I'm probably too late for this, but I just want a flight back home to New York after being trapped in Myanmar for 3 years and having to live in hiding from the military for 2 years.
Basically I was working here for a short contract and was in a warehouse accident just before COVID really spread. My business visa expired in May of 2020 (3 years ago) because I was unable to work after reconstructive surgery and a month in the hospital, and in order to extend a business visa you need a company sponsor. Well I had a falling out with my former employer because they would only pay a small part of my medical bills despite the accident being their fault - I fell through some rotting floorboards of their warehouse while working and onto a metal machine below, shattering my upper arm into 6 pieces and injuring my back. So due to our falling out, I couldn't get sponsorship from them and I couldn't get a new job because I was bed ridden.
The visa expiring wouldn't have been a big deal, immigration couldn't help me, but the government put it a notice saying that anyone who overstayed because of the border shutdowns and airport closures for COVID would not face penalties. That was the civilian government.
In February 2021, the military took power in a coup, and by the time they reopened the borders it was clear they were jailing foreigners for overstayed visas. They also arrested at least I've foreigner for not having a recently updated residency form, which I have not been able to get since my visa expired. So basically if I try to leave it I'm caught here in looking at a 5+ year prison sentence. Most foreign prisoners have picky served a few months or weeks of these sentences (in terrible conditions) before being released early when the junta needs to make themselves look better. The whole thing is just a political game.
I could possibly smuggle myself into Thailand without external help, either by a multi-day fishing boat, or over land with the help of pro-democracy rebels, but then I have a problem with the Thai officials for having illegally entered into Thailand (though a much smaller problem).
Like I said, in guessing I probably missed this anyway, but if you guys have any connections into Thailand who could smooth things out for me if I could manage to get myself that far, that would be amazing. I want to see my Nana one more time while she's still alive and somewhat coherent, and I want to meet my first niece and see the rest of my family, and not be living in fear 24/7.
I know it's a longshot, but I figure you guys must have extra good fixers all over the world, and you made the offer to fly someone to their dream destination, and right now my dream destination is home, despite even having a fianceé here who has been great at keeping me held together, but I could be more help for her just working part time a little in the US and sending her money, since the dollar goes so far here, and then I can come back here when the rebels win the revolution in maybe another year or two. I can't live like this never leaving my apartment and not knowing when I'll ever see my family again.
The US Embassy has not been helpful at all and just told me my only option was to turn myself in to immigration, as if this was my fault.

This episode feels like you are just making a joke of the stuggle that millions , if not billions of people go through to access something that a few take for granted and don't even have to think about. You had a problem so you just threw $150,000 plus at it, a sum which is more out of reach than heaven for most people. There are really no words to express the injustice of this passport scam we are facing in the world right now. We are all humans, born equal but as soon as we enter this world now, we get our rights taken away from us. Most frustrating of all is that immigration is a new and horrible invention, humans have travelled for millenia and immigration was not necesary. Freedom to travel is a human right as long as you can move you should not be restricted from going anywhere. The passport and visa issue is a matter of life and death for a lot of people nowadays and it is one of the biggest forms of segregration still going on in the world. One rule for one set of people and another rule for others. There is no logic (despite how they try to convince you) to how countries decide their entry scam, it is just a rip off and there is no independent adjudicator to turn to. People lose life savings on immigration matters and families become destitiute not to mention the heartbreak and all manner of mental illness that families go through due to years of separation and some can even lose touch forever. The biggest lie they like to tell is that they need to keep their resources for theirr own citizens that is why they need to keep others out and its ususally the countries who were plundering nations, who now need to protect their resources for their own citizens. Then if you finally manage to jump all the hurdles, risk life and limb to travel, they ask you why can't you stay in your own country? Well I could ask you the same question, why didn't you stay in your own country from the start? Why do you get to decide you can explore the world but now get to make a rule that actually only certain people are allowed to explore? Whatever I know its a pointless argument.

That is why i feel the feelings of Amar in his journey of getting alternate citizenship. It was really touched watching the video. I know what it felt like to live without or with limited citizenship rights. It was never easy. Managed to sorted the citizenship problem and got it last year. Coming from Nigeria, raised in an underprivileged family. I got the opportunity to travel for the first time this year at 28 years old. Getting the visas were hell, scammed by travel agents. I live in kazakhstan now as an international student on a little funding. My greatest fear is still how i can get visas to travel to other countries during and after my studies. Its sad that some of us are born without freedom, but we hope to give our all in life to give our children the freedom we seek. I truly understand Amar, and the Yes theory team are great guys. I immediately went to St Witts and Nevis website but i saw the citizenship was by investment. I hope one day, the universe will smile on me too😊

Always point out , which is the official website for that destination country and just follow the process, terms and conditions and eligibility and just apply. You can save a lot of money if you applying directly through official website of that respective country.

