@@Bigvwres Good question. I have a silver '04 that I got for $7,000. It now has 73,000 miles on it and had been well maintained. But mine is just the normally aspirated version and is on the standard shorter wheelbase.

Valentin Cristea I hav a guy who has a shop who isn’t afraid of them. I will give it to him and tell him just to take care of everything it needs. I drove it under 5k miles ..my inspection was exempt ..altho he did look over the car for me.
That was last month. It’s my spare car..I took it for a longer than usual drive ...on my way home it read on the dash “fault performance” something like that ..it wasn’t the air suspension light. When the car came to a stop at red lights it would give me a hard time getting back up to speed again. Like it was shifting with a delay. I’ve had that happen a few times in the past ..my mechanic just did something involving a leak in the transmission. I hope my transmission isn’t slipping. I love the car..I take really good care of it and in excellent condition.

I know your Jag in "restricted performance" sounds bad and feels bad - from the point of view of having no power. You should not panic and make a rash decision, such as getting rid of the car. If you have this message on your dashboard, you are almost certain to have the (CEL) Check Engine Light lit up on the dash. You should either have your mechanic read the check engine light with a handheld OBDII scanner, or you can even read it yourself if you have the time. There are many such scanners on the market, and a basic, entry level one should do the job. Once you scan it (the OBDII port is located under the dash on the driver side), you will probably get 1 or more faults, most likely something along the lines of "System too lean".
I have had many instances of the culprit being a dry rotted air intake hose, that feeds too much air into the system, not being accounted on by the Mass Air Flow meter (MAF). It could also be a bad MAF meter itself, that gives false readings to the engine management system in the car and confuses it. Neither one of these issues will cost you more than a couple of $100s in parts and labor.

I have same model silver and I haven’t done any major maintenance on it since 8 yes ago. I don’t drive it like that very clean and drives very well. It has 114k miles on it and what is the recommended maintenance I need to do to keep this vehicle in a pristine shape please

You and I both know that ;-) Unfortunately while most folks might have heard about a Vanden Plas jaguar, very few actually heard about a Super 8 or Super V8. I added the Vanden Plas in the title to attract more views. In fact, this is a (Supercharged) Vanden Plas (hence Super V8).

You have to ride in this car though. Seriously, these cars are truly problem free. Unless you count the air suspension with its occasional leaky air struts GGGRRRR.....

This is the top of the line of the XJ line. There was nothing more expensive in the Jaguar lineup that year.
