Who gets our hard-earned money? What do we hope they'll do with it?
Remittances are vital to the global economy. Around USD840 billion was sent home worldwide in 2023, and for some countries these remittances make up as much as 6% of their GDP.
But we don't do it for the statistics. We do it for the people at the other end, for the ones we know and love, for their needs and goals and wishes. We even do it for ourselves.