I’m sure I’m not the only one but I literally cried watching this video. Ammar’s story hit too close to home. I moved to the United States 10 years ago from a country in Central Asia called Uzbekistan, I was born and raised there and didn’t want to leave but my parents thought it would be for the best. Not realizing that we would run into the immigration issue, where as soon as I got my American citizenship I could no longer go back home. It’s been 10 years since I’ve seen my family and it pains me every day. Luckily now with the new president in Uzbekistan they eased the laws and it became more possible, the issue now is the plane ticket is extremely expensive for me or any of my family to afford. But despite the American passport making it impossible for me to see my family for 10 years, I’ve definitely been taking advantage of it. I became a part time traveler, I’m 26 years old and I travel solo to countries I’ve never been before. Learning about other cultures, languages, lifestyles etc. Just two months ago I came back from a trip to Finland where my literal dream came true, I saw the northern lights. Thank you, Yes Theory for not only making amazing content but also being so encouraging and touching our souls in the way that you do. We love you guys❤

St. Kitts has a pretty neat flag! The green symbolizes the islands' fertile land (the Kalinago originally named St. Kitts, Liamuiga, meaning "fertile land"), the red symbolizes the bloodshed against slavery and colonialism, the yellow represents the nation's continuous sunshine, the two stars represent the islands and hope and liberty, and the black symbolizes the people's African origins. Besides Hamilton, something else the islands are famous for is being the home of the viral alcoholic vervet monkeys that the BBC once showed on Weird Nature. Vervet monkeys aren't native to the islands, they're originally from Africa and snuck on ships. They adapted there by eating sugarcane, but they just love to snatch people's drinks right on the beach!

The country I've been dreaming of going to since 2014 is India. The reason is that I met an Indian guy on Facebook and we have been friends ever since. I am from little town of Lithuania, India seemed soo exotic to me! Over the years, we both grew together talking about our cultures, our backgrounds, starting families and growing professionally. I started to admire Indian culture so much thanks to Raj!For me personally, he is the person who has walked with me through the most difficult paths of my life, who has supported me emotionally, even though he was in another part of the world, I still felt I had him completely in my life. And that connection is still there. He will always be important to me, even though we don't talk every day, but he has a part of my heart. If I had to go anywhere in the world it would be Antartica with my dad as his dad/my grandfather earned a polar medal for his rescue work in polar cravasses, leading to him getting a summit named after him (Mt Wise). Hi! I'm from South Africa and I've always dreamed of seeing the world. Last week, I went skydiving for my 21st birthday (repping Seek Discomfort obviously). I've been following you guys since 2018 when I was at a point in my life where I was afraid and unconfident in the world and myself. Watching you guys has taught me to say eff it, and ever since I've been doing more and more things that scare me. My parents were born and raised in Apartheid South Africa, the majority of the population was born during Apartheid, and in the country there is still a gaping whole where trust between people should be. I think that Africa has been overlooked by the world and by its own people because of the pain of the past and the deep lack of trust. My biggest dream is to travel around Africa and to learn from it and it's people no matter how much this terrifies me. This being said, I would love to go to Rwanda.

I was deeply moved by your recent CZcams video, and the opportunity you're offering to explore a new corner of the world is nothing short of incredible. I couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement and hope when I saw that you're raffling a ticket to travel to a destination of your choice.
For as long as I can remember, Japan has been at the top of my bucket list. The country's unique blend of modernity and tradition, natural beauty and bustling cities, has always captivated me. However, as much as I've dreamed of exploring Japan's vibrant culture and breathtaking landscapes, life has a way of getting in the way. Work, family obligations, and other responsibilities always seem to take precedence, leaving little time or resources for travel.
Winning this raffle would be an incredible opportunity to finally make my dream of visiting Japan a reality. I can only imagine the memories, experiences, and connections I would make on this journey. And, more importantly, I know it would be a chance for me to push myself out of my comfort zone, challenge my preconceived notions, and grow as a person.
Thank you for creating a platform that inspires people to say "yes" to life's adventures, and for giving me the chance to potentially embark on one of my own. I'm filled with hope and excitement, and I can't wait to see where this journey might take me.

