Figma is just a tool ,which enables to deliver good deliverable but UX is not Figma.

So, for clients and junior people, some figma skills = UX badge.
I believe that is good. It will force designers to evolve and try and always be better. Till now, a lot of people were getting complacent and slow, now the space has changed for the better :)
Figma is one of the most recent examples of - Either you die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

True too! However, I just wish tools gave us the ability to train our own AI and run them locally on our systems (even if they are less powerful)

Wow, this is by far the best ever update in Figma! Hope they will be able to lower the price for newbies and individuals too.
I believe they will! Most companies want to capture a larger market, and with competition like Penpot and creatie, maybe we might see more diverse plans.

Those grey "boxes" are called input field and they have been around since UI started. Its only in some software the last 10 years they went away. So if you have been working with compurer more than the last 10 years you should not be surprised by them. I am torn. Part of me like minimalistic, part of me like them as it makes it easer to spot where to scrub and click

People who have been following this channel for a year knew Figma Ai is coming but didn’t expect in such drastic and major UI changed way. A Game Changer For Sure, but yeah those grey boxes are very obtrusive and it’s kinda annoying knowing even “multi edit”does work properly all the time wonder how many of these functions will actually work properly for that Ultimate Flow state!

They are rolling it slowly to all users (first to beta testers and users). So expect say a month or 2 before everyone has it.

@@HCforLife1 I mean they can upskill now, no option. But AI won't completely replace UX designers as of yet
it was always tough to become a creative. However, AI will change the quality of designers people will expect. I feel it is a good shift from people looking at designers as a tool technician - to a more serious business focused role.
Not everyone will get it first, only select users will see it right now. Even I have not received the updates yet. We might need to wait for a few weeks.

I have question in mind is this new figma ai feature is in free plan or is it paid.
Right now even starter plans will soon get access to it. So both paid and free users can enjoy. However, I believe in a year or so some of these AI features will be reserved for paying users.

Is it just me or does figma feel unintuitive to others too? I doesn’t make sense why delete/undo/redo/duplicate aren’t in the right click shortcuts? When you start designing these are the most used commands!
More people are coming forward and are pointing this out. Hopefully Figma makes these tiny updates in the coming future.
It would be better if the AI could generate or suggest possible designs using our own Design System than randomly throwing different components. Yeah, This is too much for now! Is this update out already!?! #punitchawla I think figma tried the Bentobox design for grouping attributes.
They are going to allow you to use custom design systems in the future according to their own blog. The updates are being slowly launched to select users first, then will be a more public rollouts soon. Yes, the Bento style is very prominent, however the boxy design in small controls can be taxing on our thinking.

Coming soon, since it is still in Beta and they might launch to everyone in 3-4 weeks.
Looking at sales side, the AI will reduce number of designers working for an org, means number of less Figma subscription from a company (which could increase pricing). AI is direct attack on intellectual rights of creative patterns. and it would directly kill jobs of UI UX designers (since this tool is becoming more about developers than designers)
Let's see what the future holds for us. As designers, we can always leverage powerful tools and tech to become more competent and give more value to companies. So both can happen
@@PunitChawla yeah! Good perspective. Even era of AI, I truly wish to see this space to be competitive like before.
I just don’t know if AI is really designing anything but weather searching a library of premade kits and pasting things together. Designers do a lot more than that. AI seems like it’s more of an interface and search engine for a design tool but not an actual designer. It’s like saying web flow will take the jobs of developers. Side note: I still like sketch better.
@@calinola7957 depends on how much these tools grows and uses AI, I see AI as process of mixing ideas to generate new things in speed.
At this point without any regulation on AI, I think everything on public domain is free to steal for training AI models.
Figma AI training is turned “on by default”. That means Figma can access all your files to train its AI. No, Figma, default should be set to OFF.

If all the work in Figma is to be done using AI tools, then what will happen to this designer in the future, is his job safe or not, and what is the designer's role in this new update. AI will not replace UX Designers but UX Designers who use AI will replace those who don't
Just focus on your skills as a UX designer, do not worry about AI taking over your job in future, however advanced AI will get in tools like Figma, just remember it will always be used by a Designer, people who do not know anything about design won't be able to run that efficiently isn't it ?

Most of my friends are afraid that UI designers or Visual designers will be jobless or loose their job. What do you guys think?? My believe is even if someone is a visual designer but has really good creativity he is in the safe zone because 99.99% time client says "Maza nahi aya, make something which is u know very cool and makes customers go ufffff and waaoooo". I am really curious how ai will interpret these prompts? or will it simply tell " As an ai language model I don't understand human emotions like waoooo or maza"... Let me know your thoughts. I don't have much experience in this field till now but this is what I think.

If that was the case, then graphic designers would have been the first ones to be jobless cos of Adobe firefly. This is only a tool that will help make our jobs easier, it's not gonna replace anyone.
I agree with @pujadhakan2400 on this one. Canva didn't replace graphic designers, webflow/framer didn't replace web designers, ChatGPT didn't replace content writers. I feel careers and fields will evolve to fit the future instead of replace them. Designers will just have to level up faster and need to change/evolve over time. Such transitions happen in every industry. Don;t worry we will all grow together :D

New look of figma looks very amateur to me.
Some aspects look very clean and minimal, some other aspects are very boxy and slow for me.
