Lovebites hasn't covered Dream Theater, but Japanese band Unlucky Morpheus has an amazing cover of Dance of Eternity, with violin.
Sweet!
@@highspeeddirtreactions There is a live version of it and it includes their cover of Eruption from Eddie Van Halen. Quadratum is the sub unit of Unlucky Morpheus, all members except the 2 founding members play on it. Jinya (gt), Ogawa (ba) Fumiya (dr) and Jill (vi), missing Fuki (vo) and Shiren (gt)
Jill is really something special! They're all insanely gifted musicians, but Jill edges into the supernatural.

I agree! You should check out Unlucky Morpheus/Quadratum!
Glad I could help man
Edit: since you're a thrash guy I suggest Set The World On Fire for a live performance
Thanks for the good comment. Lovebites master their instrument create beautiful metal.. 👍👍🤘🤘
Did you say you like thrash songs?… I recommend:
Set the World on Fire
Break the Wall
Thunder Vengeance
The Hammer of Wrath
Raise Some Hell
Shadowmaker
of course…ALL LIVE!!!
Yes, these songs will put a perma grin on your face and you will never look at other bands the same. Lovebites is like many levels above other bands.
They have covered Judas Priest Painkiller and Helloween Eagle Fly Free with the original Bassist Miho who by the way favors Steve Harris and she founded lovebites. Fami is doing great replacing Miho but they are huge shoes to fill.
Eagle Fly Free (Helloween Cover) czcams.com/video/To21HILZvYE/video.html
Painkiller (Judas Priest Cover) Audie track czcams.com/video/ivJXmOVsFaA/video.html
My recommendation for thrash from lovebites is "Break the wall"
Amazing that this is their new bassist and she is only 20
Oh absolutely!!!! What a rush for a 20 year old.
The main difference between Dream Theater and Lovebites is that Lovebites have a soul.
The lyric of Judgement day was written by the lead singer Asami, and it was jointly composed by Asami and a keyboard player Mao. And many songs were composed by the long hair lead guitarist Miyako. I would like to see more of your journey of Lovebites kingdom. Great relation!
Wow! Thanks for the info. I have another video coming this weekend.
LOVEBITES - Set the World on Fire
🔥LOVEBITES🐺MASTERCLASS🔥Great reaction 🤘🏻
Thank you!
I Enjoyed yr reaction , Watch their Live videos... there are no bad tracks. It's cool to see reactors become Lovebitten on the new material.
It'll been fun watching you go through the earlier tracks. My current favourite in "Scream for Me"
I glad you enjoyed the video. I really enjoyed reacting to LoveBites. I will be doing a reaction video soon to the bands live performances. I can't wait.
You have to check out the live stuff
you can find another excellent bass player (and also drummer) in (ofc Japanese all female) band called Band-Maid, "Domination" official live is a great start
Right on! I'll have to check it out.
I can't wait to see you react to some of their live performances. They will knock your socks off.
Ponytail Curtis has given you two suggestions for a couple of covers.
My suggestion for a live performance is always Scream For Me.
I will check it out for sure
Live...check *Set the World on Fire.*
Cover from them...hmm we have the live audio of a cover they made for Love Bites form Halestorm, the studio audio of a Painkiller by Judas Priest, and a live video of Helloween's Eagle Fly Free.
It's funny you brought up Matt Heafy, he is aware of the band and has done a couple acoustic covers of their songs.
Fantastic!
Welcome back... More please..
They've covered 'Pain Killer' by Judas Priest and did a live studio cover of 'Eagle Fly Free' by Helloween, they're both amazing and can be found on youtube.
Just scratchin the surface. Lovebites is an amazing band. Shadowmaker or Break the Wall are great. They are the rare band that may be better live btw. If you want a cover (they do not have many) try Painkiller....oh man.
You have spoken about Dream Theater. If you want to see very similar: Frozen serenade live in Tokio 2021! Thanks.
