Wishing you moments of awe and wonder as you explore the vast tapestry of nature's wonders, each discovery a reminder of the boundless beauty and diversity that surrounds us
It's certainly a novel shelter approach, although getting up to relief yourself in the middle of the night might be a challenge (unless you just "dump" it overboard). I don't think it would be very practical for a single-night camp, though.
Why was my first question. After a few seconds I thought what an unnecessary question. I found through your work how limiting questions are. You went beyond conventional thought and built something we all want to spend time in but refuse to invest the time in. The meal, tools and utensils were beautiful. Thanks for a personal lesson.
There is nothing more pleasant than when someone with a personality like you accompanies us with impressive words. Thank you for your very, very beautiful comment.🤩🤩🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
The only way you're going to feel comfortable doing something that works for you is by trial and error. Learning what works for you is the only thing that matters. Great job.
I love hammocks and this is right up (pun intended) my alley. I am curious on the knots you used on the ropes tied around the trees. Thanks so much for sharing.
For the first coupke of minutes, it looked like you were weaving a web to catch a sasquatch for dinner. When you kept climbing higher, though, it seemed more like you you trying to make sure you were so far up there that he couldn't goose you while you were sleeping, even with a running jump. If approached by a mountain lion while hiking to your campsite, just roll that huge ball of rope at the cat. It will chase and play with the yarn instead of you.
I still would have used another piece of wood to baton instead of the axe. Heck I would've still used the axe. Either way you were out there having fun, stay safe!
Kinda tough to have a campfire and enjoy from your tent. I bet its cool being high like that. Novel idea. Give me a report after first stormy night. C y rious to kn ok w how it holds up to wind.
Found this to be ridiculous. Who carries that amount of rope? And once cut it becomes somewhat useless . The whole concept seems a bit weak. Winds, heavy rain, heavy snow, lack of heat , etc.
. He's not trying to sell it to you as a good or improved or better idea than anything else. Ever consider he just uses this method for no other reason other than he finds it interesting and thinks it's fun? Probably, the whole thinking thing has never worked well for you, huh?Now go sit down.
@@MasoudInNature Submitted respectfully, your safety is your own concern but here are a few things that I would address. Invest in better rope. While I agree using what is to hand is likley better than sleeping with bears, there is no point taking risks in demonstration. Forgive me if I'm wrong but it appears to be a fairly thin natural fibre rope. There are a few factors acting on this rope, firstly using it in this configuration actually puts a lot of leverage onto the rope ( see rigging bridle calcs for info) plus the knots weaken the rope. Different knots to different degrees but I'm guessing from the slackness of the lines that an afternoon spent practicing knot's wouldn't go amiss. The third factor is just simple abrasion, you are standing, moving and working on these lines. All of this is mitigated by a stronger rope. Something else you may want to consider is the consequences of a snapped line at height. If the lowest line snaps, probably not so bad. As you gain height though you now have lines underneath you, which if the line you are on snaps, won't be enough to catch you with the momentum you have now gained. It will be enough however to catch your feet as you fall and ensure your head/upper body is the first part to land. A good rope will serve you very well, don't take risks you don't have to. Thats my 2p
In the forest we always protect ourselves from possible dangers. Wild animals in the forest are a danger to all of us and this height from the ground is for our safety.🙏🙏🙏

This trick is only good for security in the forest, that too for one night

And as far as the knots…?
Well, if I ever find myself stranded in a forest with 400 miles of rope and acquire squirrel genetics, I'll be sure and do this.
This is just an idea
Interesting setup. Just don't forget when you wake up that you are pretty high in the tree and don't try to step out... Thumbs Up!

Not everything on the forest floor can climb trees. Snakes, Coyotes, etc. All kinds of creepy crawlies that can screw up your night too on the ground.
Yes🙂👍
That's a ridiculous amount of work for a nites sleep.

My shelter requires just ONE line and takes less than 5 minutes to build.

Yes, if you look at it from this point of view, it is a bit annoying😏
wont you be wet from the rain water dripping down the string of the hammock
Maybe my feet get a little wet, but overall it's fine
Using a truckers hitch would get these ropes as tight as banjo strings.
