  • As overall survival in myeloma continues to increase, there is an opportunity to improve outcomes further with nutrition and lifestyle interventions and this can no longer be ignored. In this IMF Living Well With Myeloma Webinar, Dr. Shah will discuss the scientific evidence behind dietary guidance for cancer and myeloma - epidemiologic studies and clinical trials such as the NUTRIVENTION trials through which diet may affect cancer via the microbiome, metabolism, and the immune system. The talk will conclude with some practical tips and suggestions to improve dietary habits.

Details of nutrition should be made clear. I am a long time vegetarian with myeloma and of course look forward to concise info in relation to the matter, as one loses focus with long long programmes.

It would be very helpful if the food chart at 11:50 was enlarged so I could see and read the types of food recommended. Also Dexamethazone greatly increases my appetite and it is difficult to stick to a diet. I eat fruit and chicken and some vegetables. I have gained about 45-50 lbs over 7 years of treatment, which is too much. I'm only 4'11".