They do have a few songs that fit in the prog metal genre, but this one is pretty much straight forward power metal with some symphonic elements (which accounts for roughly two-thirds of their material). The first one you heard is more or less traditional NWOBHM-inspired (more specifically, Motorhead-inspired) traditional heavy metal, though there were moments with thrash elements. If you want true thrash from Lovebites, you'll want to check out Hammer of Wrath, Break the Wall, M.D.O., Thunder Vengeance, Set the World on Fire, and Dissonance. For some real prog from them, check out A Frozen Serenade and Edge of the World.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll check those out.
wrong wrong and more wrong
I think for prog, try the song Dystopia Symphony
funny thing (for me) people said they inspired by Iron Maiden but they covered Helloween
They are for sure, you can find some pictures with them wearing Maiden's shirts. (i saw Haruna, Miho and Miyako)
I heard that Helloween it's Haruna favorite band, maybe that's why, and it turned out fantastic.
Next live songs Set The World On Fire(Trash), Break The Wall(Trash), The Hammer Of Wrath, Raise Some Hell, Holy War, coover songs Pain Killer(Judas Priest)
Its time for another TOP J-Rock/Metal Bands Bro...
NEMOPHILA(all female) - songs Seize The Fate, Revive, Dissension, Raitei, cover songs Iron Maiden, Skid Row, Motley Crue, KISS, AC/DC, Linkin Park and they currently doing live shows at USA tours MARCH 2023..
BAND-MAID(all female) - live songs Freedom, Domination, Play, Thrill, Dice, Influencer, On Set, From Now On...
HANABIE(all female) - songs We Love Sweets, NEET GAME, Pardon Me...
ASTERISM(female guitarist) - songs Dawn, Rising Moon, Church, Blaze....
Check out the Lovebites cover of Judas Priest - Painkiller!
Absolutely
If you are a huge dream theater fan you need to check a band called Unlucky morpheus, they covered the dance of eternity with a violin. Please check that cover live. Cheers from Colombia 🤘🇨🇴
I would say more powermetal than progg. But love that you love it too...
I can see your point.
By that I mean this particular song. They are not afraid to mix a variety from hardrock, metal, powermetal, powermetal with symphonic metal influences, trash metal and more. Just as Band Maid are switching between rock, hardrock and metal. Btw I love that many of the Japanese bands in general mixes the bass a bit higher in the sound mix. In my opinion many metal bands should follow that example. Whichever the rock or metal style or either how good/or playstyle of the bass player....
I think they all benefits with some more (and in the mix defined) bass.
So many recordings of other bands that I love. Who I really wished some more bass of...
For me rock whatever the form of it needs a foundation for the drums and guitarrs. Then if it is extreamly melodious and bass players doing extra stuff all the time. Or if its just a strict "foundation player" bassist, it still need the rightful place and clarity in the mix.
That does 1+1=3 for my ears when it comes to bands who practice that rule....
Thankyou for a great chanel.
Im a new follower starting today.
All the best from Stockholm Sweden / J
Miho(bassist) formed the band with Haruna (Drummer) in 2016 the first EP and Album both came out in 2017 their previous band Destrose folded in around 2015 Haruna had left Destrose before they broke up Miho stayed till the end and she recruited Haruna as the 1st member of Lovebites she wanted a band that does classic brittish 80's metal and modernize it with the lovebites touch she found Asami through a demo tape she was singing R&B before joining lovebites. I think she sounds like a female counterpart of Bruce Dickinson
next stop power ballad, epilogue(live). it’s one of the best out there.
Awesome! I'll check it out.
Check out their cover of fly eagle fly by Helloween and pain killer by judast priest. They are 🔥
That will most likely be my next video regarding this band.
Thanks for coming back to Lovebites so soon. Dream Theatre are a great band, but I can't get myself to put up with LaBrie's vocals. Lovebites are more than technical enough to cover DT, and with Asami on vocals it would be a huge improvement.
