Your video skills are getting really excellent, Michael! That opening shot from the airport monorail- woo hoo! I have not been on Holland America yet, so I'm very interested to see and hear your impressions of them. I was in Seattle at the beginning of the month and spent a couple of hours at Pike Place. I was told by a tour guide that the long lines at the Starbuck's are especially due to there being merchandise you can only buy there and at no other Starbuck's. It is a beautiful, classic ship! Michael! I’m really looking forward to watching this! My first cruise ever was on the Eurodam as we went from Italy to France, Spain, Portugal, then ended in Dover. Loved the ship, loved the food! Really looking forward to this! 😊

Finally! Actual travel day! Love it. Please slow the travel day a bit next time… excited to watch, we cannot decide what line to sail Alaska and Seattle or Vancouver embarkation port.

Isn't the Inside Passage technically between BC and Vancouver Island or the east side of Vancouver Island. This is the route for most cruise ships embarking from Vancouver BC. From Seattle, the travel north and south bound is west of Vancouver Island.
Ooooo we parked next to that one in Sitka when we went a couple weeks ago on the Quantum of the Seas RCL looks really nice I’m sad we didn’t get to public market place , oh well maybe next time , hope your trip was as beautiful as ours , the weather was really good to us ❤fromTX
Hi Michael, love your blog about the Alaska cruise. Looking forward seeing some stunning landscapes. I'm from The Netherlands and the game with de discs which you have to slide into 4 gates is called "sjoelen". It's a Dutch game. My parents have it as well.
With DCL stereotypically being thought of as for kids and Holland America for seniors, a lot of people would be surprised at how much they have in common - dark-hulled ships that pay homage to maritime tradition, great food that doesn't go too heavy on specialty dining, sophisticated areas for adult relaxation... In other words, they're actually quite similar. And more importantly, I think they're both wonderful, accessible cruise experiences. Looking forward to this vlog series!
@@thefamouseugenekrabs It is an older ship, but we loved it, the crew was great, the cabin was nice. The food was good, the entertainment really good. It could use some updates, such as carpet, but we really enjoyed it overall.

Hi - new subscriber here - I have questions. When you were at Pike Place Market where was your luggage? (did you drop it off at Pier 91?) Did you stay at a hotel the day before? How did you get from the Market to the ship? (was that an Uber?) We have our flight and cruise booked, it's all the little details that I'm trying to figure out. I like that I feel like I am discovering stuff with you. I love that you're talking about the temperatures you are feeling. I'm in the process of choosing clothes and this is helping!
Michael, in your opening montage --- was that shot of your shuttle pass taken at the airport or was it at a hotel? Just kinda curious. Looked like you were standing in some sort of pedestrian overpass. We did Alaska with NCL last year, it was a great trip,but may try a different line if we go back.

I've only done one cruise and it was Alaska. Most beautiful & verdant place on Earth.

Seattle looks cool!
We cruised to Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway.. best cruise ever. The Fjords were amazing.. The whale fins breaching, the towns, all breath taking..

You're with an older crowd but Holland America was one of the original two to do Alaska in depth so you chose a great cruise line for Alaska.
Eurodam is a great ship, went on it to Alaska in August, it was a super great vacation. BB King band was awesome.
