In this video, I took my brand new (less than 140 miles) Bronco Sport to one of the most challenging off-road trail systems in the state: Uwharrie trail system near Troy, NC. I set out to test its capabilities in completely stock form and I have to say it was very impressive. The Bronco took on everything I threw at it with ease. The only drawback was the lack of ground clearance. In the next video we will come back with an HRG 1.5” lift kit and bigger tires to see if it can do even better. We may even attempt some of the big boy trails!

Then why was I able to conquer Loch Lomond trail, Kingston Peak, Red Hill Rd, Yankee Hill, etc. in my Bronco Sport Badlands if it wasn't meant for it. You do realize the Bronco Sport Badlands was torture tested on Hell's Revenge, right? Lol. The BS Badlands and FE are actually more off-road capable than a full-sized Bronco in the Base, Big Bend, and Outerbanks trims without the Sasquatch Package.

@@hrg_tv Hey, brother I am just checking with you that the 1.25" lift from HRG Engineering that shows up in a Google search is legit, is your company, and that it has been properly tested for the Badlands?

Awesome video man! Regarding the piece that ripped underneath, its supposedly for sound deadening. I also own the Badlands w/badlands package, and wheeled it on some pretty rough terrain in Colorado and it ripped in the exact same spot. I ended up cutting the piece off. Going to be replacing the whole thing with a nice light metal that'll act as an extra bash plate cuz why not?! Also was equally impressed (and everyone else on the trail) at its ability to power through the whole thing bone stock with "street" tires and no lift. Cant wait to get some extra clearance and better tires! If you find yourself up in Colorado hit me up and lets do some wheeln'!!

great video. These things are quite a bit more capable than people want to give them credit for. I run mine in local access trails and on some ATV hills and trails and it handles things fine ...in stock form with only the Pirelli AT tires. I did drop it in a 2 foot hole and tear up the front plastic bumper a bit but that was through driver stupidity, the Badlands walked right out of the hole and I continued my adventure. I will eventually put a lift on it but for now Im going to run the max tire I can get on it once I wear through the Pirellis (which were fantastic in snow btw). I also noticed the flex on the hatch, but now I just don't open it when flexed. I think people definitely need to be aware of limitations, like clearance. But if you play smart these things will get you into a lot of cool places, places that I couldn't go in the Flex Limited I traded on it.
One thing I definitely don't like is that area in the rear wheel well, where there is the little wind deflector thing, that holds mud and gravel...that and the felt wheel well liners. I know theyre for noise reduction but Id rather listen to road noise than try to clean those things haha. Besides, I put a glass pack muffler in place of the resonator and stock muffler and now I don't hear road noise anyway 😂

They have skid plates underneath. The ripped thing is sound dampener fuzzy stuff that many take off anyway to keep animals from nesting in them. The badlands has 8.8 inches if you get the 235 upgraded tires. You can fit 245 on the stock and gain more. With the 1.5 lift you can really ramp the tires up.

    Lift it! Lift it!
People seem to be impressed with this little Bronco. I want to see a lift installation video and a review of the possible added benefits of a suspension lift.
BTW arenʻt there coin op carwashes in your area? Or do they frown on off roaders using the carwashes on the way home?
We do have a BS Badlands on order and we are kind of anticipating itsʻ arrival, soon I hope.

The Badlands has a locking rear differential and sophisticated traction control system that allows it to punch way above its weight. Without these systems it would be more or less useless on this type of terrain.

As a former Element owner and a current Badlands owner. The two feel remarkably similar to each other when sitting in it, my wife and brother also said the same thing when they first sat in the Bronco Sport. I wish the element was this capable, but it isn't.
