season mang!
I'll be 38 in a couple weeks.
I think getting older is causing me to have the same mindset as what you said in your voiceover.
lol yuup
I totally get it
Agree with you wholeheartedly about all the “space” being taken up in cities & small towns around the nation.
Only way to escape, it seems you already have.
I know what you mean about this population. We live on a sailboat in Florida, off the grid, but on a dock. I don't like to leave, love living here. We feel Safe here. Been doing this for almost 24 yrs. Most of it on anchor or mooring balls
No way I used to live down the street from rack and road!! I used to stop in there :) small world brotha
The controlling people have no problem flying around the world but want us to pay life savings for electric cars that can't go very far from home that we pay more tax if it's more nicely built. Keep the diesel rolling.
As far as those electric cars goes, we just seen down here in Oklahoma that the people with electric cars could not charge their cars when it was below freezing in electric car will not charge in like 22° but I sure can’t get in your gas, powered vehicle or your diesel powered vehicle, (depending on if you have a block heater or not) and go
@@dabsanyone3752 What are you talking about being unable to charge? We have plenty of EVs here in winter in Canada. 20% of the cars currently on the road in Norway are EVs.. can you specify what models of car won't charge?
@@carmodityHe likely meant the battery needs to heat up before taking in the charge when it’s very cold. Ideally we would have one of each type for different use...gas/electric but $$$$
@@marcpikas2859 The cars have heated and cooled battery trays for that exact reason. That's why they work outside of Oklahoma. I think he's perpetuating a myth.
Yup, don't get me started on electric vehicles lol
Just so you know, your channel is usually the last thing I watch before I crash for the night. I usually beige watch your videos. I dunno what it is about your content that's so addicting. lol
Very nice statement at the end of the video. Nice job Timmy. Love your videos. Love from Pakistan
Thanks:)
Well said at the end
Thanks Dave! appreciate the kind words and support:) Happy New Year!
I understand you Timmy , bout the hussle an Bussle of city after city , I live in a small town an it’s Cowpens S.C , I’m 55 yrs old an it use to be so quite here , every body new every body an now even my small corner of the earth has grown , I understood also that it has to to survive but so many homes an people have moved here in last 25 yrs town has gotten crowded use to have one caution light an now 3 red lights an several 4 way stops an stores galore , we still have many mom an pop stores but towns a growing , i sometime just pack up my lil Isuzu rodeo an go to moss lake in Shelby N.C during cold months here an there so I don’t have to camp under 50 campers not that I hate people but I like peace an serenity when I’m out , I understand your calmness an man keep on camping 🏕️ brother

Some tourists may think the ferry system is kept going out of nostalgia, but no. As you discovered, the ferry routes are there for a reason; they save time and money.