Agreed! I didn't want to come out just say that lol! DT has some pretty loyal fans. I was keeping the peace 😉
@@highspeeddirtreactions Have you listened to Liquid Tension Experiment? Basically an all-instrumental version of DT. Amazing.
@@highspeeddirtreactions DT has some pretty loyal fans: No definitely not, In over 30 years DT has millions of pretty loyal fans. And Labrie, was, is and shall always be the vocalist for DT. Labrie is the inscription on the DT stone preserved in glass. I reckon, if Labrie decides to leave, Petrucci and gang might just have to forgo DT's future excursions, due the meticulous procedures in trying to secure a replacement who is a music sheet vocalist compatible with the writing and composing abilities of the group. At most DT have about 5 years before each can collect their retirement benefits 401K, as a figure of speech. And with Petrucci and Rudess each frequently exploring other music projects, I think DT is already seeing the light of retirement.
Perhaps to answer the question of why Labrie for 30 years, Petrucci, Rudess and Myaung knows best. But forget about asking Portnoy. 🤣🤣
@@hiawatha.gI reckon Petrucci after the G3 excursions with Satriani and Vai was the door that opened his interest to further showcase his individual musical and compositional flair, What more a musician of his credibility can hardly be contained by just being with DT, which is obvious for any great musician's evolution. Also liquid tension is an opportunity for him to be alongside as a reunion of sorts with his close friend Portnoy.
Lovebites are more than technical enough to cover DT: Arguably, that I cannot dispute. But at their current level now best to not do covers anymore. and to focus on better writing and compositional original material which I think currently their peers are clouded in dust, and going on extensive tours as continuity to promoting what is hot about Lovebites..
Your induction into the Wolfpack is complete. Rites of passage however require live footage and, as yet, there is no footage available of this lineup due to their enforced absence. But rest assured, it’s not that far away. End of year at latest is my best guess. The band is very fan friendly, very communicative, and really care what we think, always stating that they will work hard to prepare for a gig, or show us their daily practice routine on Instagram or Twitter every now and then. The fan base is also predominantly male, and predominantly older, because of the fact that we recognise the styles they play and appreciate how well they play it. So it kinda makes us really protective of them, as well, especially in my case, really proud to be associated with them and proud of them. Best band in my lifetime.
Your two reactions so far are a cut above the majority of their ilk, well spoken, articulate, respectful and genuine. The genuine part really goes a long way in making sure we come back again and again. Just a word about subscribing, in my case. You may react every day, but I watch reactions every day. Lovebites reactions…nobody else. So it’s impractical for me to subscribe to every channel that asks for my subscription. I do however refine my search such that if you react to Lovebites, I’ll know and I’ll watch it.
And we all say...wow! 🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🤟❣
Now it‘s time for hammer of wrath (Full of eargasms) or Break the wall (Second solo Gives me goothbombs every time) both live. Next one after that something slower, suggest a frozen serenade (the Most beautyful song of this Century in my opinion)
You sold me! I'm gonna check those songs out.
Judas Priest Painkiller. Its the only Cover from Lovebites i know
They also have a cover of Helloween "Eagle Fly Free," from their "Awake Again: Live From the Abyss" live-streamed concert.

PS: Dream Theater vibes, but with a talented singer 🤭
I wasn't go after Dream Theaters singer but.......lol!
