i've been listening to those guys now for what... two decades, i was the tipical guy that just did not accept the newer albums, untill about a year ago i rolled through i the mask and actually liked it, then for the last year i've been hammering through the entire catalog up to the old albums and the amount of good stuff i simply denied to enjoy. and then they hit us with this album.. this is one of the best albums i've hard for years,strange as it sound i think the new line up actually saved the band, somehow they manage to capture all of the sounds of the in flames we loved, but then add some freshness on top of it. the riffage is the best for years
Exactly! I really love this album as one of my favorite albums in my life. It seems that they finally found a good group that enjoy playing together and this wont be the last great thing we've heard from this nunch :)
It's growing on me, definitely surpasses anything Sense of Purpose on forward. Right on par with Come Clarity, but not quite Jester Race to Clayman era YET. Still growing on me lol
Even though I liked the album right away, some of my favorite albums are the ones that took me time to learn to love them, so just keep listening to it! Also, I just have such a hard time when people dont like Sounds of a Playground Fading! It is so fantastic sounding and it has 3 of In Flames best songs in my opinion!

Personal opinion of mine, but I've never disliked an in flames album, and this one exceeded all of my expectations. Its such a celebration of all the bands history and sounds.
I'm not big on reaction videos, but I watched this entire thing, as a MASSIVE In Flames fan (my favorite band, I have all the albums, met them a bunch, own a ton of signed items, have/play Björn's signature guitar, etc). Your reaction is SPOT-ON. Also, you echoed so, so many points that popped up in my head while listening to this album, all the way down to thinking about how Soilwork has been utilizing more and more blastbeats on recent albums, haha. P.S. HUGE Mnemic and Raunchy fan here too, so you had me hooked from the intro. Great video!
I love this album can't stop listen to it, since it released it have been days I only listened to the album over and over and often every day I have atleast listened to it 1+ time. My personally favorite track is In The Dark.
Just staring to listen to your video. I love your consept of listening to the whole album and commenting. But also the often long introduction or "small talk" about other stuff. It is like coming over to a friend who have invited you to a listen to this new album. Can't have it without some small talk before starting listening. But now on to the rest of the video🙂
I'm glad you enjoy the intro parts! I can see how some people want to get straight to the reaction though, so my goal for this year is to have shorter intros. In this case though, since this is the first time I get to have a video about In Flames, I wanted to give a bit more context about my feelings towards them!
I think adding chris broderick definitely helped. Anders got his balls back lol. I love the fact i can listen to this straight through and not want to skip a song
You should definitely check out ‘Engel’ - blood of saints - and ‘Gardenian’ - Sindustries as it has In Flames guitarist who I’m sure was on the ‘Passenger’ cd 🤟🏻
Yes Battles is terrible! I saw an interview with Anders where he basically said that the whole album is what it is because the record label made them make changes to the songs. Yuk...
It's worth mentioning that songs from Battles are 10x better live. I honestly think from Siren Charms to Mask the biggest enemy was production. Wallflower, in My room, etc are so good live compared to the album.

I've been listening almost non-stop to this album came out. This is like hearing it again for the first time through new ears. Love it.
I love that this album almost got everything from their whole discography.
And as someone who loves all their album except Lunar and subtarrean, I think this is a perfect album.

My ranking of IF albums changes all the time. Siren Charms and I the Mask I love. But the first one I listened to was Clayman! Battles is terrible.

battles is a hard one, there are songs in there that should just not been let out, but there are some good ones and as always a ton of great riffs
