- What's up, collectors! I'm still a little under the weather, but I had to run out to a Barnes & Noble and see if today's new releases were in. I lucked out and was able to snag a copy of Pinocchio, The Albert Lamorisse set, and Blast of Silence. Here's a look at all three titles. Let me know what you think in the comments as always. Hope you enjoy the video!

Hi, DJ! Great video, but I mostly wanted to respond to tell you how much I enjoyed "Lost in Paris." After hearing you talk about it, I ordered it from our local library and watched it last night. Thank you so much for making me aware of it. And I had no idea the two leads were married in real life until I watched the bonus features, including their hilarious short, "Walking on the Wild Side." Now I have to buy the film for myself. Thanks again!
I am very interested in seeing Blast of Silence. I love Sean Phillips's art, and it seems like it would be up my alley.
Oh yeah, man. I hope you enjoy that one when you get a chance to see it. It was a nice change of pace for me from all the other Christmas movies I've been watching. Thanks so much for always watching and commenting by the way. I don't thank you enough for that. I really appreciate the support, man!
Ohhh, la la. I'm excited for the Pinocchio digipak. I can't wait to see it in 4k, and I know it's silly, but I love it when they do little pop-ups like the nose. 😂
Haha, I'm with you man. If they want us to pay boutique prices, the least they can do is get creative with the packaging. Hope you can get your hands on a copy soon. It's an awesome release!
Glad you are doing better and on the mend. I'm really interested in Pinocchio (too bad the inside is a plain color) and maybe The Red Balloon. Have to wait for a sale unfortunately.
If you haven't seen it, pick up the recent Criterion release "Dog Fight".... BEAUTIFUL FILM. If you can watch without reading the synopsis, worth doing. GORGEOUS acting by Lily Taylor and River Phoenix.
I'm most looking forward to the Lamorrise set.On my DVD copy of "The Red Balloon" it's paired with a film called "The Flight of the Red Balloon" made in 2008 with Juliette Binoche, which is feature-length,also set in Paris and is a great homage to the short.
Oh wow! I haven't seen that. I'll have to track down a copy. Sounds right up my alley. Thanks for sharing!
As promised thanks DJ! Looks like this sweet haul has cured any cold you might have had. 😊 Blast of Silence cover looks awesome!
Haha, yeah this was a nice little pick me up. And I agree, the Blast of Silence cover looks so good. Really glad I decided to grab that one. Thanks for watching!
I love your channel! Thanks for making it so fun to keep up with new releases!!
Thanks so much for the kind words, and welcome! Glad you've been enjoying the content. Are you a collector too?
Not sure where else it's going (if anywhere) but the Pinocchio exhibit that was at MoMA earlier this year was incredible. I paid for an annual membership just to see it over and over again. Some of the miniatures looked like they were made by actual ants
Ah man, that sounds amazing! I wish that was coming to Atlanta. I would love to see that.
Tão lindo!❤😊
just got my copies of your featured titles today.
Nice! Glad you were able to your hands on them. Which one is your favorite?
@FilmsByColor I think Pinocchio is stunning but The Albert Lamorisse set just edges it for me. Blast of Silence is impressive especially as the lead directs it.
Hope you're feeling better, DJ!
Thanks, man. I am. A little bitter of a lingering sore throat, but the other symptoms are pretty much cleared up. Hope you’re having a great week so far!
@@FilmsByColor We can always count on you. Hope you continue enjoying your Christmas watching in the meantime and have a lot to talk about when you're at 100%! It will be turbo time!
I'm waiting for my Blast of Silence edition! I must be an alien, but I think DelToro is a horrible director.
I’ve definitely felt that way about other movies and directors that everyone seems to love. You’re not alone on del Toro though, I know people who don’t care for his style either. Hope your copy of Blast of Silence arrives soon!
@@FilmsByColor You're right, DJ! The important thing is to keep the love for movies lit!
