Hello again, I think you were spot on with all of your advice. I am a test and tune only karter (my local track does not race the engine i have, almost all rotax at my local track). Just one point is that if you have a kid in the sport such as myself the budget is multiple and they will never get to F1 stage unless you plan on a 100 to 400 k budget annually. This is a sport for fun so your first objective is to have fun, be safe and learn. Cheers!

    Great Content as always!!
Only thing I might add to this would be, if possible buy a kart (new or used) from a Dealer or Team. The support you get after the sale is invaluable. Not just in terms of parts, but setup advise for the chassis and engine, repair help when stuff breaks or wears out and possibly some driver coaching. As Oscar said, the Karting Community as a whole is pretty approachable and usually willing to help each other, but a Team or Dealer take it to another level. If you have Zero mechanical skill, this will be your best route to start, keep your frustration levels down and your entertainment values high.

Great job and some really good advice. I think your comments about budget are spot-on because karting is hands down the most affordable form of 4 wheeled motorsport that I know of but it can still get expensive if you don't know how to spend your dollars wisely (ie., spend it on the stuff that matters). Love the new intro, great work!!!

I wish Memphis had a local kart track or somewhere close, bc I would buy a kart in a heartbeat. Sadly, there’s nothing to within a 6hr drive, which is why all my karting adventures have been at my local Autobahn, and rental enduros that are worth the trip, like AMP, GoPro, etc.

Hi man, I love your videos. One question:
Can you push a turned off TaG kart (like the x30, etc... I mean centrifugal clutch types) to move it around? Or will it flood the carb or some other bad thing?
Thanks in advance, I know it's probably a stupid question but I don't have a kart stand. So far I move it while it's turned on always.

They have a system for that on their webpage that explains it. Couple things to be aware of too, K1 unless you are in a league, isn’t for racing against others on Arrive and Drive. It’s for best lap times against yourself, they have leagues and groups for actual racing with positions. Also they will track you as a driver and on your membership and the more you drive cleanly and show you can drive, they will up your speed. If you skid, bump, are unclean, hit the brake and gas at the same time, etc, they won’t speed you up. And also sometimes it just sucks but due to conditions or pack density, they just have to slow some guys down to keep it safe for the slower and newer drivers who may be dangerous in their driving and not even realize it.

The only thing keeping me from Karting is my work schedule. I want to kart and I can afford it. There is little to no karting where I'm at (Memphis area). Ask yourself why a company or business would want to give you money in exchange for putting their name on your kart or racing suit. You have to be able to offer them an audience that follows and supports you that is a good fit to buy their product or service. You have to help them make more money than it's costing them to sponsor you. Hope that helps!

1st off thanks for the video. While watching it I was searching other aspects of the regulations. I see the weight limits for I am assuming the cart and driver are less then what I weigh by about 10 pounds, so this is definitely not a fat mans sport. Ohh well! I guess I would not fit in a Io206 anyway so it is a moot point, I love to drive and always enjoyed competition! To fat to skydive and to fat to race carts...time to call Jenny! Kind of a bummer to be at a point in life you can afford stuff like this, but you let yourself get to fat to enjoy it. My choice to be fat so no one to blame but me! Again, thanks for the info!

Hello my Name is Ben and i am 13 years old. I have been wanting to go to DKC for a while but cant go on the adult karts because of age. I thought about the caddet karts but thought that it was not worth it because i have faster karts where I live. I live in houston and go to a kart track called speedsportz. The karts there go 45. witch is not as fast as the DK karts but still kinda fast. I have wanted to get a my own kart for a while but dont know what to get. I asked my parents if they would help me buy one and they said that if i could get a kart then they would pay for the track membership. So if i were to get a kart the bugget is very small right now I am painting curb addresses and have about 1200 dollors but i know i cant get a kart for that cheap i am still saving. My bugget is under 5 grand and that is a lot cause im a kid.
I would also want one that is easy to maintain cause i have no clue how to maintane these karts. Do you know of any good karts that sound good for me ? Also do you know of any websites for used karts that you know are reliable?
    Thank, You
