Enjoyed this one lads. Worked in quite a few council settings and the combo of incompetence and corruption was off the scale, esp when they were contracting out to dodgy private companies. What Lawrence said here made a lot of sense.

With 17000 deaths in the UK who have died from just Covid, with an average age of 82 which is 1.5 years higher than the average age of deaths in the UK, which is a stark difference to what we were lead to believe.
There will be 50,000 additional deaths with undiagnosed cancer with the lack of hospital appointments due to Covid with an average age in the mid thirties, when you align the average age of a COVID death of 82. It makes you realise just how misinformed we have been. The question here is why

I love Lawrence, I think he is genuine and I would vote for him for mayor should the position ever be available to him.
But despite the work he does for the homeless and addicts, I was disappointed with his attitude towards drug addiction. He was comparing people who have full blown heroin addictions to people who have a line of coke at a weekend.
Cocaine is an absolute monster, it's a different kind of monster but still a monster.
Cocaine left me homeless, without family, and stealing from my own mother. I tried to take my life numerous times because I just couldn't stop.
The words cocaine and recreation should never be allowed in the same sentence.

Hi Thomas, please don’t misunderstand what I stated, which was that I hate cocaine, it had hit my family and caused myself and family huge damage, what I am saying is that Smack was killing people far quicker than Cocaine, but in no way do I not understand how it has destroyed many families and Liverpool sadly is one of the main Cities from which it is distributed.

@@lawrencekenwright. Thanks for the reply. It was just when you mentioned recreation and cocaine I was like ouch and that resonated with me😂
It was recreational in the 051 and cream for the first few years pal, but there was nothing recreational about the 14 years that followed where I would be snorting underneath the duvet hiding from nobody, thinking the house was gunna fall down when the boiler came on 😂
As I say though, you’re a fantastic fella and you would, if we were as you say hypothetically speaking about a future mayor job get my vote.
6 years clean now and enjoying life so keep doing what you’re doing cause for all those people you’re looking out for there is a fantastic life out there to live free of drugs and alcohol

Terry Leahy has just gone to Morrison’s I think. I think someone like him, who is so experienced but knows the city well, and can rise about party politics and bring in change, whilst not getting involved in local power struggles would be perfect. There are a few people like Terry out there.
I went to school with Karen Caddick - brought up on County Road, Karen has been on the board at Morrison’s and is now on the board at Royal Sun Alliance. She has a real passion for the city, a cool business head, and really cares about people.

I just love their assents; they are like a tone of voice you get when you have had a drink and you are about to speak your mind; Its the accent that you have when can still make complete factual sense and you are in an aggressive argument and that accent scares the heck out of the person you are arguing with. I'm only 16 minutes into this excellent podcast and I've already shed tears of anger, cussed and beat up a few cushions!
As someone who has worked with homeless people and substance misusers for more than two decades, I have heard and seen more empathy, humanity and integrity from this man Lawrence Kenwright than the majority of 'professionals' that I've had the misfortune to work alongside for all those years!
Having worked in countless local authorities and charities up and down the country who are inept at best and completely corrupt and riddled with nepotism and criminality at worst, I have never encountered the depths and levels however of corruption, collusion etc etc at the devastating costs to vulnerable and ordinary people, as I have in Liverpool!
What Lawrence Kenwright did as far as the Council and criminal poliTRICKcians go, is embarrass them and expose their incompetent arrogance! And I'd best my last pound that he never set out to do that but simply wanted to show some humanity to those whom poliTRICKcians and services are MEANT to be helping!
I hope I get to shake his hand one day and say thank you for being one of the VERY few people with integrity and humanity that I have encountered in Liverpool.👊🏾😉

    Great Podcast.
Sadly, Liverpool will NEVER become a success.
For one, most Scousers simply don't have the education, priorities, talent or work ethic. For instance, if they have three hundred quid in their pocket, Liverpudlians run to the tattoo parlour to have their bodies tattood. That's where their priorities lie! I've lived in Singapore and if you have a tattoo in Singapore they consider you to be chavvish and vulgar. Just like Brits used to when this country was great.
Secondly, Liverpool is under the thumb of one scoundrel after another. The biggest of the lot is none other than Lawrence Kenwright. This jerk has borrowed more than £100 million from people to fund his glamorous lifestyle and for his vanity redevelopment projects. The reason not a single other person chose to redevelop the derelict buildings that Lawrence Kenwright did is because EVERY other developer knew they were completely unprofitable!
Lawrence Kenwright has failed to pay back a single cent of the money he has borrowed. He has gone Missing in Action and shamefully hides from his lenders and investors.
Hundreds of innocent people up and down the country have had their lives RUINED by Lawrence Kenwright not returning his loaned money to them. Many are pensioners who have lost their life savings to Lawrence Kenwright. They have been on the verge of suicide. All exclusively because of Lawrence Kenwright.
Google Lawrence Kenwright and his businesses - many in Administration for defaulting on his borrowings - for his very dirty dealings.

He has been very generous WITH OTHER PEOPLES' MONEY. I am one of many scammed investors who have lost most of my life savings via Signature.

@@Theoriginalbigbrillo I don't know what you think my name has to do with anything . Your comment is racist. Re survival, I happen to know that another investor has sadly taken their own life. I myself have a life limiting condition and may well not see out the recession.