Yours is the first that has truly lit a fire inside me. I studied French for many years and, afraid of studying abroad, quietly let it slip away. Your videos have shown the importance of connecting with others even with a language barrier. Holy shit, the amount of effort you guys put into a single video is unimaginable. The fact that you can put several thousands of dollars into one small segment of a video just proves that you and your team actually care about what you are doing. Not even just that, but also the videography, the dedication to the camera shots and the film quality is astonishing, and then theres the fact that these heart-warming moments, like Ammar being able to finally travel where he wants and NOT get stopped by an immigration officer is just amazing to hear and great to watch. If I were to pick a place for my dream country to visit, it would probably be Japan, I'd love to go there because of the History, Culture, Cuisine and the general kindness of the public. Even just to learn about the country is astonishing, wither thats the geography - like the huge mountains in the snowy north, or the boiling volcanoes in the heated south, it is all stupidly interesting. Same with the history, like how the last 100 samurais defeated an entire Mongol army, and how emperors have been backstabbed over the many years. I find it amazing. But seriously, I personally think this video is seriously well made, and I am extremely happy for Ammar.

Wow what an amazing video. Brought me to tears. You guys are such an inspiration. And the way amar described the yes theory can't get better. Love all of you and really admire from bottom of my heart . Me, my husband and our 3 year old daughter is making a life changing decision and really embodies yes theory as what amar explained...say yes to experience, seek discomfort and going out of your comfort zone and choose from the place of love and not fear. We are in our late 30s and come from south asian background and society always dictates our template of life - go school get a degree, get a job, get married, get house, get a car, have a child, have more child, get a better job, upgrade your car, get another house. Really the cycle is never ending. As we are approaching our 40s we realised what is the point of all these and why can't we create our own template of life that we truly desire. So we have taken a bold decision to sell all our material belongings pack our life worth in a suitcase and travel the world with our daughter and create our own template of life. In 2 years I will be 40 and I want my 40 to be the best 40 of my life living my life of love and growth living my own template and really show that life doesn't stop when you have a child and you don't need to live by other people template of life. We would be traveling south asian countries with our budget but it is our dream to live in a small Italian village for 3 months as a local and really experience the European life. Power to all of you. ❤

The first video I ever watched of Yes Theory was the trip to Tuvalu. Ever since I’ve fell in love with the concept of traveling to places that no one ever goes, exploring the area, and getting to know the people. Watching you guys inspired me to get a degree in english and embark on adventures, documenting my journey as I go. If I got the free trip I’d truly see no place more fit to go than where my inspiration began: Tuvalu. With somewhat clandestine twist of fate, a boy who grew up in a small town in Arkansas, and watched a CZcams video about a place no one’s ever heard of, would find himself there only a few years later. Always love your videos! Fantastic storytelling and amazing editing! I wonder if Ammar and his family can regroup somewhere in the world and share a journey, which might be an alternative solution and a new video. I and my wife haven't seen our family for more than 3 years after the pandemic. We relocated from France to the USA but never had the chance to go back to China. I also believe that everything happens for a reason but we can always change the perspective we think and live in the moment. I really hope Ammar can meet with his family soon!
To be honest, we always wanted to go to the "Gift of the Nile" - Egypt where the heartwarming Ammar was born XD. It has been a mysterious country to us with rich culture and gorgeous landscapes. Not to mention it has the last standing Ancient Wonder of the World, beautiful beaches, world-class museums, desserts, diving spots, etc.. So many things we can explore there, wish we can go there before we get too old LOL.

From the first video I watched you guys have always preached to “seek discomfort”. I am a positive person and believe that we all need a little bit of happiness in our lives. I am so glad that Ammar has found a beautiful country that he can call his second home. I am from South Africa, I have wishes and dreams as well but would rather ask instead of giving the trip of a lifetime to myself if I would have been chosen. I would request to rather give the money that would have been spent on me and give it to the Baka people to get running clean water for themselves. I would be happier if I could help others that really need it more than I do. Every small change each of us do in the world will make it a better one. As the gentleman said in this video, help others as one day you also will need help when you least expect it. Wishing you guys always safe travels and keep up the great work and content. You all have been a huge inspiration and influence on my life since I was ten. At my job I constantly yell my customers and coworkers to seek discomfort and live their best lives. I strive to bring your message to the world and live it. I am a barista making minimum wage and I don't get many travel opportunities. If I had a dream destination it would be Finland. I am slowly falling in love with a girl from Helsinky that I met while camping with my moms friends. I've sadly never had the opportunity to go and meet with her again. However, I have met this wonderful person through online gaming, we have been talking for almost a year now and I think it's finally time to leave my nest and travel to Germany to meet her. Try to visit every year different places and maybe come back in other again. Don't be shy to speak the local language and do not care about making mistakes.
