Rob always finds a way to mention Jonathan Hickman's Avengers/New Avengers/Secret Wars.
And I don't blame him. His video on that story is one of my favorite stories ever.
Hickmans Fantastic Four, Avengers and Xmen (which has now been ruined since hickman finished, as soon as he was done, the twitter warriors took over) are literally the only thing not cringe enducing that marvels done in years. Im being hyperbolic, but you get my sentiment, other than that stuff its hard to find genuinely good stuff

Hickman can turn shite into Gold when you seal the vault and let time do it work. The Vault is a amp comparsion but holy moly, he should of been firing on all cylinders if it going to end all slap stick bad.
Imagine being an average bad guy and fighting Kamala khan and when u go to get sentenced you get everything you did plus assault on a minor🤣🤣
Given Marvel's interest in appealing to the teenage audience as suggested by the publishing of series like Strange Academy and the casting of young actors in key roles like Kate Bishop, Kamala Khan, Riri Williams and Cassie Lang you can see that the company is deliberately setting the stage for something like Young Avengers or Champions. If we see the Maximoff brothers show up as teenagers in Multiverse of Madness then it kinda leans things towards Young Avengers.
you should cover Sam Alexander Nova, the first i heard of him was in the Ultimate Spider-Man carton, he was annoying in there but he seems cool from the champions comics i’ve read
I agree. That wasn’t my first introduction into Nova. So when I first subscribed to this channel and found out he was the more recent nova, I didn’t know what tf was going on lol. Kinda goes to show how informative this channel has been for me since 2015 or so.

Got to say I'm pretty disappointed about the MCU abandoning the Inhumans element of Kamala Kahn. I know the TV show was an abomination but *Agents of Shield* actually made the Inhumans aspect interesting and compelling. Regardless, the trailer looks promising and I can't wait to watch it 🤩🤩
They made her worse, she was never interesting but this is worse. She has fake green lantern powers now? Why does she have sue richards force field powers too? This is bad. Her first couple issues were okay, they werent offensively bad but this new stuff is. "brown girls dont save the world" uhhhh does marvel studios writers read marvel or dc comics at all? Theres alot of brown people saving the world
I don't really blame them to be honest. Her powers are too similar to Mr. Fantastic so the casual viewer would be confused. It sucks, but it can't be helped.

ONE BIG one would be that shes supposed to be an inhuman, her origin in the first 3 issues isnt bad, but hey guess what? None of thats in this show cuz they changed it all.

I've already heard from someone who edits the show that they're changing her powers. Instead of the mist she is going to get her powers from bands. The only two Mar-Vell related ones I think of are Quantum bands or Nega bands.

Her power comes from inside the mutation in her genes, a mystical bangle helps to unlock the gene and access her powers (just finished watching it) which is not to far off other mutants having stress or some strong emotion help unlock their mutant gene.

@@justincarter1217 Theres nothing wrong with changing of mantles, the problem is how they do it. Miles Morales has zero personality, Miles Morales behaves exactly like peter parker dude. You like the IDEA of it, theres no way you like it in function Let me give you a fantastic example of a changing of the mantle, WALLY WEST. THAT is how to pass the torch on, wally oozes personality. Compare that to miles and peter, its laughable.

There were changes to Negasonic Teenage Warhead for the Deadpool movies...and it turned out just fine. The changes to Kamala--wait and see. So far I see her core personality and *that* is the most important thing here.

Well, to be fair, how many people really knew of it remembered the character of Nega Sonic Teenage Warhead? Truthfully, I had forgotten until the movie came out.
I think good hero design benefits from how the power interplay with their identity and personality a bit. For Kamala, before they made her more mellow and glum, she was a happy go luck novice. And the goofy embiggening was a visually funny power. It was also a clumsy imprecise ability just like how a newbie attempts to be a hero

NTW was a two panel character in the comics, she had one line and no discernable power/skills other than a dream; Unlike "Ms Marvel" who was introduced in Captain Marvel's comic, hyped by Marvel and given her own comic, which failed.

Black Panther and Captain Marvel are my faves
Carol Danvers as Ms Marvel had a fun type personality, what they did remove when they make her into Captain Marvel, but now some writers r trying 2 merge the 2 things into 1 aka being Captain Marvel with the fun type personality. I liked Kamala Khan, but some writers do keep miss writing her, so do understand the dislike some ppl have. The All New All Different was mostly blergh. The Champions run was awesome run. Raxxon is a mix of youtube/google, facebook and twitter with a dash of Amazon. The Outlaw storyline is a bit part of Devil's reign event, wonder if both will wrap up around same time.
How I’ve seen it I never hate a character I hate how a character is written. I loved KK in the beginning but her writing really fell quickly after. I did hear she was funny in the game but didn’t play cause that game was pretty bad. All of that being said the show looks like it’ll be more like her first comics and be awesome.

Hey Rob, are you ever going to finish The Walking Dead comic series since they have officially ended? I've been waiting, but i'll read the comics instead if you wont lol
All these people crying about her powers are hilarious. Not only are they not that interesting to begin with, we have already have multiple characters who fill similar roles. Antman and Wasp are able to alter their size. And I'm pretty sure we will be getting Reed Richards at some point. Instead we have her using the Quantum Bands (I'm about 99.99% positive) which is infinitely more interesting and if you look around the 1:20 mark I believe on the trailer she does either stretch her arm or used a construct to imitate that action. Anyway, trailer was great and actually made me interested to watch a character I don't really care about.
Yeah, those are definitely the Quantum Bands. Although I'm wondering if they'll call them Nega Bands and tie in Mar-Vell to the upcoming Marvels movie.
So.. what's been happening with Carol Danvers in the MCU since Avengers Endgame?
i don’t care that they changed her powers cuz i don’t care about the character in either the game or the comics
i heard they changed her abilities to not differentiate her from Reed Richards but so that when the character finally comes into the MCU, the on screen polymorph ability will seem that much more original and unique and unseen by MCU exclusive fans (marvel fans that only watch films and don’t read comics)
i personally find that to be a silly reason tbh, if they wanted Reed to be the first character in the MCU with that type of ability they should’ve just done next gen characters AFTER introducing the original character. For example, doing a Riri Williams/Ironheart series AFTER writing off Tony Stark is literally the best way to do it. Same for Sam Wilson becoming Cap after Cap retires/goes off the grid, it’s the best way to introduce a new character carrying the or similar name/mantle because by that point you’ve already seen all you need to see from the original character and now it’s time for the next generation to take over, it’s life
but that’s my small rant or whatever lol, the show looks like a fun coming of age story, gave me SM homecoming vibes, im not super excited for it but it looks like a fun watch, hoping the MCU can make me like the character
Your rant is dumb though. It’s not Marvels fault they didn’t get the rights back until recently. They’re setting up a Young Avengers team so they need to introduce Kamala now.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I noticed there was no hint about the Inhumans during the trailer. For some people that is probably fine, being under the mistaken belief that they are a substitute X-Men. But I have always considered the Inhumans to be a significant part of the Marvel Universe, dating back decades before Fox acquired the movie rights to the X-Men.⬅️
One minor point -- "Miss" is the old term, pronounced as it looks. "Ms.", however, is pronounced "Mizz", and emphasizes that it is none of your business if a given woman has been married or not, just like it does not matter with "Mr.".⬅️

Claiming that Ms. Marvel’s changes will somehow devalue her is laughable, especially since she’s never had a bad comic to date. And was the one part of the Avengers game people had few complaints about.
