- This Mud House, erected in the middle of Greater Noida, tells the tale of the architect and her journeys with mud construction in her one-of-a-kind house as well as the workplace. This serene residence, amidst the city's concrete giants and hustle-bustle, mysteriously makes one feel at ease, thanks to the inwardly opening courtyard and garden.
The house, which was meticulously put together over the course of a year, is a building for experiments, the full potential of mud, and construction skills. The essence of it is an amalgamation of structure, earthy finishes, sustainable construction, and an integrated creation of contemporary and traditional techniques.
Entering the Mud showcase house is like getting transported to a completely different atmosphere. The earthy sensation on one's feet, the soothing lime plaster on the walls, and more elements like the dreamy diffused light from the bamboo shading in the courtyard help one feel at peace. Built on a site enclosed by the dramatic Noida, the house stands out from the chaotic landscape with its anchored yet diversified material palette.

This house is an example of what a sensitive, smart lady can accomplish.
People are too obsessed about carpet space or rental income. They build a house, not a home. This is a home. Kudos Miss.
I feel at peace just by looking at the video of this house. Living in it must be so amazing and calming to the senses. This girl has done an amazing job in making such beautiful abode. I wish I'll be able to do something similar in the next few years.

This is amazing work Shreya.. Just goes on to show that it is possible to build sustainable luxurious homes in cities too... That mud, lime, stone all come together to mean luxury, sustainability, ambient temperatures, low electricity bills... What's not to love in mud!!

How much has it cost,? It would be informative to get the sense on adding a basic comparison of a normal brick cement house to the Earthy home like this. That shall motivate lot of people to pick up their choice of feel good home that's friendly & cost effective!

Greater Noida doesn't have G+4. My understanding is, one can construct only Stilt+3 floors or 2.5 floor if constructing on the government provided layout.

Everything id good but is mud house strong. Places like delhi and noida is prone to earthquake. Can it withstand it? Can we have more than 2 floors in mud house. Can we install solar pannels

with ventilation how do you cool it in 45C temperature? They should have shown inside house with proper lighting at night
Mud walls in intself has thermal mass which helps us in reducing the temperature 7-10 degrees less plus lime plaster finish also add a lot of cooling effect.

What about the roof ? Problem is if we build a rcc lintel it defies the whole philosophy. My concern is how to manage that. Wood, mostly used for roofing is very expensive. So how to go about that ?
One can minize the use of cement through filler slabs. Alternatively, it could be a stone roof with framing. It may be difficult to attain approvals from municipal authorities in cities for alternative construction practices though, but there are definitely innovations and hybrid approaches that we can take.

@@Buildofy I was going for the 4000 rs anuualy plan but during filling up the form I got stuck in the account setup section. There is a space for mentioning the city I am from so I did fill that with pin code after that but when I pressed next it is saying I have to mention the region and the country too and clearly there is no space provided to fill that up.i tried filling the whole thing in the same space but it didn't do. So please rectify your registration process I think there is some update required or it bug you have to fix.pls

it's nice, but what do you do about mosquitoes?
I observed that they have placed nets on the smaller ventilator window openings. I am guessing for the windows also they probably have either double windows with one being solid and other being net, or something along those lines
@@shreyaseethakral and about the courtyard, the truth is it's impossible to have an airy breathable house like this without infestation of mosquito. No matter how much we dream of it atleast not here in Delhi ncr, up Bihar belt.
Sleep can be good with mosquito nets but without the use of chemicals it's just not possible to sit and work in open to air houses

It will not survive Bangalore rain and cyclones.
Bangalore actually has a higher number of architects who build with earth and alternative construction technologies. Bangalore architecture would be adapted to Bangalore weather with chhajjas, overhanging roof, verandah etc. Some well known firms are: Mrinmayee - Consultants, Biome, Made in Earth etc.
