Snord, that is a big name in the Lore.
He founded and runs the mech company "Snord's Irregulars" and takes pride in doing things fun and outside the Box.
His Daughter is also a mech-pilot and known for being a big music-lover. Her Mech is a Highlander named "Heavy Metal".
There is a LOT more to say about them, but thats spoilers.
I love Battletech! Alpha Strike it fun also especially if you use the optional rule for damage. Glad to see you getting into it.
Yeah the variable damage seems more interesting to me.
@@FliksTabletopGaming It makes light mechs more viable also.
Always enjoy watching these, cool to see you doing them. :)
The original version of Monsterpocalypse was blind purchase outside the starter boxes. It was marketed as a 'collectable' miniature game, and the models were all pre-painted.
These Mechwarrior minis seem much better quality than those were.
I love battletech, and in particular alpha strike. You might want to also look into the Aces solo play version of alpha strike. It's still in the beta, but for straight up fight to the death games it works pretty well.
I’ve been looking into a bit while also learning Alpha Strike hopefully to eventually see some on the channel.
The video feels so cozy for some reason
Maybe I'm just cheap but as much as I love the concept of BT, and having last played in the early 90's with paper materials (mech counters) all the way, these things seem prohibitively expensive. I just can't justify dropping hundreds of dollars just to get a decent set of maps and mechs.
Great video, well done. I really enjoyed the way you structured it and didn't fiddle fart around to draw it out.
EDIT: I misunderstood the cost. I thought you said 60 pounds each and you said 6. Very reasonable. Maybe I should get back in? lol
Given that 4-5 models is good enough to have a nice fight in BT or Alpha Strike it's an OK investment, you hardly get a single box of GW models for the same price.
Not a fan Orion either. Part of that is how in mw5 those MASSIVE arm guns are only Medium Lasers.....It just feels so wrong. Kinda like if a machinegun barrel on a locust was an AC10...
I remember how the Orion in Mechwarrior 3 had an LRM20 on its left arm, like a big boxing glove 😄
The Alpha Strike starter box is fantastic quality. It comes with 13 minis.
I’m going to pick it up for sure.
Orion ON1-K, or I just call it the oink
I love battletech 👍 from Indonesia 🇮🇩