+1
I agree with the Dream Theater feel but there was also midway through the solos a Malmstein feel! A lot of their music has a 1980's British metal feel ie Iron Maiden and Judas Priest which was part of the NWoBHM period and not trying to be rude but the American metal scene was for my mind weak and could not hold a candle to British metal with the exception of Metallica. A lot of these bands played Japan and influenced many there. One notable band in Japan at that time was EZO under the guidance of Gene Simmons. In truth that style of music with American influences never really caught on! Lovebites for me are the embodiment of that NWoBHM era and the UK is the only western country they have toured aside from music festivals in Europe ie Wacken and I luckily seen them on that tour!! Before Lovebites I am a big fan of Dream Theater and seen them many times! Lastly a good reaction and enjoy what is ahead of you, you will not be disappointed 😎🤟
🤘
If you love thrash then Lovebites has more of that. You haven't seen them live yet, so here's a link to their live video of one of their best thrash songs "Set the World on Fire". czcams.com/video/99zsH6iG_6c/video.html
It may seem minor but it was the first thing I noticed... This reaction said 4K. Just by watching the video it is obvious that the resolution is not even 4K by a miracle, maybe 720, but I am more inclined to think in 480p... I found it curious because a reaction in 4k is somewhat "doubtful" from the beginning... So I ask now, what about honesty? Shouldn't it be taken into account today? How can I trust that it is an honest reaction if they already lied to us before we went to see the video?
I actually haven't seen the reaction part yet, and I might not even bother to. I just wanted to point out a fact. The truth is always even easier...
The 4K labeling is done by CZcams, not me. I used a 1080P camera for this. What CZcams labels the video is beyond my control. Watching and reacting to badass music I can control. I hope you have a awesome day.
you want more trash metal from them, just "Break The Wall".
I'll check it out
Totally love your concept of Dream Theater vibes, I am personally a huge fan of both bands myself many complain about James' vocals as they once did about Asami's vocals but who cares both singers are phenomenal. Many morons are always confusing prog-metal to symphonic rock because of the synth and claiming that Asami has an operatic voice, hogwash is what I say. I too hear a lot of Prog-metal with Lovebites in many of their songs, others even claim that this is power metal more hogwash, I've come to believe that many don't have a clue to what they are saying.
Fami Fami Fami!
hey Man, love your reaction ... i suggest you to check their other masterpiece called Swan Song with Chopin Intro .. cheers
Thanks!
Great reaction and them covering Pull Me Under would be very cool! Formed in 2016 and their live stuff is ABSOLUTLEY FIRE!!
Holy War live 2020 czcams.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/video.html power metal
Set The World On Fire live 2021 czcams.com/video/99zsH6iG_6c/video.html pure thrash!
Thank you for coming back so quickly! Look forward to more Lovebites reactions! 🤘
If there is any band out there that could do justice to a Dream Theater cover, it would be Lovebites!
@Eyeosphere00 Agreed since he's a thrash fan.
Oh, you're a bass player. You need to check out BAND-MAID, an all female, hard rock band from Japan. MISA, the bassist, is so good, so well loved, the audience chants her name at concerts. The song, 'DICE', is a good place to start. For a live track, 'Domination', is a great one. Keep an eye on her hands when the bass solo comes up. She switches from picking, to slapping, back to picking in the blink of an eye.
Thank you for the recommendation
If you want your mind blown by another all female metal band from Japan called Nemophila. They do a lot of original music plus a lot of covers from Iron Maiden to Kiss to ACDC etc etc
Oh sweet!!!!
if you like dream theater just listen it and learn how to show tails instead of such creepy snail tails 🐌🐌🐌
They showcased their new bass player, Fami, in this one. The old bass player, Miho, reminded me so much of Steve Harris from Maiden. They formed in 2016. The drummer, Haruna, and the former bass player formed the band after their former band, Destrose, disbanded because of medical issues with their singers.
The lead singer, Asami, actually has an R&B and soul background. Miho's biggest influences were Maiden, Pantera, Motley Crue, and Anthrax. Her vision was a mostly power metal band with old school metal. She was heavily influenced by Steve Harris and Nikki Sixx.
Miho left the band in 2021 for personal reasons. A huge worldwide audition was held and Fami was chosen as the new bassist. She was pretty CZcams famous as an excellent bassist. Midori (the blond) and Miyako (black hair) have been playing piano since they were 2 and 3 respectively. Midori started playing guitar at 20, and Miyako started playing in high school. Haruna has been playing drums since she was 13. She styled her playing after Uli Kusch from Helloween.
The name comes from a practice session when the played Love Bites (So Do I) by Halestorm.
